Breckenridge Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This condo is the best Ski-In, Ski-out location at the Breckenridge Ski Resort!

Spacious, airy, & clean, this bright Breckenridge, Colorado, condo feels like home the moment you walk into it. With over 710 sq. ft. of living space (66 square meters), it's much larger than most 1-bedroom condos in Breckenridge, which average 500 sq. ft. (46 square meters).

This upgraded 1-bedroom condo is on the Four O'clock Ski Run. You can actually ski to within steps of our front door. Our condo is located steps away from the Snowflake Chairlift, directly across the street from our condo! In just a few minutes from leaving this home you can be skiing fresh powder. In the summer, an easy foot trail starts next to the Snowflake Chairlift, where it follows a beautiful creek and climbs gently to a glimmering reservoir. Moose and other animals are often sighted grazing along the trail. (We love seeing them on these easy walks!)

If you're a skier or snowboarder, you'll love renting your equipment at Charter Sports, located next to the Snowflake Chairlift (across the street from our condo). Also across the street from our condo, you'll find the Breckenridge lift ticket booth. So, you may order your lift tickets ahead of your vacation, then pick them up at the ticket booth across the street from our condo on the first day of your vacation -- so convenient! A Spa also is located in this building across the street from our condo: they do Swedish Massage, Hot Stone & Deep Tissue Massage, body wraps, facials, nails, waxing, & more.

Our condo is only 3 blocks from Main Street in Breckenridge, the heart of town, with many shops & restaurants. If you prefer not to walk 3 blocks, you may reach the town's shops and restaurants by rental car, or via the free shuttle bus that picks you up and drops you off in front of our condo.

[Please note: To find out the costs to rent our condo, click on the "Send Email" button next to Tom's photo at right. Write the dates you want to stay in our condo and the number of people who'll be with you. We'll respond back to you quickly to confirm the dates of your trip & to let you know the total cost of your stay. We are excellent communicators and we respond fast so you can get our condo booked for your vacation promptly! Keep reading for more details on our spacious and conveniently located ski-in, ski-out home -- there's tons more info below!]

This home has a ground-level entry, with no stairs to climb or hallways to maneuver and it's steps from the parking lot. It's easy to unload coolers, skis, and gear: park your car right outside our front door. (We've always preferred that to having to drag our luggage through a lobby, up an elevator, then down a long, dark hallway.) This is easy unloading!

A free Breckenridge shuttle bus called 'Free Ride' stops in front of our condo complex. If you don't want to take the easy Snowflake Chairlift in front of our condo, the free shuttle bus can take you to base areas of the Breckenridge Ski Resort, including Peak 8, Beaver Run/Peak 9, and The Village, or take you to the gondola. The bus can also take you all over the charming town of Breckenridge (for shopping at the more than 200 stores on Main Street, which is only 3.5 blocks from our condo). Or take the bus to Breck Station, where you can catch the free Summit Stage bus to all of Summit County including the towns of Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne (where there's the huge Silverthorne Outlet Mall for avid shoppers!) or Keystone (where you can ski day and night!) To see a movie, check out the theaters in Dillon, about 20 minutes' drive away. If you're looking for convenience & comfort, this condominium is for you!

The sunny east-facing living room provides a dramatic stone-accented gas fireplace that makes this home warm and cozy & turns on with the flip of a wall switch. Nearby, a brand-new flat-screen TV with remote provides oversized TV viewing of over 75 channels, including 4 HBO channels & numerous sports stations so you won't miss the big game. (The bedroom has a second flat-screen TV!) There's a leather sofa with a Queen-sized bed in it, including an upgraded memory-foam mattress. Two of the world's most comfortable recliners allow you to relax after a fun day of skiing, biking, or shopping! Plus, you'll enjoy gorgeous views through our large windows that look over the valley to the mountains surrounding Breckenridge.

