So idyllic it defies description – the best of both worlds in the prestigious Meadow View Heights in the West End. Nine acres of privacy and luxury in a pristine nature preserve overlooking Shank Painter Pond and Herring Cove, bordering the National Seashore. A renter's son said "The house is in the middle of nowhere and the edge of everything." Three minute bike ride or ten to 15 minute walk to Provincetown’s best restaurants with a path to Herring Cove Beach. Spectacular sunset views over the pond and ocean. Glorious views of water from every window – and two bedroom windows with views of Pilgrim’s Monument. Morning coffee on the side porch watching the birds and wildlife, cocktails on the front deck enjoying the sunset, luxuriating on the overstuffed furniture in the great room with soaring cathedral ceilings. Relax in this peaceful setting. Our home is beautifully appointed, gourmet kitchen, open floor plan, granite counters, large bedrooms, central a/c, wireless Internet, parking galore and dog friendly (must be approved by owner)! It doesn't get better than this. See our other Ptown listing: #107728

Happy New Year
Spent a few nights for New Years with two other couples. The property is gorgeous and the views even more so. It's on a hill and you can't see another house from anywhere on the property. Views of the ponds from everywhere. The inside is lovely. Bedrooms are large and the house is very tastefully furnished and stocked with everything you would need. Fireplace is awesome. Weekend was cold so we spend a lot of time indoors. The house is large enough so we weren't on top of one another and plenty of seating and space for hanging out. Table seats 8. Owners are super nice and very easy to deal with. You won't be disappointed.
Lovely house, gorgeous setting.
Spectacular house in an amazing location
We have been renting in Ptown and N. Truro for over 25 years (ever since our family sold their Beach Point cottage colony) and this was the best house we have stayed in. This is the ONLY house in Provincetown where there is total privacy amidst gorgeous surroundings and yet you can easily walk or bike into town or to Herring Cove beach. The house itself is immaculate, tastefully furnished and beautifully maintained. The bedrooms are large and the three upstairs bedrooms offer excellent views. The kitchen is equipped with high end appliances and cookware. It is a very easy kitchen to operate out of. We had a wonderful week and hope to return next summer.
It was far from town, need a bike for sure, but it was a beautiful house and very serene.
Beautiful space with unbelievable views
This is a fantastic property... well maintained, spacious and convenient. We booked it entirely on the basis of the great decks, landscaping and natural setting, as we intended to host a completely outdoor-based gathering. The weather took a turn and there was cold rain and wind for our entire stay, so we were pleasantly surprised that the inside of this house is as stunning as its surroundings. The views through the giant windows were still tremendous... perhaps even more so in the dramatic weather. We enjoyed the great furniture, lighting and fireplace while we stayed dry indoors, and used the well-appointed kitchen quite a bit. All of the bedrooms are surprisingly large as well. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a long weekend with friends and family!
Wonderful location and house: some minuses to note
This is a beautiful house in a quiet and lovely location. It is very well designed and has a great open space for the sitting room, dining room, with windows on to the ponds. Some points to note
- the walls are very thin and noise carries easily;
- the basement bedroom is far from ideal unless it is someone stopping over for no more than a night; plus it is very noisy down there as it is next to the AC;
- no soap is left which seems a bit mean (especially given the price)
- pick up of keys isn't great (the letting agents were closed the first time we dropped by and the keys hadn't been left)
Thank you for your review, Jonathan! Because of the nature of a log home - without wall-to-wall carpeting and with luxurious oriental carpets for sound proofing, yes, sound can travel. However, few guests have found this a problem. Regarding the soap situation . . . there are soap dispensers at all the sinks, but true, none in the showers as our guests prefer to use their own brand. In terms of key pick-up; if you arrive prior to the 4 p.m. lease-agreed pick-up time for the keys, the keys will not be available - as happened with Jonathan.
Here is what Jonathan, the renter, said after his stay: "Back in (a very wet) England now after a great vacation in Provincetown. Had a lovely time in your home for which many thanks."
