Summer family get together

The property worked great to bring our family (with grandchildren) together for a relaxing week with beautiful views from the deck and pier and plenty of room to relax.

2025 Family Vacation

Even though there were houses fairly close, the property felt secluded and was extremely quiet. It was very clean when we arrived and the kitchen was well stocked with needed items. The only issue we had was getting enough air upstairs to the bedrooms in order to be somewhat comfortable; in order to do this it was freezing downstairs most of the time. But overall it was a beautiful house, the numerous tables where very useful for a family of 13. We can't wait to return for next years family vacation.

Labor Day getaway

Overall this was a good getaway for us. The house was spacious. The check in and check out hours are weird. Check in at 4pm and check out at 8am. Which means you’re basically losing two days of stay. We asked for a late check out but never got a call back. The location is beautiful and overall this was a decent stay.

It is a beautiful location with water on 3 sides. We bring two boats one for fishing one for tubing. Plenty of room to dock them. Sometimes tv and Internet go off.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful home on a gorgeous lake. The home has 5 bedrooms plus a large loft so it can sleep a ton of folks! There are three seating areas/couches and three dining areas so it's a great home for family reunions etc. Kitchen is roomy and well-stocked with everything you need. Bring groceries since buying them in town is pricy and the home doesn't have basics like salt/pepper etc. The property managers were very helpful and they have a local office a quick 5-minute drive into town in case you need anything. We stopped by with questions a couple of times and they were very friendly and helpful. We're already booking our trip back for next year!

NYE stay

The cabin is nice (a bit oddly laid out) likely due to an addition, but definitely the nicer end of homes I've stayed at over the last 30 years. Master bedroom was freezing cold at night, despite trying to turn up the thermostat - it took us an additional night to find the extra blankets. We paid the pet fee to bring our dog and we were told to clean up after her (we did). However, it is clear that nobody else has done so as the backyard was full of dog "deposits" from past guests. My biggest gripe though, is that for the price, we were given only two "pods" for the dishwasher, one partial roll of papertowles and expected to bring our own bathroom towels. This was under the guise of lack of "manpower" but we had bath mats for the floors....Based on what we paid, providing towels to dry ourselves off isn't too much to ask (nor would be a few bottles of shampoo), The property is very nice, fire pit was great and view wonderful. The kids had a nice time, just wish we had had some snow and ice to go along with our trip (what a weird year weatherwise!)

Lakeside Privacy

This is a large home which allowed the group of nine of us to spread out. I loved that there was a separate room with a TV towards the back of the house for those who were gamers. There was plenty of dishes etc. in the kitchen. I enjoyed the decor and the artwork in the house. There was some confusion as to which day and where the garbage should go out and when I called they told me the wrong day of the week. But we were able to get it out on the correct day-but they should mention that it is picked up very early. All in all we had fun and it's a lovely house. We used the same rental company to rent a pontoon which was dropped off the day day we got there and picked up the day we left. That was a big plus and I would recommend doing that if you are interested. Also the listing does not mention the bunk room in the basement for extra sleeping space if needed. It might be a plus to know that. The AC could be a little stronger in the upstairs bedrooms. But all in all it's a great house for a larger group.

Very spacious and easy access to the trail system All was great except the Garbage was never picked up from the previous renter. We had to place all our garbage bags in the garage because the two dumpsters were overloaded. Outside of that it was great!

Almost wished we would have purchased it when it was on the market a few years ago. The only true drawback is the noise from J. Usually we are there in the summer and the leaves provide a great noise buffer, but with the leaves dropped, it is an unbelievable difference.

Location great but house needs more lights, painting and cleaning.

This property is in need of carpet/sofa/tile cleaning. Everything was functional but smelled musty. Caught a mouse under the kitchen sink. That cabinet needed a serious cleaning as there looked to be mouse droppings in there. The deck is fabulous but has areas that could be dangerous for small children and dogs.

Wedding weekend

Beautiful, gorgeous home surrounded by water on 3 sides. Size was more than large enough to accommodate 5 couples. The wrap around deck with views of the lake were beautiful, and peaceful. The pier/dock and access to the lake made for easy access to water , Ans the benches allowed for tranquil and relaxing views of the water. If you are into activity, there are paddle boards and kayaks to be active and have fun on water. Indoors the kitchen was spacious and everything you need is there to prepare a meal. Plenty of places to sit and lounge. The wrap around bar was fantastic. Would stay here again!

The dock lights and power at the dock did not work this trip.We did not have live tv for the entire week. We don't go on vacation to watch tv, but we do like to see the news in the morning and also at night. Problems weren't resolved during our trip.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I and our daughters family spent a week in this large vacation home. Beautiful deck and piers and manicured grounds. We had a lot of fun catching panfish from the deck, we had 4 grandkids with us ages4,6,9 and 11 and they all enjoyed getting one after the other and collecting them on the boats live well before putting them back into the water. We caught northers and bass on Pickerel Lake, my son in laws first significant catch in his life. Had a great time in a large well equipped vacation home, outside and inside fires were great in the evenings! Only issue, TV did not work at all.

Great place, very comfortable. We had a wonderful time with friends.

Property was great. Here are a few suggestions. 1. Your kitchen picture on VRBO showed a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen. It was there but did not work. Should take it out of the picture. 2. First floor bathroom has a problem with the shower Hot/cold control. 3. We left Charcoal in the deck bin. 4. Outside light near the lake was on the whole time. We could never figure out how to turn it off. Didn’t seem to have a sensor. 5.. need a light in front of garage. Dangerous when going down steps at night, cant see lower steps.

Family vacation in the north woods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was very well maintained and had everything we could want available for us. It even had two kayaks and a paddle boat. Plenty of room for 4 families a total of 7 adults and 5 children. Our pontoon boat was in excellent condition. We loved the convenience of having it tied to our pier when we arrived and leaving it there when we left. I loved my early morning coffee on the deck and we all loved our fire and smores in the evening. Wonderful family memories were created this summer at Pickerel Lodge.
