Our beautiful ground floor condo in the popular Kihei Akahi is privately owned and we are proud to call it our second home. We have provided all necessary amenities to make the kitchen and unit fully functional.
This ground floor condo opens up to a lanai with a garden view of plumeria trees, hibiscus and palms – the perfect extension of the living room. The security lanai door enables easy access directly across the lawn to south Kihei’s beaches, to the two pools, pool-side BBQs, and the tennis court. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, and afternoon trade winds keep the condo cool.
The condo provides Hawaiian furnishings, décor featuring local artists, an in-unit full sized washer/dryer, one reserved parking space, a security safe, stereo, and beach gear (chairs, towels, boogie board, water straws, cooler). Other amenities include free telephone calls to the U.S. and Canada, high-speed Wi-Fi internet access, and a LCD flat screen Smart TV with cable. Recycling bins are located next to the tennis court.
Location – Kihei Akahi is located directly across the street from Kamaole Beach II, a great white sand beach great for swimming, snorkeling (around the two rocky points at the north and south ends of the beach), and for watching sunsets. Many fantastic restaurants, shops, and grocery stores are within close walking distance from the condo, and several open-air restaurants are directly adjacent to the property.

Kihei Roomy 1 bedroom, Convenient Area, Great Beach Access
We enjoyed our stay in this true 1 bedroom with all the amenities. Kamaole Beach 2 (there are 3) just across the road. Apartment has extras including sturdy beach chairs.
Ground floor patio outside the living room. Very pleasant grounds at this VRBO. Check in easy and office folks helpful. Highly recommend and good price. Kihei area is centrally located to the sights and beaches. Very enjoyable stay at this apartment.
This is our second year in a row staying in this unit c217 at the Kihei Akahi, our 5th year at this complex. This is a neat, well kept, well stocked unit. Ground floor lanai access is a bonus. The complex has great staff & is very well looked after. Great location, within walking distance to beaches, shopping & dining. We will be back!
Nice Complex But Wouldn't Choose This Unit Again
This is a great location. It is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The beach is right across the street and you don't need a car to have a great time. The complex has a variety of units that are individually owned (but managed through agencies) so the quality and amenities vary greatly. On the plus side, this unit has a nice clean shower and bathroom. On the negative side the furniture is dated and worn. The light coloured carpet is not a good choice for a rental unit on the ground floor. A hardwood or tile floor would have looked so much better. But the worst thing was the bugs. I was told that the units were 'treated' regularly, but I was totally grossed out by the bugs. I am assuming they were cockroaches. I arrived late on a Thursday and it was Friday night by the time I realized what a problem they were. Particularly in the kitchen. There were crawling on the counter, in the sink, inside dishes and I even found one in the cutlery drawer. I informed the office on Saturday morning and was asked to take a picture and send it in, although the problem couldn't be dealt with on the weekend. I took the picture and sent it to the email supplied by the office. It kept bouncing back, so I sent a second email to the rental agency. Like I said, the kitchen was the worst, and I stopped using it and spent the rest of my holiday eating out. An unexpected expense and a hassle seeing I specifically wanted a unit with a kitchen to prepare some of my own meals. The office told me, the unit could be sprayed if the owner agreed, but that sounded rather toxic, so I told them to wait until after I left.
My daughter and her family stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom unit that was facing the beach. Their unit was immaculately clean and they didn't have any problem with bugs. So do your homework and choose wisely.
Aloha, and we are so sorry for your experience. As you know, everyone loves the tropics, including bugs. This is managed by keeping a very clean living space and making sure that all food is properly sealed. We stayed in our unit for two weeks immediately after your stay, and this is no longer an issue. Additionally, the living room furniture has been replaced as of Dec. 11, 2017, including a new sofa, arm chair, media console, LED Smart TV, dining table and chairs. The carpet is cleaned regularly, and the kitchen and bath remodel included tiled floors. If any guests have questions, please feel free to contact us. Mahalo!
clean and stocked with anything you could need/use
We loved our stay in Maui, Kihei had so much to offer, the beach across the street was fun for boogie boarding or watching the sunrise/sunset. Lots of little shops, places to eat and relatively close to Pulani highway and bigger beaches. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom adequate. Would stay here again!!
A wonderful home away from home
We have stayed here 3 years in a row and we have booked it for a 4th. This time we had issues with the t.v. and found out property managers didn't tell the owners so we did. The owners were very apologetic and we just love this place and don't want to stay anywhere else. It's a clean, beautiful and spacious unit with everything you need for a day at the beach or to chill in the condo. Thank you Tom & Karissa we appreciate you Much Aloha and Mahalo
