Several stays at this lovely, spacious cabin while fishing the upper parts of the Madison River. Location, layout, cleanliness and attentive host keep us coming back. Love it.
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The views were spectacular and we got to see pronghorn everyday. If you like to fish, there are opportunities very close by. We were also able to get to Yellowstone easily. We are a family of 5 so there were more than enough places to sleep and the beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets. There were also enough places for all of us to sit and relax at the end of the day to watch a little TV. This is sometimes hard to come by. There was a breeze in the house when you opened the windows which felt great. We were also able to cook meals and do laundry which was a perk. Ben was extremely nice and helpful and gave great directions to his place. We did have service all the way there so we didn't need the directions until we turned into the driveway. Once in the driveway you will need to follow his directions because GPS will tell you to turn on a different rock road that you do not want to be on. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
We have stayed here for multiple trips to the Madison Valley. The cabin is very clean, beds and baths meet our needs and Ben is an excellent communicator. Plan to keep returning.
cabin was clean, as described and the perfect location for our vacation. We were close enough to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons but away from the crowds and able to spend time in other more low key areas of Montana. Beautiful views and plenty of room for 3 adults and 3 teenagers.
We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The property is in a truly beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains with spectacular views in every direction. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat away from the crowds, this is exactly that. The sense of privacy and seclusion made it a memorable part of our Yellowstone trip. The home itself was spotless, well maintained, and very comfortable. It had everything we needed, and it was clear that the owners take great care of the property. Although there isn't air conditioning, we never found it to be an issue. The mountain evenings were pleasantly cool, and the house stayed comfortable after a day of exploring. The property is only about 30 minutes from Yellowstone's West Entrance, making it a convenient base for visiting the park while avoiding the busier tourist areas. It's tucked away just off the highway, with a short unpaved access road leading to the home, which adds to the feeling of being surrounded by nature. We especially enjoyed the peace, quiet, and the incredible mountain views in every direction.Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip. It's a rare opportunity to stay in such a beautiful, remote location while still having easy access to Yellowstone. We would absolutely recommend it to friends and would gladly stay here again.
We had the best time as a family. So many opportunities to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the calm of the area. Ben was very helpful and got back us quickly on all our questions. It is definitely a place we will come back to.
Completely enjoyed a 4 night trip to the Madison River and Yellowstone Country. Log cabin was neat and clean with good amenities. Beautiful views in each direction. Comfortable beds, complete kitchen. Would not hesitate to return.
This was my third or fourth time renting this spacious log cabin. Always clean, quiet and functions great as a base for enjoying the area. Owner is an excellent communicator. Will return yet again.
Quiet, relaxing and adequate space for a large group! A spacious kitchen with a big dining table and windows looking at the night mountains as the backdrop …
A little bit of a drive from West Yellowstone entrance but the scenery at this place more than makes up for it. We had a good family time and will take back warm memories.
The cabin was amazing and the Ben his wife were too. The views were astounding. The cabin sat in a prairie of sage, with exceptional views of the mountains just beyond. We really appreciated the input from Ben in advance and his attention when requested. It was a short and enjoyable 30 minutes drive to Yellowstone. Fabulous visit.
Family of 5 used this place as a home base for our weeklong exploration of Yellowstone. Conveniently located only 25 minutes from West Yellowstone entrance the cabin had all the amenities needed to cook our meals and prepare for the next days adventure. Plenty of room, could comfortably handle 10 adults. The views from the front and back porch were amazing and we especially liked the solitude to enjoy away from the crowds of Yellowstone. Ben was available at all times if needed which was nice. Highly recommend this place if you want privacy and love the outdoors! Will definitely book again next time we are here.
Wow! Beautiful location, the views from all rooms and porches were breathtaking! I cant say enough about the space, ability to wash/dry clothes, cook, extras such as spices, toilet paper, paper towels, games, air freshner etc were extras we didnt expect. Thank you! We did use the grill one night and it was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Hot water use as advertised: we took turns getting showers (which did slow us down with 5 getting showers after long hikes) the hot water had a combination (of sorts) especially for master bathroom, once we nailed that it was always hot and worked well. The owner instructions left were helpful. Easy to comminicate with during our stay. No major problems. Only thing that we would suggest to the owner is to trim grass shorter near house/steps so you could see where the praire dog holes were more easily and avoid stepping in holes. We would definitely stay here again and recommend.
