Whether you are looking for relaxation or outdoor adventure, or both, like us, you will enjoy your stay in the yurt on Perry lake. The charming yurt is fully equipped and the bathroom is a separate room with new shower and sink. Bed is very comfortable. We had chilly weather and hot temps all within a five day stay. We took advantage of the hammock, firepit (wood on site), kayaks, canoe and stand up paddle boards. The lake is small, clean and quiet- we felt like we owned it! There are a lot of lily pads near the shore that prevented us from swimming. The Cable Cluster of bike trails is easy to access and challenging for all levels. We golfed at Lakewood’s Golf Course- great shape and scenic. Plenty of hiking options within an hour’s drive. All the restaurants/bars within 15 minutes were good and friendly! Would highly recommend. Will stay again!
First and foremost the yurt was immaculate! It was refreshing to actually be in a spotless place.
Secondly all the perks there we amazing. A canoe, 2 kayaks, and 2 stand-up paddle boards. The pier was sturdy and a nice length.
There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen all the way from condiments in the refrigerator to dishes, pots, pans etc.
The wild life was crazy! Coyotes, deer and loons to name a few.
We would come back anytime!!
A wonderful family weekend with our two young children. The yurt was very cozy; we really enjoyed the fireplace and the canoe. Elaine suggested a trip to the natural history museum — which our boys loved! Great local restaurants! Thanks Elaine for the amazing time!
The yurt was absolutely fantastic! The perfect “cabin in the woods” but even better that it was a YURT! The setting is quiet and serene and the yurt is extremely cozy. Owners were great! Will definitely stay again.
Staying in the yurt with our two kids (ages 12 and 8) and our dog was wonderful. The yurt had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend while in town for a bike race and some cross country skiing. We arrived to a warm fire in the fireplace, a loaf of delicious bread and a handwritten note. These precious details were above and beyond. The yurt itself and the property is beautiful. I can't wait to return for another visit. Thank you for a wonderfilled yurt stay in the woods.
We booked our stay for the high school cross country state meet... so perfect and convenient...what a beautiful weekend. This area is a beautiful playground!!! Perry Pine Yurt was so cozy and warm... perfect for our family of 4. Kent and Elaine thank you for everything... your recommendations for trails and food were perfect... we need more time here to do all the fun adventures!!! We will be back!!!
This was our second stay at the cozy yurt on Perry Lake. The sunrise coming through the patio doors in the morning is priceless. Both stays have been in the winter because we enjoy XC skiing & fat tire biking but I bet it is also wonderful in the summer to stay there. Kent & Elaine are fantastic hosts.
What a fantastic experience! This yurt provides the perfect escape for those looking for a quiet, private, retreat. It strikes the perfect balance of a cozy, outdoors, retreat, with all the comforts of a modern home. If you're lucky enough to be viewing this property with availability, look no further. And don't question booking in the winter either. It was perfect. Fresh snow, nice holiday touches by the owners, a cozy fire inside (and outside if you wish!). We'd love to come back some day!
We loved our stay at Perry Pines Yurt! It is charming - decorated so tastefully to represent this fun and beautiful area! It has all the comforts of home plus a fabulous view and an peaceful location! Elaine and Kent are wonderful hosts and very responsive. We would love to visit the area again and stay at Perry Pines!! Love it!
Where do I start? My husband and I decided somewhat last minute to spend our Thanksgiving here, given it would just be the two of us this year. It did not disappoint. Everything has been thought of to make the experience easy, comfortable, relaxing, and memorable. This place comes fully stocked and Elaine went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. When we rolled in our first night after a long drive, there was a fire rolling in the wood stove and soft music piping through the TV, which set the mood to leave the drive behind instantly.
I really can’t say enough good things. The lot size is large - especially considering it’s a small lake - which meant our dog had oodles of good sniffs to keep her occupied. The view over the lake is absolutely lovely in the morning. This place is a gem, for all seasons I’d wager.
