About the host
Hosted by Tom Callaham
I'm a retired Naval Officer and Mary is a retired school art teacher (her art adorns the suite). Over 30 years of travel and assignments have allowed us to see much of our world and our country. We are heavily involved in Collie Rescue and supporting our local warm water pool for adults & children with special needs. We are active sailors since our teen years
Why they chose this property
Assigned to the Naval Post Graduate School for graduate studies (1973) we bought the house and kept it when sea duty & long deployments suggested we drop roots somewhere. We settled permanently (1995) because of the small fishing village atmosphere, and my love of sailing & the sea and Mary's involvement with the art community.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the warm friendly community/neighborhood and the natural beauty of the area. . A 1946 all redwood house with so many quaint touches (Dutch doors, California closets, pocket doors, beams & hardwoods) by the builder of the time. It's a walkers' neighborhood where you still get to see & know each other.
