We are the Zondervans, and it is our pleasure to welcome you to Eagle's Landing Resort! Todd and I (Dawn) both grew up in West Michigan, and met in 1992 at WMU. We got married in 1994, and reside in Caledonia, Michigan, with our children, Connor, Cam, and Carly. Todd works in sales for a packaging company, and I am a speech-language pathologist. We both love our jobs, but have often been told that we have "a gift for hospitality" and have "dreamed" of starting our own vacation rental business. My grandparents had a cottage just up the street, where I spent many summers of my childhood and teenage years. In college, I was a camp counselor for Camp Roger, and took many campers on over-night canoe trips down the Little Muskegon River, and into Croton Pond where we would camp on the island near the Croton causeway. With all of my memories and time spent here, Croton has become quite nostalgic to me, and now my husband and children have grown to love it JUST about it as much I do! We bought our own cottage on the water a few years ago, and in the summer of 2017, this property came up for sale, across the street from us. It seemed to be a great opportunity for us to finally make our dream a reality.

Why Owner chose Newaygo
We have spent the past few months updating this beautiful home, and adding amenities to make it a perfect, relaxing family getaway for ALL seasons! We are certain it will bring joy and lifelong memories to all who come to experience it. Trust us when we say that Croton Pond is a truly unique, and rather "undiscovered" body of water. "It reminds me of Canada or the U.P. with its natural beauty and how the trees come down to the water!" "It is ABSOLUTELY beautiful!" "What an enormous body of water to enjoy with so LITTLE water traffic!" "It's incredible to see the bald eagles flying up and down the river!" "Croton is an undiscovered GEM of northern Michigan!" Yes, it's all true! Book your vacation with us today and discover what makes Croton waterway, and Eagle's Landing Resort, the perfect getaway for YOUR family!

Second visit and counting
This was my second visit and I am already looking forward to going back next year. The place is fantastic, the listing is accurate, and the owners are very friendly and great in communication.
The Perfect Retreat
Todd and Dawn's property was perfect for our family, 4 adults and 2 small children. There was beyond enough room for everyone, and so many different amenities. We took a few day trips, but the few days that we stayed at the house proved to be the most relaxing. Our kids had a blast on the swing set and taking a couple boat rides on the pontoon boat. There were so many activities at the house, especially for outdoor fun. Todd and Dawn were very responsive if we had any questions during our stay, they were the perfect hosts. Next time our family travels out to Michigan we will definitely return to Todd and Dawn's resort!
A wonderful stay
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! It was well furnished and very clean! They had lots of thing for us to do from bike riding to kayaking!
A Slice of Heaven
This is a wonderful home. Todd and Dawn were very responsive to any concerns or questions we had. Super clean and nicely appointed with comfy beds and furniture. We were a group of four for our first week and seven for our second. Plenty of space to spread out, both indoors and out. We loved everything about it, down to the sweet basket that greeted us containing everything to make s’mores by the fire pit. Bikes, kayaks, pickleball, volleyball, ping pong, horseshoes, corn hole, basketball we’re all provided for our use along with a huge attached garage that easily held all three of our cars with loads of room to spare. Our favorite spot was the covered portico/patio down by the water where we were able to watch eagles, heron, kingfishers, turtles, fish and more. We also rented the pontoon boat which provided the fishermen in the group a great spot to fish from and some great cruises to both dams.
We enjoyed a great breakfast at “Between the Dams” restaurant which we were able to walk to. Also enjoyed the huge freshly baked cinnamon rolls available Saturday and Sunday mornings from the Hilltop Store /gas station just west of Hardy Dam.
Eagles Landing is Five star all the way!
We had a wonderful time, the weather was great and our accommodations were great as usual. Todd and Dawn are wonderful hosts, they have thought of everything. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable!
Tons of space in an idyllic setting
We had a wonderful summer vacation at the Eagles Landing Resort. The rental itself is enormous, with plenty of (well-appointed) space for everyone-kids and adults. There were enough activities directly at the rental that we didn't need to leave at all if we didn't want to. The location itself is beautiful- a largely unspoiled, quiet retreat. The shaded patio by the water is a wonderful place to relax. We even managed to see an eagle swooping down to catch a fish. The water seems to be quite calm, though there is a some boat / jet ski traffic that comes through, particularly in the middle of the day. We kayaked almost all the way down the river to Hardy Dam , taking the time to explore the little inlets, with ice-cold streams flowing from the forest. The lake itself is also lovely, with sandbar areas great for little kids, and a rope swing (that some of us were brave enough to try)! The owners are fantastic- really taking time to make sure we had everything that we needed / wanted and including a lot of fun flourishes like s'more ingredients. We would definitely stay again!