Of one thing I am certain. We will be back. :-)
Perry Pines is something pretty special! My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away from the busyness of work and family and soaked up every second of relaxation. The property is beautiful and offers wonderful views of Perry Lake. Elaine and Kent have thought of EVERYTHING. The yurt is super cozy and comfortable. The bed is comfy and the chairs are welcoming in front of the wood burning stove. Everything is very modern with beautiful touches of rustic and industrial flair. The kitchen was well stocked. You can even find a crockpot! The wi-fi worked great and we were able to stream movies on the Apple TV we brought with (they also provide a streaming stick.) We were supplied with more than enough wood for the stove and plenty for the outdoor fire pit (although it was too windy to have a fire outside.) The wrap around deck offers a great view of the lake for morning coffee and up close and personal bird and critter watching at the bird feeder. Perry PINES is appropriately named! The magnificent pine trees surrounding the yurt offered an extra special treat when the wind whistled through their tops. Elaine and Kent have done a wonderful job of creating a welcoming retreat. From the moment we walked into the yurt I knew we found something special. They have provided loads of information and details of the surrounding area. Elaine wrote a sweet welcome message onto a hand painted card of Perry Pines and for this scrapbooker, it was an instant treasure, not to mention the most DELICIOUS welcome treat awaited us. We're already talking about our visit next year! (and I really really need that lemon blueberry poppy seed loaf recipe!)
Couldn’t have asked for a better destination to get away and disconnect from everything taking place. The Yurt has everything you needed, plus the charm of being in the North Woods. We decided to cook every meal in the yurt and it was stocked with all the essentials. The location was in way driving distance to some great walking trails and waterfalls. Will definitely keep this one in our lists of favorite VRBO places to visit again!
We have a wonderful time at Perry Pines Yurt. My son did a lot of hiking and enjoyed the trails and some of the shops in Cable. I did some kayaking on the private and peaceful lake. We all did some reading and relaxing, it was just what was needed during these stressful times. On of the highlights was my 10 year old, 20# American Eskimo jumping of the end of the dock to catch a fish (we think). At least know we know he can swim. Also, it was fun watching him try to catch the chipmunks, they teased him all day. I can't wait to come back.

My husband, dog, and I stayed at the yurt for a week and we enjoyed every minute of it! It's so spacious, comfortable, and homey from the moment you walk in; there are a lot of great amenities and the yurt is close to a lot of trails and activities (without being in the thick of Summer vacationers). We are definitely interested in staying at the yurt for a future Winter vacation, though!
We love coming here for the quiet, tranquility of nature. The yurt is cozy and accommodating so we get the camping experience without the extra work. The property owners are wonderful to work with and make sure we have everything we need. We will definitely return!
We loved staying at the yurt! It was clean, quiet, secluded, and everything we wanted for our weekend getaway. The hosts were very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure that we had a great stay! We would definitely stay here again.
The yurt was great, and the property and lake was beautiful. Very relaxing and quiet. Awesome for my wife, daughter and myself. Made for a great week in the woods.
Our stay at the Yurt was an excellent experience. I was impressed with how the owners utilized the space and everything they provided. The only unfortunate part of our vacation was we were there during the early stages of the pandemic so the restaurants were not allowing people to dine. Given that situation, we still enjoyed our stay at the yurt and will definitely plan another trip during the summer or fall.
We absolutely loved our winter getaway weekend at this adorable yurt! My boyfriend, myself and our 2 dogs rented it for an anniversary/Valentine's Day vacation. Very quiet and private space. The owners were very welcoming. The yurt was fully stocked with supplies and lots of little extras, too. Lots to do in the Cable area! We were able to squeeze in just about everything we had hoped to do. Fat tire biking, snowshoeing, hiking, ice fishing, checked out some great local restaurants, enjoyed watching all the deer run around on the lake while sitting by a nice toasty bonfire. We played a few games of cribbage while relaxing in front of the woodburning stove. We loved the big comfy bed! Never got cold with the generous amount of blankets. The dogs loved running on the Cable Town Trails, which were very easily accessible from the yurt. My boyfriend is an avid fat tire biker, and this was my first experience fat tire biking. Renting a fat tire bike was VERY reasonable. Really fun beginners trail for me, then my boyfriend took our younger dog and did the more difficult trails. Had a lot of fun chatting with other bikers and visitors to the area while we were out and about. The barstool races in Drummond were a HOOT! We've rented many places in different parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota in our travels, and this was definitely our favorite! We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition up at the yurt!
