December stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was amazing. The house was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. There was everything we needed right there. After a long day of sightseeing it was nice to go back and relax in the hot tub.

Cabin is great! Clean, organized, comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Second time we have stayed at Hemlock Haven, and will definitely return. Cabin is convenient to everything, but away from the hustle. Has everything needed for a fun or relaxing stay.

Three Jimmy's has great BBQ about 5 min away. We did carryout so we could enjoy all of the amenities of the cabin. There is also a supermarket about 5 min away with everything you might need.

Loved the hot tub after a day of strenuous hikes in the park.

Great cabin, great location

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is exactly as it is described and pictured by the owner. We enjoyed coming back to the beautiful, clean cabin, and hot tub after a day of exploring the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Jim went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable by sending information on things to do in the area and by listing a few of his favorite restaurants, which we took advantage of.

Thanks again for a great place to stay.

Relaxing mountain vacation

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed the cabin. Before arriving Jim (the owner) emailed us with the security code along with driving directions and some surrounding area info. He had also stated that the previous renters had bear sightings to please not put trash out until check out and that the upstairs Jacuzzi tube was leaking and to not use. We were ok with that, since the Hot tub on the balcony was more important.

The cabin was clean and nicely layed out. We did have to clean some of the silverware and trays. It just wasn't as clean as my wife liked them, and only took a bit to clean up. We also just did dishes every night as needed instead of saving up and leaving them in the dishwasher.

We Hiked, zip lined, rode ATV's, rode the alpine coaster, Hillbilly golfed and visited the local shops and restaurants in Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Used the Hot tub 3 nights to relax our aches from hiking and to just wind down. My son and myself played pool, foosball, and shuffle board a few times. Nice way to relax with the family.

I contacted Jim thru email a few times to ask a question here and there. He was always quick to respond. We let him know that the knob on the stove was broke (which he knew from last renter) and that the inside shower curtain had a tear in it, in the main floor bathroom. I also let him know later that the upstairs shower faucet handle was loose and I would tighten it if there was a screw driver. He directed me to where one was and if I felt like doing it I could. (Easy fix and moved on)

A couple things to note:

1. If you don't like to drive up steep driveways this one is pretty steep. My wife said no way she would drive up it. I didn't have a problem.

2. Beds are pretty soft. I usually like a more firm bed, but I slept great.

3. Has a park style charcoal grill which we used 3 times. I thought a gas would be the way to go due to waiting for the coals and not wanting to sit there waiting, but turns out I was fine. I relaxed and had a beer while cooking and enjoyed it. Just worth noting. I had a bear in the woods come thru while I was out cooking late the first time. Added some excitement to the cooking.

I would easily rent this again if the occasion happens..... It was so nice and the weather turned out great which also helped.

Jim, thanks again for sharing your cabin.

Beautiful cabin, very clean and well appointed .

  • 5 of 5

Cabin is in great location, close to GSMP, Gatlinburg and area attractions. The cabin is beautiful, great furnishings and games.

The two large decks overlooked a wooded hillside. We had no maintenance issues- hot tub was clean and well maintained, the two king master suites was perfect for us. We will return! During our visit we did Cade's Cove and were lucky to view two bear cubs climbing down from a tall tree right by the loop road= Bear Jam! We also did Roaring Fork, Artisan Loop, Dixie Stampede, Anakeesta, Park Inn Restaurant, Fox and Parrot Tavern, and enjoyed the hot tub, quiet and nature. Our only negative was the car bottoming out on our first ascent up the steep driveway- the back end went off the deep shoulder- just hug the right side going up and down to avoid same fate.