The open kitchen provides views into the dining area and living room. The kitchen offers upscale granite countertops and a breakfast bar highlighted by recessed can lights. It's fully equipped with microwave oven, full-sized refrigerator, smooth-top electric range and full-size oven, and automatic dishwasher. The dining area seats four comfortably, with two bar stools at the granite-topped breakfast bar providing additional seating. The spacious, sunny bedroom boasts two large windows, a new king-sized bed with a plush luxury mattress, a large dresser, oversized desk, walk-in closet, and a second flat-screen TV with remote.

Bring your laptop or smart phone or I-pad and use our complimentary WIFI (available through the condo complex). There's also an I-pod docking station to charge your I-Pod, or add speakers to your favorite I-Tunes, or utilize the AM/FM radio, if you prefer.

The condo comes with a washing machine and tumble dryer which are located in the home, in a separate closet near the bathroom. If you're attending a wedding in Breck, you can use our iron and ironing board; otherwise, don't bother! Nobody dresses up in Breckenridge -- not even for dinner! This is a resort town intent on allowing you to thoroughly enjoy your vacation! The bathroom includes bathtub, shower, toilet, & sink with an oversized vanity, mirror, and tile floors. Naturally, we provide fresh linens for the King bed & Queen sleeper, plus bath towels & hot-tub towels.

There are indoor & outdoor (under the gorgeous moon!) hot tubs on site. There's also a gas barbecue grill on the large communal deck, next to the hot tubs, for grilling your own steaks!

Did you know that Breckenridge Lift Tickets also are good at Keystone Ski Resort? We think Breck is best, but night & day skiing & snowboarding also are available at nearby Keystone. Stay at our Breck condo and you'll be able to ski in, ski out of the Breckenridge Ski Resort 1 day, then drive approximately 20 minutes (or take the free bus!) for a day of skiing or snowboarding at Keystone! You'll fall in love with the charming & authentic mining town of Breckenridge; it blows Keystone out of the snowbank! So instead of lodging in Keystone, stay in our condo -- it's only 3.5 blocks from downtown Breck. From our rental home you can enjoy a few hours at the nearby Keystone resort too to double your vacation fun! Or drive approximately 35 minutes to the famous town of Vail and its famous ski resort (which is at a lower elevation than Breckenridge Ski Resort -- so spring skiing is often best at Breck).

If you want to see spectacular mountain views, take the Imperial Chairlift at Breckenridge Ski Resort to the top of Peak 8: it unloads at 12,840 feet above sea level! (3913.6 meters above sea level!) This quad lift, the highest chairlift in North America, is for black diamond skiers only! But if you're a beginner or an intermediate skier you'll love all of the beautiful acres of ski trails (155 runs total) that are geared for your ski levels at Breckenridge! In summer and fall, you may ride up select chairlifts at Breckenridge then walk or ride your mountain bike down!

You'll love the luxury and convenience of this appealing condo! For pricing, click 'View Rate Details.' Check our calendar for available dates -- we fill up fast each ski and summer season! Don't forget the summer celebrations at Breck: July 4th includes a gorgeous -- huge! -- nighttime fireworks display; Breckenridge Oktoberfest; August's Stage 5 of the Pro Cycling Challenge in Breckenridge; and free summer concerts in Frisco, CO, 10 minutes away! In summer, walk the beautiful trail 3 blocks to the secluded lake, to fish for Rainbow trout. There's so much fun outside our condo door, there's not enough space to describe it all!

About Tom and Myra Kloppel

Tom was born in Denver, CO, and began skiing when he attended college at Colorado State University. (That's Tom, enjoying some cross-country skiing, also available in Breckenridge -- Hey, didn't we tell you the dress code is casual in Breckenridge!?) Tom obtained his Master's Degree at CSU, then went to Purdue for his Ph.D. in bio-chemistry, and that's where he met Myra, a Purdue undergraduate raised in Columbus, Indiana. They married in Indiana, then came to Colorado for work, Tom's extended family (Colorado pioneers who came here in covered wagons!), and the mountain lifestyle. Together, they've raised two children, who also enjoy the beauty of Breckenridge and the thrill of skiing and snowboarding in Colorado's gorgeous high country. Tom has been a downhill ski instructor at Breckenridge Ski Resort for many years, in addition to currently owning Colorado Real Estate and Property Management, Inc., where he helps people buy and sell homes in Summit County (which includes Breckenridge, Keystone, Frisco, and more) and in the six-county Denver-metro area.

