About this property

Cute cabin and pole building with bathroom facilities and kitchen area

This is not the Garden Inn, it is 10 acres of a peaceful, remote, rustic getaway with 2 buildings, a cabin for sleeping, movie watching, air conditioner/heat. Great for summer fun at the dunes and all the other local activities, or fall hunting, fishing, hiking, and great rock hunting. The pole barn has a kitchen area ,a bathroom with full shower, and screened in porch coming soon, currently under construction. Plenty of parking, room for tents, and we have a fire pit for relaxing and cooking on as well. . Making a lot of upgrades this season. Simple amenities, extremely rustic. Internet/Wifi available. Pets are welcome. See pictures for details, priced for 2 adults and 2 children. More are welcome but prices will change. One queen sized bed, and a hide a bed couch.. Just a friendly reminder, this is in the country and you will see the occasional deer, rabbit, turkey, mole, mice, and insects such as ants, spiders, box elder bugs, bees, etc. This is 2 steps up at least from tent camping and one step up from RV. I have supplied cooking ware, utensils, plates etc, coffee pot, filters and coffee. We have trash pick up so we only ask that you bag up your garbage before leaving and we will handle disposal. Bed linens, pillows, blankets or sleeping bag, some towels, washrags provided, you may want to bring extras. And please wash up your dishes and pans.
We are just minutes from Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We built our home on this land so we may be around. We do have 2 dogs, one cat, 8 chickens in case anyone has allergies or phobias. The dogs are fenced.More info

Cute little cabin getaway

Really enjoyed our stay. The cabins are much closer to each other than we thought, so that was big plus. Close to the sand dunes but also secluded. Alan and Grace were very nice! Their dogs were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Most friendly host ever!

We loved our stay here. Was perfect for us two and our two dogs! They loved having plenty of space to play in. Grace, Alan, and Judy are some of the nicest people around! Amazing host always made sure we had supplies/necessities. 10/10 will come back next year!

Charming one room cabin with a garage equipped with a simple bathroom and kitchen just steps away. It’s 15 min away from Silver Lake and centrally located to tons of trails. What’s not to love? The hosts were very accommodating of me and my dogs. It was so quiet and peaceful during our stay. I would definitely stay again.

Unbeatable budget stay

This property worked out well for us and our pups. Very nice, accommodating hosts. Great location. We enjoyed the local bike trails and beaches. The free-roaming resident chickens were entertaining and their delicious eggs were a nice surprise. You have to temper your expectations regarding internet quality and the basic amenities but we have no complaints based on the price and would stay again

Step Above Camping

We had hot water for showers & an air conditioning unit in the cabin. However, the cabin consists of a bed, couch, & TV with a cement floor. It was rustic, but fine. The problem was (and we didn't realize) that the bathroom was in the garage. As seniors, we had to go outside at night to get to the bathroom. The kitchen was also in the garage with a working refrigerator & old stove & utility tub for a sink. There was no table to eat on, and no air conditioning in the garage. The pictured screened in porch was unavailable due to construction material storage. The description said the facility would house 2 adults & 2 children. We hoped to have our grandchildren visit, but there was no place for them to sleep unless a loft (closed off) in the garage was the supposed site.The price was inexpensive for the area, but cleanliness was lacking in the garage so we did not cook or eat there. Also, the towels would have been rags at my house due to holes. Again...it was a step up from camping, but a disappointment for us.

Amazing

The middle of the Montague Trail is only a mile or 2 away, we were able to find it and explore. Also the Genevieve Casey Nature Sanctuary is close and offers great hiking with a variety forest types and long difficult trails! This is our 2nd stay at the property and everything was great as it was before. The fall colors were out and it's a beautiful area to take them in.

Relaxing time

Very quiet and secluded area, beautiful property. We enjoyed every minute. There are tons of dvd's to chose from for nighttime entertainment. Plenty of firewood for fires and a very nice grill for over the fire cooking. Lots of places to hike. The well water is like a high-end spring water (it is filtered through miles of sand). The owners are very kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning again and will recommend to friends and family. Silver lake dunes is an easy 10 minute drive. Thank you!!!

Cabin in the woods

This place was a great get away spot. Very quiet, very much in the woods. The cabin has all We needed and our kids really enjoyed it. saw a lot of wildlife, but it is very close to all the beaches, sand dunes, and even the bike trails of the area. If you are looking for a cabin in the woods this place is great.

Weekend Stay

Stayed here with a few cousins for a quick weekend trip. The overall place is better than advertised. The back building is nice and everything that you would need for a stay in the woods is available. Would recommended to friends and family.

Great secluded get-away!

We really enjoyed our trip here! It’s located in a secluded wooded area and is the perfect spot to get away. The facilities are nice, and just as described. There was plenty of firewood supplied and there is a grate for cooking over the fire. It’s minutes from silver lake dunes area and has plenty of room for trailers. Definitely would go back.

Why they chose this property

This little 10 acre gem is located in a remote, wooded setting in Mears, Michigan just minutes from the gorgeous dunes and many other local attractions. After a hectic, crowded, noisy day come and enjoy a quiet, peaceful, secluded evening listening to the birds and a crackling fire in the fire pit, and maybe a few good tunes on a radio will help you unwind. Our buildings were here when we purchased over 20 years ago. The floors are cement which are great actually due to all the sand. We added air conditioning to the cabin since we use it most for relaxing. The pole barn has the bathroom, makeshift kitchen with older stove and a utility sink. It is a true hunters spot. Rustic!! We love it.

This pretty little piece of land is helpful in de-stressing after a long, crazy day or week. Quiet, peaceful, and remote with pretty fair amenities for such a remote location is just what everyone needs.
