About Tammy M. Leemon

I have been working in the Construction PM/Management field for over 17 years. I currently live and work in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Middle East). My career takes up most of my time in a day. But when I am not working, I enjoy the outdoors; including swimming, exercising at the gym, riding horses, walking, sitting on the beach and listening to the waves. I love living and being near the water. I like to read books and currently writing my own book. I love to meet new people. I mostly enjoy the quality time with my friends and family. I am adventurous and enjoy learning and trying new activities. When I have the time, I also love to travel. I have a Paso Fino horse, Quatro, which I enjoy riding when I am home.

I started my business, Snake Island Properties, in November 2009. I have enjoyed the hard work and learning process of all the details to a business. I like challenges and prospering in all that I do everyday.

In April 2014, I established a new business called Reve Calme, where I produce aromatherapy products such as pillow sprays and bath salts. I originally started the pillow sprays so I could give my guests who stay at the cabin a lovely gift of pillow sprays upon their arrival! Since April 2014, Reve Calme products are being sold in the USA, UAE and Southeast Asia.

Tammy M. Leemon purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Tammy M. Leemon chose Door County

My family and I have been vacationing in this area for over 20+ years, enjoying the winter/summer fishing seasons each year on the Bay of Green Bay (Sand Bay) and camping at Jellystone Park, which is nearby. My family built a home in this neighborhood 10 years ago and have been permanent residents in the last 2 years. My parents have been suggesting for many years that I acquire property in their beautiful and quiet neighborhood in Door County, especially waterfront property, as it is only on rare occasions that this kind of property is 'For Sale' in the neighborhood. So when this property was listed 'For Sale' my parents suggested I consider this home. Since I am living half way across the world, I was able to see the pictures and take the recommendations from my parents. At first glance of the pictures, I knew that this was the ideal home, a quaint log cabin, where others could enjoy while on vacation. Plus, this was a perfect investment for my recently established business. As this has been one of my goals in life to have my own business where I can accomodate others and allow my guests to take pleasure in what I am offering; while always striving to do better!

What makes this cottage unique

Enjoy all four seasons at Moonlight Magic. The Door County area has year-round activites for all visitors of any interest. Moonlight Magic has the beautiful waterfront view and is located so close to the water, that the only sounds you will hear are of the waves hitting the shoreline. Since it is located on a point, you will find the local wildlife who make their home in the woods. The area is filled with birch trees and pine trees. Enjoy the 3 sand beaches which are within walking distance to Moonlight Magic. Take a walk or bike around the tree-lined loop and smell the nature of the trees and flowers in the morning (I find the morning is the best time to experience the natural surroundings of the area, as your 5 senses will be over-whelmed). You will notice the friendliness of the locals who will wave and greet you as you pass by. There is a fire pit for night-time enjoyment, as it is located near the water's edge, so you can enjoy the fire and listen to the waves at one sitting.

Inside Moonlight Magic, we are continuing to acquire many books for the library, so you can enjoy some reading time. We have provided luxury bedding, bath towels, and bath soaps/lotions as an added pleasure. Moonlight Magic is complete with all new furnishings and electronics; including a flat screen tv, DVD, satellite TV and wireless internet. I have fully enjoyed selecting the interior furnishings for Moonlight Magic, as I selected all the furnishings as if I were a guest looking for comfort, excellent quality, and convenience. I have some decorations, such as the window treatments, which I had specially made in Abu Dhabi, UAE and carried half way across the world to Moonlight Magic. You will find other treasures, which I brought back with me, from my travels around the world, which are placed in Moonlight Magic. My main priority at Moonlight Magic is to make my guests feel special and have memories which will last a lifetime.

Beautiful views, well equipped kitchen

  • 4 of 5

The views from this cabin are spectacular, even on a cold rainy weekend.

The kitchen is the most sensibly stocked of any vrbo we've ever stayed at. I was able to cook for 10 without an issue.

Plenty of kid fun.

One complaint- the new curtains obstruct the amazing view - which was unfortunate.

It's not a long term stay option for us because it lacks washer and dryer.

Overall great trip. Thanks!

Perfect winter hideaway!

A charming retreat, sitting on top of peninsula jutting into bay. Everything at house to make stay comfortable has already been thought of and provided. Love the attention to detail.

Everything we hoped for & more

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was cozy with lots of extra little amenities we weren't expecting, including hot cocoa. The view of the bay was fantastic, and when we needed a little help, we were assisted very quickly. The open floor plan was so nice for a fun big gathering and communal meals. We really appreciated everything and would definitely come back if we are in the area again.

Everything was clean and welcoming

  • 4 of 5

The cabin had everything we needed. We had a blast playing games and walking around. Being right on the water was really nice and it was easy to get to and from all over Door County. A few downsides were the smelly water (buy water to use for everything), some of those silver bugs that live in the bathtub (easily removed before each bathing) and the electric wiring. I don't imagine the wiring was any different than other local properties, but as an electrician, my husband had a hard time sleeping due to his concerns. Needless to say, everything is still standing without incident and I would absolutely recommend it to others looking for a low budget rental with a perfectly relaxing atmosphere.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. I am happy that your family enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday at Moonlight Magic. I apologize that the water may have smelled. The area has a natural sulfur concentration in the water so when the water is not running consistently for a longer amount of time, this may smell may appear. But we rarely have any issues with smelly water as previous guests have not commented on this. I haven't seen any bugs in the bathtub previously, but they may have entered through the open doors or windows. In regards to the electrical, Moonlight Magic is inspected yearly by the State of Wisconsin to retain our seller's permit. The inspection is thorough and all aspects of the home are inspected in regards to health and safety. Our inspections have always passed without any issues. As an owner and host for my guests, it is very important for me to ensure that my guests are comfortable, have an enjoyable experience and feel safe. So I apologize if you and your family felt otherwise.

Cozy, charming, breathtaking views!

  • 5 of 5

Adorable, cozy cabin with a breathtaking view! Fully stocked with everything you may need! Deer and other wildlife roaming free! Charming! Memories made here!

Would be even better with a few mirrors added for getting ready in the bedrooms (only one bath), and a bit later checkout time.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review and recommendations for the cabin. The wildlife throughout the year are definitely a unique quality when staying at the cabin. The deer love eating the neighborhood flowers and shrubs in the warmer seasons. I can see where adding a few more mirrors in the bedrooms will be an advantage for getting ready. I will make sure to add a few mirrors as suggested. I apologize that you did not have a late checkout. Many guests ask if this is an option. Most times I can be flexible with this request if I do not have guests coming in back to back. In the future I will make more of an effort to inform my guests if this is an option, but I suggest an future guests just ask me!