Tom and Myra Kloppel purchased this condo in 2011

Why Tom and Myra Kloppel chose Northwest

We knew as a young married couple that someday we wanted to purchase a vacation home in Breckenridge. But we didn't want just any property; we wanted the best ski in, ski out location in the entire town. That's why we scrimped, and saved, and finally were able to purchase this spacious condo in the best location on the Breckenridge Resort mountain! No kidding -- it's a flat terrain walk across the street to the Snowflake lift. Other homes in the area may brag, but they're a difficult walk up the hill to the chairlift. We're right there -- the easiest walk to a chairlift in the entire Breckenridge ski resort, and the easiest access at the end of the ski day to our front door! We also love the fact that our skis hang on ski racks right inside our front door -- which means no long, time-consuming walk down a maze of hallways to get to a ski locker room, as required at the Beaver Run Resort rental condos. With our condo, you put your skis on your shoulder 6 steps from our kitchen table, and walk out the front door, straight to the chairlift! It's quick and easy! (Plus, if you own your own ski equipment, it's very soothing to see that your equipment is safely hanging on pegs inside our front door, within your eyesight! But as we've said before, if you'd rather rent your ski equipment from Charter Sports across the street from our condo, they will store that equipment free each night for you, so it's your choice!) Winter or summer this condo is awesome!

What makes this condo unique

We fell in love with this property first because of its location. (For years we'd drive to this condo complex, park in the parking lot for a minute or so, and dream of one day owning a home here.) Our condo with its king-sized bed is the most spacious 1-bedroom floorplan in the entire town of Breckenridge (the bedroom is huge -- not like those condos where you can barely walk around the queen bed)! Plus the views from the living room window make you feel as if you're in a secluded mountain chalet -- just sit in one of our recliners and enjoy views of the mountains, trees, and snow! (There's a clear view of Colorado's pristine beauty, with no other buildings blocking it from our windows!) You can hot tub indoors or outside at our place, and barbecue outdoors, or cook in your own well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops, watch the flickering flames of the gas fireplace, watch your favorite TV shows, and hike, kayak, bicycle, snowboard, and ski! (Or just shop and eat at great restaurants!) We love it here and you will, too!

Comfort and location!

  • 5 of 5

First off, the condo is super easy to get to. It is situated on 4 O'Clock Rd about 4 blocks from town. The walk in to town is easy and puts you right in the heart of downtown Breck. It is a straight walk uphill to return, but once you acclimate to the altitude, it's really not bad. The condo has all the comforts of home. Comfy furniture, well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, etc. Not sure if this matters to most, but the carpet is wonderfully thick and padded - welcomed after 10 -15 miles of hiking. Outside, you will find several hot tubs to choose from. The outside tub is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views of Peak 9 and 10. Visible from the bedroom window is the slopes of Peak 8, which you can follow for quite a long distance and hook up to other trails. Right across the street is the Peak 8 chair, which if you are into skiing, makes this the perfect ski in, ski out. We took advantage of the Snowflake trail as it was fall and we were there to hike. The condo is perfectly located to make day trips to Mohawk Lakes, Mt. Quandary, Hoosier Pass and Maroon Bells. We heard rumors of a moose that lives in the mountains right above the condo, but weren't lucky enough to see it. We will definitely be returning to Breck and this affordable, spacious home away from home will be our first choice of places to stay!

As a side note to anyone that enjoys food and trying new places like we do, Cool River Coffee House has a wonderful breakfast menu. The bagel sandwiches are phenomenal! They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so it limited the number of times we could eat there. Also, loved Eric's and Flip Side for laid-back, not your typical bar style burgers and bar food. All in all, this condo and cool town have it all!

