FAQs - Your Questions Answered:
NOTES FOR YOUR STAY:
Bear Country: Bear sightings are common in the area. Both small and large bears have been spotted. Respect their space and enjoy the wildlife from a safe distance.
Mountain Drive Ahead: Our cabin is perched at the VERY TOP of Kings Ridge mountain, requiring a scenic 7-minute drive on paved roads from the bottom to the summit. Be ready for curvy spots, but trust us, the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile!
Cleaning Protocols: Your safety is our priority. Our cabin is diligently cleaned by a local company servicing hotels in the area. Sanitization practices include:
Hot Tub: Drained, cleaned, and refilled after every guest. Fresh Bromine ensures proper sanitization.
Linens: Bedding, towels, and linens laundered in high-temperature settings exceeding recommended standards.
Home: Micro-Ban™ and Lysol™ used on surfaces, along with anti-microbial and disinfectants. Routine inspections ensure quality assurance.
Fireplace Operation: Our cast iron stove fireplace, integral to the antique logs' charm, runs on propane and operates from October to March. The control is a timer on the hearth's side—avoid touching any other part during operation.
Weather Considerations: Cancellations due to weather will not be permitted. In snowy or icy conditions, 4 Wheel Drive or Snow Chains are highly recommended.
Power Surges: Gatlinburg's mountainous terrain can cause power surges, triggering the fire alarm. If this occurs, it will sound briefly and stop. Please be aware during your stay.
Ladybugs and Millipedes: Ladybugs were introduced to control the pine beetle, while millipedes are common and harmless. Due to their ecological role, specific treatments are restricted. Your patience with these natural elements is appreciated.
