Located within a short walk of the ski slopes (the walk takes approximately 5-8 minutes - with skis) of Purgatory Resort, this vacation rental is great for groups who plan to spend a lot of time on the mountain, whether skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, or hiking. The shops and restaurants of the resort itself are can easily be reached on foot, while the city of Durango is less than 30 miles south.
The interior of this charming townhouse is family friendly and we have gone to great lengths to provide comfort and amenities that will make your stay memorable. Clean furnishings, a large open living area, amenities galore, outdoor furniture & a grill, and mountain decor create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
In the living room, a two comfy sofas & an oversized ottoman invite you to put your feet up and lounge while you browse the channels on the flat screen TV or catch up on social media using the complimentary Wi-Fi. During the colder months use the blankets provided throughout our home to snuggle up as you read a book or rest after a day spent making memories.
After a long day on the mountain, the fully equipped kitchen is ready to help you prepare a hearty, home-cooked meal. A clean and efficiently organized kitchen make it easy to cook for your group. Sit down to eat at the dining room table, or grab one of the three chairs at the kitchen counter. There is a great bench and outdoor furniture to add to the seating.
From the dining area, step out onto the covered outdoor patio. A gas grill is available if anyone in your group wants to show off their barbecuing skills. There also a small table and multiple chairs, making this a prime location to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We have a hammock you can string up and a gas fire pit for added ambiance.
With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, this vacation rental can accommodate up to eleven guests (there is one bed in the living room, two full size beds/bunks in one room, a twin daybed, a queen futon, a queen couch sleeper, a playpen and two chairs that convert to a twin mattress. There is not a maximum number of adults (except the capacity of 11, not counting an infant), but it is a comfy, cozy 900 sq. foot condo with only one full bath, so please keep that in mind when booking. We want you to enjoy the space as much as possible and ONLY you will know how many adults in the above space equals comfort for your party.
The area around Purgatory Resort is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true. In the winter, you’ll have access to 1,360 acres of snowy wonderland, perfect for downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and dog sledding. Give your legs a break when you go for a sleigh ride or a snowmobile adventure. We have lots of literature on the amenities available and after booking I’d be happy to help you with our personal recommendations.
Visiting in summer? Start your morning with a few laps in the shared pool, then head out for a scenic hike or an adrenaline-fueled afternoon of mountain biking. Go for a horseback ride, or take the day off and spend a few hours in Durango shopping and perusing the beer and dining scene.
You will have access to a shared pool, hot tub and fitness facility.
Please note this is our personal home away from home. We are a family of six and sports keeps us from enjoying the condo more often. We ask that you treat the house as if it was yours. We also have neighbors we need to get along with for the foreseeable future and so keeping respectful hours, cleaning up trash and being a generally nice person would be appreciated. We are very close by and will do everything we can to keep you comfortable. We do have some personal items clearly labeled as such and we ask that you please let them undisturbed.
We are in a bottom floor condominium, so access is easier, but on a rare occasion we do hear our neighbors upstairs. It’s never disturbed us, but in important to note.
The crawl space for the entire unit is behind one of the doors in our place, so if there was an emergency the property manager would need access.
You will use a personal code sent 1-2 days prior to your arrival to the August Lock to open the door.
We have four kids so we understand accidental things and wear and tear, but negligence or theft is different. You are limited to two cars in the parking lot of the condo and will have parking permits provided for you upon opening the condo. These are a $10 replacement charge each if you take them or lose them (we have to purchase more from our property association).
