Kona Magic Sands Condo

Estudio situado directamente frente a la playa de Magic Sands, con cocina y baño recientemente renovados. La habitación está separada de la sala de estar / comedor por una pared con una abertura arqueada. Notarás los pequeños toques que honran a la tortuga marina en toda la unidad y es por eso que la llamamos Hale Honu o Casa de la Tortuga.

Su lugar de estacionamiento está convenientemente a pocos pasos de la puerta de entrada. El complejo es un pequeño y pintoresco complejo de 10 unidades y está ubicado justo al otro lado de la calle de Magic Sands Beach (también conocida como la playa de arena Desaparecida). Esta es una gran playa para nadar cuando está en calma. Cuando hay olas, solo es bueno para nadadores experimentados. Temprano en la mañana es el mejor momento para nadar y ver tortugas en esta playa. El complejo también tiene una lavadora / secadora que cuesta $ 2 por carga para cada uno.

La cocina fue remodelada recientemente y tiene gabinetes Khaya (caoba africana) hechos a medida completamente nuevos. El baño también fue remodelado con una cabina de ducha de buen tamaño con una ducha o rociadores para el cuerpo. La cama y el colchón también son nuevos.

Hay periodos entre noviembre y marzo en los cuales la playa puede tener menos arena de lo normal debido a las grandes olas que sacan la arena de la playa. Una vez que el océano se aplasta, la arena se deposita de nuevo en la playa en el transcurso de una semana más o menos. No hay forma de predecir cuál será el estado de la arena de la playa. Cuando nade en esta playa o en cualquier playa de Hawái, debe escuchar a los socorristas. Cuando hay poca o nada de arena, la playa es mucho más peligrosa.

Hay un gran jardín delantero de la terraza y se puede ver la puesta de sol desde la terraza. Puede ver el agua del Lanai pero no puede ver la playa, ya que tenemos setos de Hibiscus para proporcionar privacidad, ya que la playa puede estar ocupada y los setos proporcionan privacidad de las personas que caminan y pasan por allí.

La unidad tiene capacidad para 2 personas y no tiene aire acondicionado. Hay dos ventiladores de techo.

A great place for a couple to enjoy the beach! Always entertaining people watching and swimming (conditions dependent) across the street at Magic Sands. Bed was comfortable and kitchen was supplied with all that we needed to cook simple dinners. We are happy without AC, just being warm and using fans to keep comfortable was perfect for us. Short drive up the road to downtown Kailua-Kona. Short drive south to Kahalu’u Beach park for excellent snorkeling. All around good time!

My fiancé and I absolutely loved this place. It was a perfect place for a couple. We have been to the big Island 3 other times and this was our favorite so far. Clean. Quiet. Across the street from magic sands beach. Fully loaded kitchen with anything you need. Lanai had water view, could hear waves, yet hidden with the surrounding garden so was private. Robert was awesome…helpful and accommodating to our flight times. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This place is a 1 minute walk to the beach, we loved hanging out there whenever we could. The place has everything you need for the beach (towels, boogie board, floaties, chairs, umbrella, cooler). Great view of the sunset from the lanai. The kitchen is great for cooking, we will definitely be coming back.

The apartment was clean and exactly as described. While there's no A/C, there are many fans and windows that made it easy to stay cool. The kitchen was well-equipped too.

Great Comfortable Active Place

Directly across from Magic sands beach you could hear the waves at night. Very nice. The beach became swimmable for us amatuers when the sand came back Mid March. I swam with the turtles, Locals always swam. Truely great location not just due to the Magic Sands beach but the great snorkeling and surfing at Kahalu'u just a mile south and the Kona Trolley runs from North Kona (Target) down to the Keauhou Shopping center - even to the airport by jumping bus lines. We mostly went without a car. Very walkable area. Just a very fun and comfortable place to be.

Beach Condo worked for us!

