Guestbook comments from the owner

We "rocked the foundation" with our laughter! Thank you for providing wonderful accomodations for our 30th reunion. All of us ladies had a fabulous time. You were a great "judge" of our art projects Jeff, and so impartial too! We hope to return one day.

P.S. The two dishwashers were wonderful idea.

Wonderful owners, beautiful home with amazing views.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this gorgeous home for the weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. We had an amazing time and hope to make it a tradition with our group of 20.

The owners, Jeff and Donna, are great to work with, provide quick communication, & were very accommodating. There was a unique situation that arose just prior to our arrival. I was so impressed with the way they tackled the situation.

This house is huge and offered plenty of space for all of us. The views from just about every room in this 3 story home are beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need to prepare a wonderful meal. The bedrooms are cozy. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The backyard was a favorite place to play baseball, pass the football, relax in the hot tub & have a bonfire.

Jeff has done a wonderful job creating steps to the beach. It’s steep but well maintained. The private beach is beautiful and a favorite spot for the kids.

All in all, our entire group was very impressed with the home. We had an amazing weekend!

wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

This house is in a perfect location and great space for a family reunion or other large group. We had an incredible time hanging out in the large kitchen/family room, kayaking, and taking easy day-trips to Anacortes (and on to Friday Harbor), Bellingham, and Seattle. Very large house is great for getting people together under one roof, with enough space to not feel cramped. Highly recommend it!

Great choice for a large group!

  • 5 of 5

Our son got married this weekend near Lake Goodwin and we chose Eagle's Cove for our very large family. The house is beautiful and was roomy enough for everyone and perfect for the Rehearsal Dinner that we hosted in the back yard. The kitchen is fully stocked and the double ovens and two dishwashers were a God send for us with so many people and so much food to prepare. If you are looking for a place to entertain up to 20 people this is definitely the place. Parking can be a challenge if you have several vehicles but we made it work! Lots of great memories were made during our stay. Thanks Donna and Jeff!

good but not great

  • 3 of 5

The home was well-supplied and well-planned, with lots of space, many bedrooms, two dishwashers and an abundance of plates, cups, glasses and utensils. When we arrived, we found a note from the owners that the air-conditioning was out due to over-use by previous guests. Since the owners knew the AC wasn't working, we expected repairs to the system. No effort was made to restore the AC. As a result, we spent one of the hottest weeks in the Pacific NW without relief even at night from the heat. To make matters worse, smoke from forest fires in British Columbia covered the area. Without AC, my 83 year old mother experienced sustained coughing requiring a visit to a doctor who diagnosed smoke-induced asthma. We had not anticipated adding a medical bill to our vacation expenses. While the home had two hot water heaters, for some reason they tripped three times during our 5 day stay. After resetting the water heaters the first time, we staggered our use of hot water, showering one at a time when a dishwasher was not in use. The water heaters tripped again anyway, once while we were sleeping and not even using hot water. As the house was described as on the waterfront, we were also surprised to find how far above the water the house was located. A walk to the rocky beach required traversing many flights of cinder block which was impossible for the older members of our group. Perhaps the description of the home should be updated to note lack of AC, how to reset the water heaters, and the difficulty of reaching the beach for all but the most agile people.