Large condo and super clean!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this condo and it was AWESOME! We wanted R&R and went the week of Aug 27 during the off-season. There were probably 5 cars max in the parking lot the whole week. It was absolutely great. The Columbine Cafe for breakfast is a must! The condo has a very large bedroom, the bathroom is good size, and the living and kitchen areas were also very nice sized. It was a cool rainy week so when we were there we had the windows open to hear the rain and get the cool breeze (even turned on the fireplace). The only negative comments we read before we booked were about the lack of lighting because there are no overhead lights in the bedroom, closet, or living room. We are glad that didn't keep us from booking. Agree that it is a little dark in the condo in those areas (and especially the shower), but they have provided several lamps to help light the room. My only suggestion would be to change the bulbs to led bulbs to make it even brighter. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals and this was probably the cleanest one we've stayed at. Tom and Myra were so helpful and kind to us. We noticed after our first shower that the shower drain was clogged with hair... it still drained very slow, and was functional, so we just sent them a note to let them be aware that they might want to have it addressed prior to the next guests checking in. They had a plumber over there right away and had it taken care of in no time. Renters need to be aware that you should let the owners know when something is wrong. Most times they don't know something is wrong unless they are told by the people staying in the property! I am saving this property as a favorite and we will definitely stay there again when we are back in Breckenridge, and we will share this property with anyone going to the area. Thanks Tom and Myra!

Owner's Response: Hi Laurie and Derek! We can't thank you enough for your fabulous 5-star review of our Breckenridge Ski Resort condo! You are like me -- you said you were going to mark this condo as a "favorite" -- I do the same thing, but I put our favorite VRBO vacation homes in my cell phone; that way, when Tom and I are talking about making a trip, we can find the VRBO number easily in my cell phone to book it fast! You are awesome too for pointing out that owners of VRBO rental places like Tom and myself don't know if there is a problem unless our guests tell us. So we were very glad you sent us a quick message about the shower draining slow so we could (as you know) arrange to get our plumber over there pronto so you wouldn't have to deal with that issue any more during your vacation! (We were happy to get him over there fast for you, to make your experience in our condo the best it could be!) Yes, we try to check operating systems in the condo regularly, but since we don't shower there, nor do laundry there, etc., we have no way of knowing if there is a problem unless our guests tell us. Thank you again so much Laurie for pointing out that guests who share the need for a repair with the owners are helping us provide a better experience for the next guests -- and for you too, since we're so fast at getting vendors there to fix any problems! Do come back and enjoy our cool mountain climate (so awesome for comfortable summertime sleeping) again soon! Myra & Tom

Convenient location; great value; kind and friendly property owners.

  • 4 of 5

We spent the week of Labor Day in Tom and Myra's condo. It was easy to find and very convenient to downtown Breckenridge. It is an uphill walk from downtown to the condo, which provided a great way to get acclimated to the altitude! Wifi and television service were excellent. Kitchen is very well stocked with utensils and dishes. Given this is the tail end of the summer season, it was very quiet. We were the only ones in the hot tub when we used it.

Tom and Myra provided excellent communications and recommendations for restaurants, hikes, etc. We hiked the Lily Pad Lake trail (near Dillon), and rented bikes from Alpine Sports to ride from Vail Pass to Frisco. It was a fabulous week, and the weather was perfect.

