The building (Kihei Akahi D) is situated at on a spacious 8-acre campus with 2 swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, shuffleboard court, barbecue facilities, lush tropical landscape, and steps away from shopping and restaurants. It is located just across the street from one of the area's most beautiful family-friendly beaches, Kamaole Beach Park II, with life guards on duty daily.
Nearby the famous Kamaole Shopping Center is within walking distance and offers many of the best local shops and restaurants. Also nearby you will find the resort towns of Wailea & Makena, as well as several of the island's best world-class golf courses. We're 25 minutes from Kahului airport. The unit (#511 in building D) is managed professionally year-round by AA Oceanfront. It is situated three units away from the elevators, so while it affords easy access to the elevators for carrying your luggage & supplies from your car, you won't hear any of the elevator traffic.

About Ari Levitt
My name is Gil. I am a 75 years old retired physician who specialized in otolaryngology in the Seattle area. I am married with 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren. I initially bought this condo in 2003 as a place for my children and grandchildren to stay in Maui with their families when they would come to visit with me. They have always loved staying here and I fixed it up so that they would have a lovely, comfortable place to stay, with all of the amenities of home. They especially love the unit's South Kihei location, and its closeness to restaurants, shopping, great beaches, and snorkeling.

Why Ari Levitt chose Kihei
It is close to the airport, in the city of Kihei, and near Wailea & Makena with all of the comforts and amenities of these two resort communities. It has a great beach just in front [see picture], with life guards on duty daily, and a beautiful reef for top-notch snorkeling and the viewing of tropical fish & turtles (and even the occasional octopus!). During whale-watching season (from late December to early May), you can watch humpback whales and dolphins breaching and playing right off the surf. The area itself is also well-known for it's fantastic climate -- with plenty of sunshine and fresh balmy breezes off the Pacific -- as well as for the beautiful views of Heleakala (the volcanic center of the island) just behind us.
What makes this Condo unique
I don't need a car most of the time and can easily walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The weather is great in South Maui which is located in a sun belt with less rain than on the rest of the island. I love the snorkeling just across the street. The unit has everything I need for myself and for my family. The lush grounds have 2 large swimming pools, 2 tennis courts and barbeque facilities which our family loves to use.

Great location. Great view

This apartment is very nice. The expansive view on the front balcony is beautiful. It was coolish while we were there so we didn't need the ac and there was a constant nice breeze going through. The ceiling fans helped keep it cool as well. The bed was very comfortable and the couch was too. The only two things missing from this really excellent home are a beach umbrella and plastic dishes to use at the grill/pool area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The view is the best we've had at this complex and we enjoyed spending lots of time on the balcony.
The location of this complex is great. The grounds are beautiful and well tended. The pool areas are very nice but the pools are not heated and tend to be freezing in December. But we are beach people so we don't care, and the beach is a 2 minute walk. The parking is convenient and assigned so you always have a spot. The elevators are always quickly available. All the other people there were very nice.

Condo is a little sparse on extras like beach chairs coolers etc like the other unit we stayed in. Condo needs upgrade, rust around bath tub and a few things like that but a great stay. Would stay at surf side again but a different unit

Great place, but bedroom really warm!
Nice amenities, really impressed, but as stated no A/C in bedroom, and because it's so cut off from the living room, it stays really hot in there all night. Not sure how to fix it, since there doesn't appear to be an easy way to add one in there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 nights..wish we had stayed an extra few days rather than spend another 8 nights in Waikiki..
The condo was very comfortable,great views and very quiet.
My only suggestion is that the bedroom needs to be darker,as too much light comes in at night making it hard to sleep.
The grounds are excellent and the pool brilliant...sometimes even having it to yourself.
Plenty of place to eat and also plenty of Happy Hours in places such as the Monkey Pod and 5Palms.
Plenty of great walks around the beaches, and plenty of turtles to see .
We would thoroughly recommend this condo and hope we can come back sooner, rather than later .

Additional information about rental rates
Options that may or may not incur an additional charge: 1) A rental damage protection fee of $31.25 is required. This covers accidental damage caused to the property up to $1,000 (Damage must be reported by guest prior to check out) 2) A 3% surcharge will be added for any payments made by credit card, or you may simply pay by check or money order to avoid this fee. (Please Note: Personal checks will only be accepted for reservations greater than 60 days out) 3) For any bookings that exceed 28 nights, a $500 refundable damage deposit must be processed on Visa or MasterCard. This deposit will be refunded within 7 business days if there is no damage, excessive cleaning needed, or excessive energy use. 4) There is a $200 cancellation fee if reservation is cancelled 30 days or more prior to arrival date, plus a $40 reservation fee is retained. If the reservation is cancelled within 30 days of arrival, there is no refund. If the unit can be re-rented, the balance or prorated balance may be refunded. Payment Terms: 1) A deposit of 25% of the total rental amount (or a minimum of $271.25) will be taken at the time your reservation is made. 30 days prior to arrival, the total balance is due, and will automatically be charged to the credit card on file unless other payment arrangements have been made. 2) The minimum deposit of $271.25 must be processed on Visa or MasterCard. If paying the remaining balance by check, it is due in full 60 days prior to arrival. There is a $35 NSF fee for checks not honored by the bank.
