Pacific Grove is situated centrally on the Monterey Peninsula between the towns of Monterey and Pebble Beach. Our neighborhood is residential, quiet, and filled with well-maintained older houses and cottages of vernacular architectural styles, particularly Victorian, Craftsman, Stick, and Shotgun.
An easy four-block walk takes you to downtown's restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, banks, shops, art studios, and churches. You'll also find a grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy, library, natural history museum, and post office.
From downtown, a short stroll takes you to Lovers Point Beach & Park, where you can relax on the grass or sand, or rent bikes, kayaks, standup paddleboards, or family surreys from Pacific Grove Adventures. Surfers and divers will find outfitters in Monterey.
In Pacific Grove's Forest Hill shopping district (distinct from downtown and a one-mile drive from the house), you'll find larger stores and chains such as Safeway, Trader Joe's, Rite Aid, Domino's Pizza, and Starbucks, as well as independent restaurants, shops, and businesses.
