"Shirl's Shores" is a 4 Bedroom, 2 bath classic beach bungalow, arranged with 2 bedrooms/1 bath on each side separated by a large open central living area. It is perfect for 1 or 2 families. SHIRL'S SHORES IS A 7 DAY, MINIMUM, SATURDAY TO SATURDAY ROTATION. Sleeps 8, with queen beds in 3 bedrooms and 2 twins in the 4th. This cottage has been owned by the same family since 1980 and has been enjoyed as a vacation site by many families and fishermen over the years. Previously, rented through a local agency, we manage it directly (retired and full time residents of Nags Head). We want you to enjoy a true beach experience. The location is ideal for beachcombers and nature lovers. (Milepost 21)-the southern side of S. Nags Head-close to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. Considering the ideal location, the rates are truly value priced. In keeping with the goal of "economy pricing", linens are not standard. Guests would bring their own sheets (3 queens, 2 twins) & towels. Bedspreads, pillows, blankets, and mattress pads are provided. We can direct you to local linen services, should you need them.

Another Great Stay!

This is the second time we have stayed here - once again we enjoyed our stay. The location has great access to beach. The house is clean and the kitchen had been updated since our last stay.

The location of this house was perfect. It is a very short walk to the beach that is not crowded. The house was a nice size for my family and parents. We would stay here again. Had everything we needed.

Perfect cottage close to the beach!

We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing vacation here and would definitely return! The house had plenty of space for our family of four and our little dog. Loved the porches on both the front and back of the house. Perfect proximity to the beach.

Rainy vacation

Located in South Nags Head a short drive to the main strip. The house layout was great with bedrooms and bath on each side separated by the living area. A short walk to the beach it was the perfect location. Unfortunately the weather was not our friend but I recommend this beach house for a Nags Head getaway.

Nags Head Get Away

This is our second summer in this house. Steps to the beach, great layout in the house. My daughter and her family had their wing while my husband and I had ours. Big surprise this year was the new kitchen and island — everything was perfect. Becky and Shirley are the best hosts! Highly recommend.

Family Vacation

I booked the stay to celebrate my 50th birthday with my 3 kids (20, 18, 15) & my son’s girlfriend (also 18). We had a wonderful time. The location was perfect and convenient for relaxing, shopping, site seeing, and being on the beach. The house was cozy, stocked with kitchen equipment, and the washer and dryer were in perfect condition.

Shirley, along with her husband Allen had this cottage built back in 1980-both as a family vacation site and as an investment. She and her family loved the nature, beauty and the unique privacy that South Nags Head offers. It is the perfect site for true beach combers and for launching off to Rodanthe, Hatteras, Okracoke, etc.-yet close to the restaurants and shops in Manteo and Nags Head. She lost Allen about 10 years ago but has maintained this cottage as a family vacation rental property. It is value priced.
