The number of rooms, beds, gameroom, etc were as advertised- roomy and appropriately appointed and very clean. All appliances, games, electronics, etc. were in good working order. While this is an older cabin, it is an awesome space perfect for an extended family weekend. There were many activities that we didn't take advantage of. Communication with the owner was excellent with no surprises. However, there are a few things that I would work on if I were the owner.1. Landscaping is overrun and needs one day of TLC to show off the home and lot better.2. Small things such as lampshades unsecured etc.
Our family of 7 very much enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room. The hot tub and game room added to our enjoyment. Good communication with the host. Would stay again!

Yes, Quails retreat offers large rooms, dining for 10 set up in the dining area and another table for 4 from the large kitchen. The game room noise does not reach the upstairs front bedroom. So glad you had a great stay!
Calming, beautiful mountain home. As described. We had a wonderful time and would return.

First I want to say thank you for hosting us and entrusting us with your home. The cabin itself is beautiful and while the host can't control the roads the hills and turns are AWFUL and dangerous. I loved the beach towels provided for the hot tub but only the young adults, teens, and kids used it as it would not get hot. We read all the instructions and even googled it and still cold. We really appreciated the amount of bath towels as well but the bathrooms really need updating. The shower heads were not great and one bathroom the water sprayed in all different directions. They also need curtains and/or blinds in the bathrooms. Two of the three had windows right by the shower with houses and the road near so anyone could have seen us in the shower. The shower in the upstairs bathroom also looked to have mold but I can't say for sure that is what it was. You may also want to be careful going into the house we are pretty sure that was poison oak or ivy growing all right there. Overall it was a nice experience.

Quails Retreat is a great cabin! Well zoned for a large group. Large kitchen and plenty of seating for dinners. See the 7' Christmas tree in the great room.
This cabin was adequate for our group. It was comfortable and cozy enough for the price. Several updates could be made, but it was decent and mostly clean.
We enjoyed the cabin very much. We had a great show from a mama bear and her cubs. The tennis court was nice and the pool. It does take time to drive to that from the cabin because the roads and driveways are so steep and winding. I guess that is how it is in the Smokey mountains though.

The cabin is in the Shagbark Community - 1300 acres of forest, creeks and 17 miles of roads. The cabins have large lots so you have privacy for your group. The community pool or game court is about 1/2 mile downhill. I recommend driving and noting the public restrooms which are in the community center close by.
We originally bought this as a second home to which we retired. We loved the tranquil setting, the view of the smoking valley and the fact it is close to all the shopping, restaurants, amusement parks for grandchildren and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Although we now live across the county close to a daughter and our grandchildren, we invite you to enjoy this lovely log home while vacationing in the Smokies.
What makes this property unique
The cabin handles a large group well. There are spacious rooms - many directions to spread out from the great room to the large sunroom and back deck with HOT TUB, lots of parking, a two car carport to allow for dry unloading regardless of the weather, a level wooded lot, wildflowers that delight the eye, a great valley view and large kitchen with pantry and full sized laundry.