Fantastic White Sands Beach Location! We really enjoyed our stay here in Kona, our first time to the big island! With easy access to the beach, this condo has a great kitchen, and almost everything we needed, except beach towels. For Owner's Eyes: There are also a few deferred maintenance items that should be addressed, as well. 1- patio door handle needs tightening 2- bathroom sink draining very slowly 3- fan/light controllers may need new batteries (work intermittently) 4- beach umbrella spine hinge found broken 5- snorkel to mask strap holder found missing on the large mask All of the above did not deminish THE GREAT TIME WE Had!!! Just what I hoped for!

This was a really great place to stay and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. Robert was a gracious host and very helpful with fast responses for any questions. The condo itself is lovely and very tasteful. The quality of all the materials, from the linens to cookware to snorkel gear, was better than I expected, but that goes to show the care in which Robert has put into his place. I love this location and would absolutely stay here again. I particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the lanai and listening to the birds singing and surf pounding. For those who may be concerned about no air conditioning, I would suggest that not having AC helps with acclimating to the weather and humidity. We left the fans on the whole time and it was fine. Thank you for the courtesy and use of your beautiful home!

A great spot for some time away

The condo was exactly what I needed to live pretty simply in Kona for a couple weeks. The kitchen had all of the appliances I needed to cook a lot for myself and the airflow from the ocean kept the place nice and cool all day. There was an awesome beach and restaurant right across the street for when I wanted to get out too. The ocean was like a real life sound machine the nights I slept with the doors open which was pretty cool. Robert was extremely responsive and even checked in via text part way through the stay.

The property was not as clean as I would have liked, the floor had clearly not been mopped and there were a lot of dead bugs on the floor. There is also no AC in the unit so it is very warm. However, the owner is very responsive and the location is great, we really just used the place to sleep so 4/5 stars for sure.

Clean, well-equipped, close to the beach

Excellent property right next to the beach. The beach is right across the road. Safeway/farmers market/Kailua downtown are all within a 10-minute drive. Property is well-equipped, with a toaster oven, coffeemaker, all sorts of cooking utensils and lots of beach gear. There's a hose outside so you can rinse your feet off the sand before going in. It does get hot in the middle of the day, as there's no AC, but you have multiple fans at your disposal to help cool down. We were mostly on sightseeing trips during the day so it wasn't a big deal. In the evening you can open the windows and let the breeze cool everything down. Also note that the beach location has some negatives to it as well. Close to sunset you'll have people that park across the road and blast loud music from their cars. It's not too annoying when doors are closed, and they leave soon after it gets dark. Birds also get very loud at nearby trees in the morning (4-5am) so if you're a light sleeper you should bring some earplugs. Additionally, Robert sent us a wonderful guide book about Big Island. Called "Hawaii Big Island Revealed" it showed us some points of interest which we added to our day trips, which allowed us to see some hidden gems of the island. Overall we were very happy with the stay on the Big Island.

Just the Best

We have stayed in this condo complex before and the visit is always wonderful. The location, across from the park/beach can't get any better! Having a parking spot, laundry facilities, lanai, and beach accessories makes for a great time. The updated inside is great! especially the kitchen!! The floors might need an upgrade but overall are fine. The activities at the beach are loud sometimes but pretty much over by 10-11PM. We hope to stay here again!

Magic Sands Beach

Wonderful condo/apt for two. Exceptionally clean, neat and ready with everything we needed and more. The furnishings and decor was outstanding. Walk across the street to Magic Sands Beach and short drive to Kailua/Kona downtown and nearby Keauhou Plaza for food, fun, and shops. Easy access to Ali'i Drive to motor any direction for daily adventure on the wonderful Big Island. We have traveled to the Big Island almost every two years and sometimes more than once a year and this is the best condo ever. Robert C, the owner is so gracious sharing this with others. The kitchen appliances are outstanding. In fact, I would like them in my home. And, he sent us our favorite book "Big Island Revealed" which is our go to every time we visit the Island.

We live in San Diego and love going to Kona every chance we get. There is always something new to explore. We only recently began vacation renting our condo as it was previously a long term rental. So we renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

I love the Ocean so I love the location of our condo and I hope you will enjoy it also. It is nice to be able to just walk across the street and go for a swim, play some volleyball on the beach or just sit in a beach chair and have a drink. Once daylight surrenders to evening there is a great sunset to enjoy along with the sounds of the beach.
