I want to say that I have stayed at probably 20 places over the past five years and have never left a bad review.
I will start by saying that Ellen the host was very friendly and called before we arrived to help us with check in.
When we arrived, there was trash all over the deck, food stuck to the table, globs of conditioner in the outdoor shower and pine needles all over everything. I spent probably an hour tidying and sweeping the outdoor area because it was our family’s vacation and I was going to make the best of it. The yard was full of old brush and logs, trash barrels, and broken grills overgrown with weeds. The cushions were covered in stains and dog hair.
The house is about 20 feet from the main Edgartown to Vineyard Haven road which meant cars constantly going by at about 50 mph so even tho the bike lane is there, I was nervous to send my kids out.
Finally, there was so much clutter everywhere. When we walked in the door there was cleaning stuff for miles (but no usable broom), lobster pots, just so much random stuff and in a fairly small house it made the place feel very cluttered. The sofa nearly obstructs the front door. The bathrooms are old with moldy caulking and mirrors that are rusty. The toilet paper and dish holders are rusty too.
This house was loved sometime in the early 2000s, but needs a strong decluttering and updating. Disappointing given the huge expense for our family and time we won’t get back.
