My only suggestion to improve our stay would be to have a listing/bulletin board of area attraction.
We had a great visit and especially enjoyed the outdoor space at this property

So glad you enjoyed your stay, Lisa! And thank you for your recommendation. I will make sure to have a print out in the house in addition to the digital file I send prior to check in :)
This place is tucked away and very peaceful. Only like a 15 minute drive to the dunes. Great place for a larger group. Kids were able to play in sandbox and ride bikes around. Would definitely go back.
Home had plenty of beds and bathrooms for our family group of 12, ages 8 to 70. The outdoor sport courts provided many hours of fun! The proximity to the beach and Lake Michigan were outstanding . Highly recommend this home!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Leta! It was wonderful hosting you and your family. I am very happy you enjoyed your time at the cottage.
The location was great. Close to numerous things to do. Remote enough to enjoy just our family with no neighbors in sight. The house was big and laid out nicely. So, when the early risers of the family were up and talking, they didn't disturb the ones who wanted to sleep in. All in all, it was a nice vacation.
Everything went fine and we had a great time. We replaced a toilet handle in the master bedroom and there is low water pressure in the bathroom behind the kitchen, but had no other problems. Thanks for everything.

Thank you for your feedback, Rob! We'll be sure to check the water pressure. Hope to welcome you back in the future.
Great parking for us with 4 trucks and trailers with room for 2-3 more. Bit far to drive our highly modified vehicles back and forth to dunes but doable. Handicap accessibility was decent. Need to build a small ramp at one of the sliding glass doors for wheelchair bound to get in/out without having to have an assist. Would stay here again.
This cottage could not have been more perfect for our families!! We had two couples and five children. The layout was open and spacious with plenty of room for everyone! Having three bathrooms, including one with a tub, was also a big plus with so many kids!! We were pleasantly surprised to find an additional crib in the second King bedroom, along with a high chair in the kitchen! The owners truly thought of everything! And Mary was quick to respond to any questions I had. We spent much of the weekend at the Silver Lake dunes and beaches which was a scenic 20 minute drive from the cottage. We recommend going through the week if you don’t like big crowds. But it was fun to watch the other riders! There were lots of ice cream shops and little stores, along with a small entertainment park for the kids! Beautiful views and amazing weather!! We also enjoyed hanging out at the cottage and letting the kids run around the spacious and private back yard. We loved being able to cook while watching the kids through the large sliding doors! And the indoor/outdoor flow was epic (according to my 6-year-old).
The cottage was clean, well-stocked, and beautifully decorated. We did not want to leave!! We plan to return next year for a longer stay! Thank you for such an amazing weekend!!
Expect mice, feces, uncomfortable beds/couches, and constant intrusions by the manger/owner.
From the first night, the large bedroom had mice. There were mice feces on the counters in the living space as well. I politely messaged the owner on the 2nd day looking for cooperation to resolve this, she responded 3 days afterwards by trying to blame us for this, disregarding the fact that there are clear rodent dwellings on the side of the house of that room. During the time between, we used tents and campers to avoid sleeping in this room. Some of these guests were from Germany and were disgusted by the situation. She eventually confirmed this was ok in person, but then changed her mind that night and sent messages saying the opposite through VRBO. The following 3 mornings she barged uninvited into and onto the property.
We had a previous agreement to pay extra to allow us to host additional people for a night, since I was also hosting a family reunion in a city to the south and expected it to go longer. My wife decorated the house and property so that my family members that missed our wedding in Germany could get a feel for it and leave messages and write in the same guest books. The host saw this as an opportunity to demand more money from us. We never exceeded the number of people we said we would have that night, and never exceeded the overnight capacity at any point. Most nights we had less than half of the rated capacity. Nonetheless, she continues to unreasonably claim that we must pay for a "once every 3 year" septic tank pumping.

As this is a country property in the woods, the presence of mice is sometimes unavoidable, especially if doors are kept open, as they were when I visited the property (only with prior consent). I have added the recommendation to keep doors and screens closed to help continue to avoid mice entering the house. As for the other details, simply put: the renter was dishonest. Instead of a family get together with <20 people, a reception and wedding were planned, complete with 2 RVs, a DJ, and additional people staying in tents. As an added measure, I have included rules in our listing explicitly stating no RVs and no camping (no parties is already a rule). I am a community member with 3+ years of renting the property without incident. It’s important for guests to be honest so I can continue to give folks a slice of West Michigan, and provide recommendations for local accommodations for events and camping (which I’ve added to the local attraction list I share)! I will let the positive experiences of past guests serve as a testament to the property’s quality and experience.
We had a great time at this home with our family and another family. We had a total of 4 adults and 6 kids under the age of 7. We all slept very comfortably with the two king beds, cribs, and lots of bother beds around. We loved the privacy of the home and that our kids could play in the yard! This home is a great location to beaches, Michigan Adventure, Lewis Farm, Country Dairy, etc. We enjoyed a day at Ludington State Park as well! I would say just be prepared for no internet, no TV, and limited cell service. (We all kinda welcomed a break from technology, but some things were challenging!) Great trip!

Thank you for your review. We have been patiently waiting for fiber optic internet to come to the area and will have wi-fi soon! We hope to host you again.
It is a beautiful cottage! Loved the private bathrooms in 2 of the bedrooms!! There's alot of sleeping spaces. The yard and surrounding area was awesome! Close to Stony Lake and the sand dunes. Our family had a wonderful time! The only negative thing I could say is we did not have WI-FI service in most of the home. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

House was beautifully set up. Outside area was amazing. Loved the volleyball net, basketball court. Inside was set up for lots of eating areas. Bedrooms has plenty of sleeping space. 3 showers worked out perfect for us. Nights out by the campfire made for amazing family time. Location was very close to everything we wanted to experience. We definitely recommend to stay here.

Thank you for your review! I am so happy to be able to share the magic of West Michigan with my renters. We enjoyed hosting you.
This was a great experience .The house was very nice , wcheelchair accesible with roll-in shower, bed at wcheelchair height and anything we needed was provided .We all had a great time.
Plenty of space for our large family, comfortable and clean. Enjoyed volleyball and campfire and all the outdoor space! Close to beaches and ice cream and fishing!
Absolutely gorgeous property with so much room for activities. Very thankful of an awesome host, and would recommend a stay to anyone looking to have a weekend away from the business of everyday life.
Responsive and courteous! The property is well kept and perfect for yard games. Everything was as expected, with the exception that our our son was disappointed the basketball hoop was broken. I’m sure that they’ll fix it and that shouldn’t prevent you from staying here if you like the area.
Beautiful little Cottage, off the lake with plenty of room and very secluded.
Stayed there with a family of 4 and had more room than necessary, rabbits and deer in the yard, and all the amenities you need except a Keurig.
Great location with access to Stony Lake, like Michigan, Silver lake , Ludington, Pentwater, and more.
I would highly recommend this place.

Why they chose this property
It's the perfect all seasons family getaway. Summers bring opportunity for swimming, horseback riding, golfing, dune exploration, cycling. Falls bring beautiful colors as well as hiking, fishing, and antiquing. Winters are full of fresh powder, ice fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. And with spring comes fresh asparagus, bird watching, tulip festival in Holland, and more.
