Guestbook comments from the owner

JP,

it was very pleasant to book the apartment through the mail. I enjoyed all your directions and instructions; the apartment has everything you need and is very tasteful. It was an ideal place to stay with my grandson, much nicer than a hotel room. I will recommend it to friends and family and hope to come back myself.

Great place to stay in Paris

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Paris. It is a great place to stay as it is close to many cafes, shopping, and the metro. I also enjoyed it because it isn't in one of the real busy tourist areas. Had a great time and would stay there again. Jean Pierre was very helpful and met us onsite when we arrived.

A Delightful Find

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Jean-Pierre was welcoming, accessible, and clearly experienced as a host as shown by a notebook he provided which answered any query a guest might have. The flat was fully equipped and included amenities, as well. We enjoyed our stay, and its location allowed us access to a neighborhood and the freedom to explore other enchanting parts of the city both on foot and by Metro.

Ideal base for a delightful week in Paris

  • 5 of 5

Jean-Pierre's studio was perfect for the two of us during our week in early May. Abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops at hand. The studio was fully equipped and the patio was an unexpected touch. Checking in and out was the model of efficiency. We'll be back soon.

A great rental in a great neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

This studio was perfect for my husband and I. It had a simple but well appointed kitchen for cooking in and included a coffee machine, microwave and toaster, a cooktop and small fridge. There was plenty of room in the upper bed to sit up and it never felt cramped. Having the small patio was a plus for air circulation and just sitting outside. A few things to note if you rent this property - the complex's garbage and recycling room is right outside of the window and it can be pretty loud when folks are throwing their bottles and trash away. Plus the property manager, Mrs. P, is ever-present and she startled me a few times when I came out of the restroom and she was right there outside the window.

The neighborhood was perfect! Grocery, boutiques, banks, post office and bistros all within a 2 block radius. The gourmet grocer (Epicierie Grand) is well worth a visit to stock up on fresh cheese, meats, wine and snacks. We used the Vaneau Metro stop to get everywhere and it was less than a 5 minute walk. Plus there is a Uber queue station 3 mins away so we never had to wait for one when we needed it.

Jean-Pierre was easy to work with, provided very detailed instructions, maps and recommendations, and was proactive when we experienced issues with the washer/dryer. The apartment does not face the street so it was nice and quiet at night. Plus you need a security code to get into the complex so it was very safe and secure. I would recommend this to any single or couple traveling who wants comfort and ease in getting around. We will definitely book again when we visit Paris in the future. Merci beaucoup, Jean-Pierre!

Owner's Response: Mrs. P, the building's custodian, is part of the security of the building. She is always out on the lookout for possible nuisances. She is an old style Parisian "concierge". The windows onto the couryard are opaque, and must have been open when she startled you. I apologize about this very rare inconvenience.

Fabulous location and no hesitations in recommending the unit or renting the unit for future visits

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I booked the studio last minute and Jean-Pierre (owner) was very accommodating. We had planned to stay for four nights and although the post requested a minimum of 5 nights, we gave it a try since the calendar indicated that the unit was available. He accommodated our request openly. While we were there, we extended our visit for a fifth night without trouble. The studio looks exactly as shown in the pictures. The location cannot be beat. We greatly appreciated the fact that the unit is on the ground floor so no need to climb stairs, particularly since we walked everywhere. Here are some approximate distances in time (leisurely stroll) from the studio: Eiffel Tower (within 15 min), Hotel des Invalides (10 min), Jardin du Luxembourg (12 min), Le Bon Marché (3 min). Restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and many boutiques within a minute's walk from the studio. Very safe to walk around at night.

The studio is also a couple of minutes from the Marché Raspail, which is a street market open on Tuesday and Friday, and an organic market on Sunday. We purchased fabulous crepes on Sunday made right in front of our eyes; cheese; cured meats; bread; soup...my mouth is watering just recalling the great spread! A few vendors accepted credit cards but cash would be best. (By the way, there were many ATMs nearby, as well as small supermarkets to purchase toiletries, food, and drinks.)

The studio itself was very clean, which was extremely important for me since I am very picky about cleanliness. The owner provided dish detergent for the dishwasher and laundry detergent for the washer, which is also a dryer. The washer/dryer was very helpful since we only packed one carry-on luggage each. The bathroom is new and modern, with a heated towel rack. One bath towel and one hand towel provided per guest. The hairdryer was very powerful, which I was thankful for since I have really long and thick hair. The bed was firm and very comfortable.

Upon confirmation, Jean-Pierre sent detailed directions (with map) to the studio. We took the RER and then the metro from CDG. No difficulties finding the apartment. The custodian of the building is a very nice woman who lives in the building. Several Lonely Planet travel books. Free wifi. Jean-Pierre even provided us with a laptop for use. Provided a cheque for security deposit, which was at checkout.

We cannot wait to return to Paris and would definitely rent the studio again. Merci beaucoup Jean-Pierre.
