The cabin was spacious and met all expectations. Views were great and even caught some snow before we left. Fire place was cozy and the hot tub was hot lol. Over all great place to stay.

Thank you for your stay. We hope you will return soon to Canaan Valley!
It’s a nice place to stay and conveniently close to timberline. Very welcoming, just make sure you are close with the people you’re visiting with. The bunk beds are in a common area loft and one bedroom has louvre doors lacking privacy. Another room has its own bathrooms with loud saloon doors.

Quite place in the middle of the mountain forest. Lots of great things to do near by. My wife and I had an amazing experience! Perfect for a short 3-4 day visit.

Had a great time! The house has plenty of amenities, including a well stocked pantry. Hot tub works great! Needs a few updates, but great experience!

Lights burnt out on outside. Could not see to unload car. Dishwasher needs to be replaced. House cold but yet too hot in a bathroom. Need to make it clear second queen requires climbing the spiral stairs. Oven thermostat broken.
We booked a cabin in Harman, upon arrival the drive way was to steep and unsafe. We ended up backwards going down allegany mountain hitting the guardrail sliding all the way to bottom of the mountain backwards. The host refused to help us out, we drove all the way back to Elkins to get a hotel for the night. We emergently booked this cabin for the remainder of our stay. Cabin was warm and clean everything we hoped for and more. We usually use Vrbo but
Obviously been a rental for a long time, but has stood up pretty well. Hot tub jets don’t work so it’s more like an outside bathtub. It was still cool though with the snow coming down. Inside looks like an old converted barn. Has a cool personality if you aren’t into fancy.

The house is nice, it was probably nicer 20 years ago than today. Little details matter, such as having well water that not only makes showering terrible, but the hot tub was the one attraction I had looked for in this property before booking an anniversary getaway weekend with my wife and the water was "Dirty" brown. The washing machine made the clothes smell as well. The dishwasher wasn't working, it was actually broke but that wasn't a huge deal breaker. This property just needs some updates done and interior renovated to make it a true 4 plus star property. It seemed like just a "camp" in the woods ultimately. We made the best of it for 3 days and 2 nights though. We would possibly bring our kids back in the warmer months of the year to this space due to the extra space if it was up to date.
Easy check-in. Residence is well maintained. Plenty of space for entire family. Highly recommend. Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, appliances in great shape, plenty of dishes and glassware. Kids enjoyed puzzles and the large deck and property.
Only criticisms are that the bed mattresses are very worn, and we would have really enjoyed using the firepit. We were confused why we were notified a few days before our arrival that fires were not permitted even though the fire danger listing for the area was low. This was the main reason for us staying there and we were very disappointed. Don't advertise fire pit area if customers are not permitted to use it.
Other than that, it was a wonderful beautiful place to get away.
The place was all decorated when we arrived for Christmas. The tree was beautiful and the other wreaths. Hot tub was brand new set at 103. The stairs are so magical looking. It’s a very creative space through and through. I felt like we could enjoy our time like we were in our own home and not a rental. There were plenty of pots, pans, plates mugs, utensils, corkscrews. Etc. We cooked everyday and loved the crockpot and Kcup (also has regular coffee pot, toaster). The bed was comfortable and we slept in. It’s really close to town/black water falls and if you ski it’s super close to that action at timberline. There is a nice backyard lots of deer from refuge to watch.

Thank you for your stay. We hope you will return soon to Canaan Valley!
This place definitely needs some upgrades, kitchen didnt leave alot to be desired. 2 of the 3 bathrooms in the house are made for smaller people, i didnt have an issue but my husband had to turn sideways to even get through the homemade saloon doors in bedroom bathroom. We woke up with no water one morning but maintenance was out there fast and fixed the issue.
Also, im glad it didnt get any colder during our stay as the heat wouldn't keep up, it was on 72 during stay but didn't get above 67 even with electric place on.
All in all ok place for a few days, but a few upgrades would go a long way.
Thanks
We had a great stay. House was clean and stocked with everything we needed. There are only 2 bedrooms plus a loft. The description makes it sound like there are 3 bedrooms plus a loft, but that’s not the case. There is a master bedroom on the first floor. The stairs go up to a loft, then through the loft is the entrance to the second bedroom. This worked out fine for us, since the fun uncle was fine with sleeping in the bunks with the kids, but we were expecting 3 bedrooms plus a loft. This may be important to other families. Overall we had a great stay and would return. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the fire pit outside. The inside fireplace was out of order.
our 2 teens were told they would have their own bedrooms. Because one of the "bedrooms" is the loft and does not have a door, and is the through way to the other bedroom, it was disappointing not to have the third bedroom. Otherwise, we had a great time!
Davis is a very quiet and small town. The cabin was severely outdated. For being told it would be Covid clean, we found dirty dishes in the cabinets, dust all over the shelves in the living room, weird stains on the sheets, and the oven interior was dirty. When we first got there with a late check in, we thought we were at the wrong house because the door wouldn’t unlock. Only after we went to a different door did we see a post-it on the other door interior saying that it sticks and to pull the handle up to get it to work. The coffee machine was unusable it was so gross. There is a huge list of rules to close the place out, you end up doing laundry, running the dishwasher, unplugged everything and taking trash up to the security area. Whoever was there previous didn’t unplug anything but being a stickler for rules I went to do that and there was an entire BISCUIT behind the counter! It was so filthy and outdated, it felt like nobody came to clean the place, they just folded the towels you end up washing and drying yourself before you go. It was supposed to be an anniversary splurge on a big cabin for the two of us and I couldn’t relax because of how unkempt it all was v how the pictures were online. Rather than fixing anything there were just post-it’s taped from the door to the dishwasher telling you things weren’t working correctly. The grill was unusable as it was also dirty and covered in mold on the exterior. If you’re looking for rooms with views, you won’t have any because most of the windows are water damaged and those that aren’t you end up seeing other cabins. We don’t have any disabilities but just a warning for those that do - there’s only stair access to get in and a tight spiral staircase upstairs. The only highlight was going to the next town over, Thomas, which has an amazing art shopping area, great restaurants, and beautiful places to hike.
Great location in a private community in Canaan Valley. Unfortunately there are some added fees associated with booking through Vrbo. House was comfortable but needs some attention in a few areas. Was in process of getting a new roof in between guests as we were there and doesn’t appear to be well insulated. Has heat but we didn’t need it, no AC. Otherwise my family and I enjoyed our stay. Fire pit and deck are great hangout areas.
The place was a little rough! No roof (it leaked in the living room) and the deck seems ready to collapse. That said, we still loved it. Quirky.

Avg cabin with no amenities
Dishwasher was not working, we called PM, no once came to take a look. There were dust & lots of spider webs inside cabin, especially near TV area. NO GRILL & Firepit without any sitting. High admin fee and cleaning fee for this property. The common lake area is very nice though.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The home (cabin) is located within the Timberline resort in a very private setting. It easily accommodated our two-family group of eight. All amenities one might need. The resort has beautiful lake and easy access to Dolly Sods Wilderness where we went for a day-long hike.
