The Rock House Hideaway 20acres HUGE

The Rock House Hideaway is a lovely quintessential Hill Country home! This is a five-bedroom house that sleeps 18 with a full chefs kitchen! You'll enjoy interior decor that makes beautiful use of natural stone with peaceful countryside views from the porches and balconies. This lovely home combines romance and elegance for a complete Fredericksburg experience! Relax in the rocking chairs on the balcony or with the family seating out on the back patio. Hammock and swing out under the big tree for all to use and enjoy!

The Rock House was built in 1899 and is HUGE! The house sits on 20 acres - lots of wildlife!

This is the perfect place for a family reunions, girls trip, bachelorette weekends or any other large group. Hunters welcome and retreats/conferences always welcome.



This property is perfect for retreats, reunions, large gatherings. Rent Rock House and Tank House for full property rental that sleeps 20!!

THE BARN AT ROCK HOUSE

We have recently added a sports bar to the property within walking distance of the BNBs (Big Red Barn). The Barn at Rock House Sports and Spirits. Our operating hours are Thursday/ Friday from 5pm-11pm Saturday/ Sunday from 12pm-11pm (and Monday from 5pm-11pm during football season). Most weekends you will have options for live music on the patio. The Rock House and Tank House are both within walking distance but not ear shot! Fun for the whole family as all ages welcome.

We are building BARN GOLF on property now that will have 2 golf simulators and an ourdoor stage for live music in the evenings!!! Stay tuned.....







2025 Events





Spring in the Hill Country is something special. Come visit and take pics with all the bluebonnets. Plenty on property, along with deer, armadillo a few skunks and a few turkies!! Bluebonnet festival is during the spring.

Summer we have lots of fun in the Burg!! Memorial Day to Labor day is perfect time to celebrate with the girls at multiple wineries.





Fall is football season for those in FBG!! Catch a local game or enjoy the Wine and Food festival in Early Fall.

OKTOBERFEST is a tradition in this town!!! First weekend of October we host the best party around with steins of beer, lots of polka and a few bells to ring with very large hammers!!!!





Fredericksburg TX hosts CHRISTMAS DECORATION annually at its MARKETPLATZ with caroling in English and German!!! There is an ICE BAUN as well for Ice Skating with the kiddos!!



We have your best wine tasting shuttles available - just ask for our recommendations!!! Feeling like a Massage? We have got you covered!! Want a BACHELORETTE party? We Have plenty of space for a fun group! Reach out as soon as you book!! More than 20 people? No problem, I have another set of BNBS that sleep 18 right off Main Street!

Fantastic country house close to town

We had a fantastic stay in Fredericksburg for a wedding of a close friend. My husband was best man and needed to have the groomsmen get ready with us on the day of so while this house was bigger than needed for just our family we appreciated the extra rooms and bathrooms to host them.

Family Vacation

We had a family vacation and needed space for everyone to sleep, gather and have outdoor fun. The Rockhouse nailed it. We also rented the little separate Tank house. We had 2 issues with the AC and the owner immediately sent someone out to fix it. Property is beautiful, very close to town yet out so you have privacy. We loved staying there for 6 days and we highly recommended it.

A good find

Great location, close to downtown. 1896 gem that has obviously been cared for over the years with awesome renovations, plenty of space. Did not feel like an old house. However, someone should go through and do some serious dusting. Would recommend just tossing the fake floral arrangements and knickknacks that are too coated in dust to add any appeal. Kitchen wasn’t used much, but could be better stocked and again, cleaner. When we arrived, there were clothes in a dryer and dishes in the dishwasher that weren’t cleaned, so I suspect it stopped mid cycle on accident. I didn’t really enjoy unloading someone else’s dishes on my vacay. All in all, we would stay there again due to the location and spacious layout. Thank you.

Quite stay

We stayed right before Christmas. The house was nice and clean. Seen deer in the morning and the host was easy to communicate with. It had everything we needed.

Met all our needs

We had a reunion with group of old friends. The property allowed us to all come together for the day to fellowship with each other and catch up. 3 families stayed on property while others drove in from surrounding communities. Plenty of room to spread out.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The house was clean, beautifully decorated and in the perfect relaxing location but still close to town. We would highly recommend.

Spring Break getaway

While the property has two rentals, we felt very cozy and enjoyed our stay and proximity to Fredericksburg and all the local State Parks. In your description you should mention the fabulous fire pit. We took a chance and brought wood and we were so glad we did!

Our family enjoyed a few Days at The Rock House and loved it. The property is so close to Main Street but still offers that quiet, country experience! No complaints, no problems. Danielle was kind and responsive and very easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Lovely getaway

The Rock House Hideway was a great choice for our family Christmas getaway. The house was clean and well cared for. Lots of seating and room for everyone. Our only issue was a broken dishwasher. It would have been nice If we had been told so wr could have brought paper goods rather than wash dishes.

An Absolute Blast in Fredericksburg Texas

We love the Rockhouse Hideway and the property owners are so awesome and readily available to help if you need anything. This house does not disappoint big and it has everything you need and a lot of sleeping space. When you stay make a reservation to go visit the Velvet Lounge you WILL NOT want to leave that place. We will make yearly trip and we will always stay at the Rockhouse Hideaway or The Tankhouse which is on the same property.

Mother's 50th birthday

My family and I threw a suprise birthday weekend for my mother and this house was perfect. It was so close to everything we wanted to do and had plenty of room for all 12 of us ladies. We had a great weekend.

Perfect property for a group

My family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! The house is roomy and comfortable. There is a large back area with picnic tables and plenty of room for everyone to gather. The house is on a large plot of land so you have a lot of privacy and space but it is only a few minutes from wineries and downtown. Danielle is a gracious host and always responded quickly. You won’t regret staying here when you visit Fredericksburg and need plenty of room!

Fredericksburg delight!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property. We rented both the house and the small adjoining tankhouse both times. My group was 9 people and we were very comfortable for the four day stay. Both houses are very well appointed, very clean and very easy to locate. VRBO states Check in is at 3 pm. The manager texted me and stated it was 4 pm. Not a big deal but after a 4 hr drive to Fredericksburg we had to wait an hour to access the property. I would like the manager to consider offering the adjoining barn, used as an event space including a large fire pit and big screen TV , for a reduced charge to people who rent both houses. During our stay, the barn was locked seemed like it was used as a storage facility for spill over couches and tables. We were part of a larger group of several families staying throughout the town. It would’ve been fun to gather around the beautiful fire pit after dinner and live music in town. That being said, the entire property is quintessential hill country and cozy. The owners have gone a great job restoring and furnishing the property. I would definitely rent this property again .

Beautiful home

We stayed here with family when we were in town for our grandparents celebration of life. The house was perfect for our three families to stay and for all the cousins to spend time together.

Wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at the Rock house! Sitting on the front porch watching the kids play was my favorite! Secluded, but still very close to Main Street. It was perfect! We had an issue with the a/c and Danielle, the owner, came right away and had a guy there to fix it within 20 minutes, at 9:30pm! We hope to be back again one day!