Convenient location to fishing the Madison River, Hepgen and Henry's Lakes. The cabin is out on a prairie that is very private and quiet. There were a few antelope around each day. Communication with the owner was very easy and they were very proactive in addressing our needs. We would stay there again.
Great cabin with mountain views, wildlife and big sky
Very clean and comfortable cabin. Had everything we needed, plus right outside the windows gorgeous sunsets, antelopes, prairie dogs and starry skies where you can see the milky way. Perfect place for family meals and relaxing after a day of outdoor adventures. We'd definitely stay here again.
If you are looking for views of mountains, this is the place. Magnificent! The cabin is spacious with plenty of room for bodies. Lots of sleeping room with one loft perfect for kids to climb a ladder. One thing I would take into consideration with a larger group than 6, is the bathroom/shower situation. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it had everything we needed.
Second time staying at Ben’s property. Clean, comfortable, spacious and very convenient for our goals (fishing). Comfortable bedrooms and baths, washer-dryer and generous kitchen. We look forward to returning next summer.
Clean accommodating home! Great host! Gorgeous views!
Beautiful, private and well appointed home with spectacular sunrises and sunsets! The home was more than accommodating for our family of 5. Ben, the owner, was a helpful and gracious host who gave incredible suggestions of things to do in the area around the home. A gorgeous 30 minute drive to West Yellowstone. Would love to stay again!
This property fit all our needs! Beautiful views and within reasonable distance to everything we wanted to do (Ennis, Virginia City, Big Sky, West Yellowstone, Yellowstone National Park). Ben was excellent at communicating with us, answering all our questions, providing wonderful suggestions on what to see and do, and he was quick to respond. We will definitely return!
We were looking for a Montana getaway close enough to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and even Big Sky, but far enough out that we could enjoy nature and the wilderness. This cabin was just perfect for that. Spacious and homey, equipped for whatever you might need, and an easy drive to West Yellowstone, we felt at home instantly and would go back in a heartbeat. The completely dark night sky alone -- breathtaking views of planets and the Milky Way -- would be reason enough to return.
And Ben was friendly, kind, and hospitable, always quick to communicate and answer questions. He made us feel at home even before we arrived.
Clean and very well appointed property. Hosts were very responsive. Perfect location for Yellowstone trip and Montana fishing. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Beautiful view. Excellent advice for supplies before arriving. Hosts made our stay memorable.
Ben was a great host. He was quick to respond to our communication. The house is truly in the middle of nowhere in Montana and we did see antelope and ground squirrels as well as fabulous views around the house.
We were not aware that someone lives in a home about 100 feet away from the rental cabin, so know that you won't be completely isolated from other people if that's your desire.
However, having someone next door did come in handy when we discovered mice scurrying about the house our first night there. Ben was quick to have them bring traps and peanut butter to us. He had mentioned field mice in the check-in instructions, but we did not realize that they would be running throughout the house (upstairs and down) every night of our stay. Some of the children were upset by their presence. Thankfully, we had a plastic bin to put some of our food in, but it was a hassle leaving the rest of our food and many of our things in our van during the entire stay. It would have been nice to have a mouse proof storage area in the home for our food. On the plus side, we did catch a mouse in the trap in our room.
Overall, we would recommend the house, but would advise anyone considering renting the home to communicate with Ben beforehand and find out if mice still roam around the house.

I strive to provide an exceptionally clean, comfortable, spacious, and private rental experience, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to read the nearly four dozen highly rated reviews of my property that can be found on the other major vacation rental site. I am surprised by this review, and I suspect that there may have been some misunderstandings in this instance.
Log cabins in Montana are subject to small field mice being attracted to food if left unattended out in the open on tables or countertops, which can happen with large groups. The refrigerator and upper cabinets in the kitchen are, however, completely mouse-proof, and we rarely have issues. I am always glad to address any concerns or questions, and I do all that I can to ensure a fantastic vacation experience for every guest.