Owner's Response: Hi Richard and Tracy! You two really know how to enjoy your vacations! Tom and I loved hearing that you biked from Vail Pass to Frisco! Isn't that the most spectacular bike ride?!! We've done it so many times (we also do the uphill bike ride from Frisco to Copper Mountain to the top of Vail Pass then downhill into the town of Vail, where the Vail Ski Resort is located). The way you did it is perfect for people who are not used to mountain elevations -- you call one of the bicycle shops in Breckenridge that will take you in a van to the top of Vail Pass, drop you and your rental bike off at the top of the pass, then they point you downhill in the direction of the town of Frisco (and Breckenridge, a few miles from Frisco). By riding this paved bike path from the top of Vail Pass to the town of Frisco, you get to enjoy some fabulous views and the downhill pathway means you hardly need to pedal! For people who love to bike but feel intimidated that mountain elevations might make them struggle uphill, this ride is perfect -- just sit on the bike, brake a few times when necessary, and guide it downhill! When you do need to pedal it's on flat terrain, so this ends up be an exciting ride with very little effort. Super fun! We often see yellow-bellied marmots sunning themselves in the rocks when we do this bike ride. Mountain bikers love riding all the dirt trails in our area, too; there's so much to enjoy in Breckenridge and the surrounding towns -- including Vail, about a 25- to 30-minute drive from our condo. Hiking in the area is so fun, too! The Lily Pad Lake trail is one of many fun hikes in the area. National Geographic Trail Map #108 is available at their online store; it shows specifics about how to get there and to other Summit County trailheads. (Or just take the Snowflake trailhead across the street from our condo and hike up to the small lake filled with rainbow trout; on this easy hike we sometimes see moose!) We're also glad to hear that after those outdoor adventures all day you came home to enjoy our well-stocked kitchen, our WIFI, and our two flat-screen TVs with tons of channels. There are so many things to do "off-season" in Breckenridge, no wonder people love this area in the summer and fall! Come back for another fun soak in our hot tub soon, Richard and Tracy! Myra & Tom

Owner's Response: Hi Geraldine & Tom! Thanks for your comments; we drop by to check on the cleaning crew's work often (and do minor touch-ups ourselves when we see their work is not up to our own cleaning standards), but since the blinds are always kept closed between guest visits, we rarely think to open the blinds when we're doing our quality-control checks and look out of the condo's windows! So I'm glad you pointed that out; we will now put that on our regular check-list. Our super-duper fall cleaning should take care of the windows and get them sparkling again! Meanwhile, enjoy this beautiful fall weather and come again soon to enjoy our condo's beautiful mountain views -- through some clearer windows next time! :-) Myra & Tom

Breck - Great Stay and Fun Times!

  • 5 of 5

Getting onto and off of the slopes was easy in this tidy, 1st floor, 1-Bedroom condo in Tyra. We were out and about for most of our ski vacation in Breckenridge, so we didn't use the kitchen for meal preparation, but it looked as though everything was available to the traveler who intends to eat in most of the time. The recliners in the living room were comfortable and fun, and there was way more seating that we needed for the two of us - the condo can hold a family of 4 comfortably. Nice eating area, comfortable bed, space for ski storage - this condo is well-appointed for a smaller skiing family. The printed materials with recommendations for restaurants and entertainment were very helpful. The condo is on the very precipice of showing its age - a bathroom update in a couple of years might be in order. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and feel that the unit deserves every one of the five stars we've awarded it. Do not hesitate to stay here - you'll be very happy with your choice. The skiing in early April is always awesome! - short lines, good snow, uncrowded slopes, availability in all restaurants, good gear and clothing sales in town.

Owner's Response: Hi Andrew and Ginny! Thanks so much for taking the time to write us that wonderful 5-star review! We appreciate you pointing out all of the comfortable, convenient, helpful, and fun features of our Breckenridge slope-side condo. We also loved that you pointed out that "the skiing in early April is always awesome! - short lines, good snow, uncrowded slopes, availability in all restaurants, good gear and clothing sales in town." I couldn't have said it better myself! Summer and fall guests have also told us they enjoy Breckenridge's many restaurants and fun activities (such as Dillon Reservoir 10 minutes away, with boats and kayaks for rent, windsurfing, parasailing, or the Jack Nicklaus-designed, 27-hole Breckenridge Golf Course -- it's so fun to golf at our elevation because your ball will fly further and straighter here! -- and so many hiking trails, fly fishing, touring historic Colorado, shopping at the Silverthorne Outlet Mall 20 minutes away, etc.) But you're the first to suggest that a bath remodel might be in order in a couple of years. So, about our bathroom: The good points are it has both a bathtub and a shower, so people who want to soak sore muscles after a hard day can enjoy a warm, relaxing bath that night. (Or book some tender loving care at The Spa Breckenridge, located in the Blue Sky building directly across the street from our condo!) Another good thing about our bathroom is it's got a large vanity (I guess only us "girls" care about space for makeup, curling irons, etc., but it is handy.) But even though we have a beautiful new shower curtain, you noted -- quite truthfully -- that the bathroom is clean but a bit dated. Our condo is rented out so frequently it's been difficult to find enough time to have a contractor in to remodel the bathroom. (That's a good problem to have!) We want you to know that we've moved your suggestion to the top of our "To Do" list, and hope to be able to make a "Ta-da!" announcement about some bathroom changes in the near future! Thanks again for all of your comments, and come back soon! Myra & Tom

