The top porch has private access from the two second floor master suites. Go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and the 24/7 sea breeze. Located on a 'sleepy' beach road nicknamed 'millionaire's row', Aerie sits on the quiet, convenient end of the island- you'll see more bikes than autos and enjoy easier access to Sullivan's Island, Mount Pleasant, Charleston, the plantations, and other attractions. Aerie is three blocks from the IOP promenade with shopping, restaurants, ice cream, and the famous Windjammer Club. There is a deep-water marina on the island and tennis courts at the island recreation center. Six excellent, public-access golf courses are within a twenty minute drive to include the world-class Wild Dunes courses. Beach access is just 25 yards away.

After two decades of renting beach houses, we have labored to provide Aerie with all that we valued in those houses along with all that we wish we had! The open kitchen/dining/living room floor plan creates flow and space for all. The six foot round dining table for 12, custom-made and painted, guarantees that you will spend hours around it visiting with family and friends alike. The large kitchen has seating for nine at two spacious islands. It is fully stocked with utensils and dish ware for 20 and boasts premiere appliances with an under-counter ice-maker and extra full-sized refrigerator located in the laundry room. The outside grounds and garage feature a heated, private pool with carved tiki standing watch, horse shoe pits, outdoor hot shower, ping-pong, gas grille, and a fenced back yard.

Sleep with the cyprus-wood dolphin sculpture standing guard in the newly-created 'Dolphin Suite' and revel in the rain shower cascading over you in its spacious bath suite. There are two other master bedroom suites with custom baths and an additional queen bedroom with detached bath. The 'Dormitory' and the new, nautically styled 'Bunk Room', with its 42 inch flat screen TV and extra HMDI cable supplied for game sets, are just two of the many nooks and crannies for kids, and grown-ups alike, to hide-out. All-cotton linens, towels, and housecleaning are included. Hair dryers are provided in the master bathrooms.

Stereo sound wafts throughout the house and all three porches with separate area volume controls for piped-in beach music. 42' flat screen TVs with surround sound are in the living room, TV room, and the Dolphin Suite. There is Netflix capability in the den, Dolphin Suite, second upper master bedroom, Bunk Room, and living room. High definition TVs reside in the Dolphin Suite, living room, TV room, and Bunk Room..

Aerie was meticulously renovated in 2011 by visionary builder, Pat Kelly, of Kelly Builders- Carolina. Pat has brought to Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms such beautiful homes as Bea's Nest, L'Escale, and Dancehall.

Dedication to 'green' building options include a metal roof with 100% sprayed foam insulation, energy-efficient, impact-resistant windows, energy-efficient, new heating and air conditioning systems, on-demand hot water heaters, and dedication to exterior and interior LED lighting technology. Add to the above, a complete 21st century audio/visual upgrade with digital cable, WIFI, and and high definition capability. Include in the behind the scenes work, major structural upgrades to include restructured and rebuilt top and bottom porches.

A great house for family fun

We had a great time at Aerie. It was very convenient to the beach access, the kids loved the pool, we cooked in every night so we were glad to have a nice kitchen for that and 2 refrigerators came in handy for our party of 12(6 adults and 6 kids from 2-11). The house had a lot of nice touches and we knew the owners really had spent a lot of time making it very personal. We didn't use them but there were TVs everywhere. One of the best treats was the sound system throughout the house so we could play our Pandora and Spotify playlists from our phones day and night. We especially enjoyed the upstairs porch with an ocean view and sunrise view from the two upstairs masters. We took all our own beach towels but it was incredible to have a nice stack of beach towels we used at the pool. In years past we were constantly washing and drying beach towels. I was surprised at how much I liked that touch.

Aerie was perfect for our family

We needed a house for 4 couples and 6 grandchildren. This house was perfect for us. Those grandkids who still needed to stay with or next to parents could do so. The common areas were good size. The kitchen has plenty of cooking area and more than enough dishes. The pool out back is a real bonus. There is even an herb garden!! The beach access is across the street. Great beach, plenty of room to spread out. The Hettermans are terrific hosts. We felt like they took care of us as if we were family. Highest recommendation possible for the house, location, and the hosts.

What an amazing property in a beautiful town. We came to Isle of Palms for our annual golf trip and could not have picked a better place to stay. There were 12 of us and everyone had their own bed to sleep in. The house is very well appointed with everything you could ask for - including a Sonos sound system throughout the house. There are several great restaurants and beach bars just down the road.

Jill is a great host. She was very easy to communicate with and was extremely welcoming.

I plan on returning for a family vacation next year!

True Beach House Experience

Owners very accommodating to us in all regards. We have stayed twice now with large groups and always loved that fact that it lacked nothing from kitchen supplies and utensils to bath products and abundance of towels, table tennis and bikes, and the outdoor shower after the beach.


The house is so tastefully decorated it really has that island feel. We spent many hours on the front porches where the ocean breezes blew almost non stop. An almost perfect beach vacation can be had by anyone.

Wonderful Stay

Spent a wonderful weekend at Aerie with a group of friends. We were in the area for wedding and the house provided everything we could have asked for and more. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is large and was great for preparing meals for a large group. Even with 15 people the house never felt loud or overcrowded. I have stayed in many rental properties and this one is by far my favorite so far.

Staying on IOP

Eleven members of my family recently stayed in this house on the Isle of Palms. We had a most wonderful vacation. The house is just lovely -- spacious, well-decorated, comfortable, not stuffy. The kitchen is large and well equipped. With two refrigerators, two ovens, two washers and two driers, we enjoyed numerous delicious meals and stayed supplied with clean beach towels. Beach access was close by, but we also enjoyed playing in the pool with the kids. Nightly we enjoyed the breeze on the second floor porch. The bed swing was especially appreciated with several members of our party falling asleep on it. We highly recommend a stay here. The owners are friendly, helpful people. You won't be disappointed.