Wonderful time in Breckinridge Tyra

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this unit. It was very nicely decorated. We had a family of 4. Parents and 2 kids, one was a teenager. The kids slept on the sleeper sofa and they were right. It is pretty darn comfortable. Nice couch too. The living room furniture was really comfortable and we sat and watched tv together a lot.

The bedroom was gigantic so it had plenty of room to store luggage. We had room in the dresser and closet to put away clothes for the entire family. Blankets were a plenty and heat worked great. Kitchen-well stocked. We even baked cookies and there were cookie sheets.

Location-great location. It is a SHORT wall to the lift. Like down a drive way. Charter sports is right there too. I should have listened to rented our snowboard gear there because it was so close but Christy Sports had kids free if you purchased adult gear for 4 or more days. You can ski down the run right in front of the units.

The trolley system was great. When we wanted to go right to peak 9, we did not even take snowflake lift. Breckenridge down town would be a bit of a hike. Just take a trolley.

Owners were super nice. We had one question and when I texted, they texted back immediately. Gave us tons of info on the area. Very friendly.

We will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Hi Kevin & Janine, Since you're a family of 4, it was great to get your awesome review saying you had such a comfortable, relaxing vacation in our roomy Breckenridge condo! Many Breckenridge condos are so small they barely hold 2 people, let alone 4. That's 1 reason why Tom and I saved our money to purchase this spacious condo with its huge bedroom -- it's big enough for that king-sized bed, big dresser, full-sized desk, luggage rack, upholstered chair and walk-in closet. As you so kindly pointed out, our sleeper sofa is comfortable, too; we put an upgraded mattress in it, and the couch is a lovely leather one that's great for watching TV. (Not to mention those two super comfortable recliners in the living room!) We also made sure the new coffee table was beautiful yet lightweight, so it would be easy to move to one side when you're ready to unfold the sofa sleeper. You also noted that our condo heat works well; we keep the thermostat at 65 & the condo is plenty warm at that temperature, but if you want it higher, feel free to turn up the heat. (We caution people that our condo is super warm and well-insulated, so they should not turn up the heat until they've tested it at 65 degrees, which is super comfortable.) I think it's also great that there are 2 flat-screen (big) TVs in our condo. Tom and I like watching TV together most nights, but if there's a game on he wants to see and I'd rather watch HGTV, we can go to separate rooms and both enjoy our shows! (Having two TVs works great if you have children, too.) We're so glad you used our cookie sheets! It's so easy to go to the grocery (5 blocks away) & buy Toll House cookies in a package and break the pre-made dough apart and bake them fresh in our oven! Fun! Tom & I also loved your quote: "It is a short walk to the lift. Like down a drive way." Yes, isn't that one of the best attributes of our condo? Plus the free bus stop across the street that goes to Peak 9 or all around Breck! We recommend renting gear at Charter Sports across the street. We only advise this because we know when we travel, after the luggage & coats (and maybe a cooler/laptops) go in the car, if you then rent skis miles from our condo, you may have a hard time re-packing the rental car with boots, poles, & skis! It's just easier to rent ski gear steps from our condo, then either store the skis at Charter Sports nightly & pick them up the next morning, or better, hang the skis on our 4-slot interior ski rack! Come back soon!

Walk 3.5 blocks to town, or take the free shuttle bus, called 'Free Ride' that picks you up in front of our condo complex! Ride the 'Free Ride' bus to Breck Station (5 blocks away), then transfer to the 'Summit Stage' bus that takes you to the Silverthorn Outlet Mall in Silverthorn, approximately 20 minutes' drive!
