Donna's Dream: Dog-friendly, Private Pool & Hot Tub, Close to Beach

Donna's Dream is a delightful 5-bedroom vacation property with all the amenities your family would need. It is located in the Town of Duck, one of the most desirable vacation villages along the Outer Banks. This home is dog-friendly for up to 2 pets!

Beds: 3 King Masters, 1 Queen, 1 Pyramid Bunk Set, 1 Bunk Bed Set; 12 Towel Sets provided

TOP LEVEL:
Located on the top level, the expansive Great Room has a cathedral ceiling, a living area with flat-screen TV with streaming options, wraparound sectional couch and an armchair. The dining table seats 8 and a door to the back sun deck offers another place to enjoy and relax outdoors. The kitchen has granite countertops, updated stainless steel appliances including a range with a double oven, a built-in microwave, and a beverage center with a kitchen counter that has 3 stools. There is a half bath by the Kitchen and the first of 3 master bedrooms is on this level: a King Master Suite has deck access and its master bath has a shower and a separate soaking tub. [Note: gas fireplace not available for guest use.]

MID LEVEL:
This level has another King Master Suite and its master bath has a shower. The Queen bedroom shares a hall bath (shower/tub combo) with a bedroom that has both a Pyramid Bunk Set (twin over double) and a Bunk Bed Set. All bedrooms have access to covered decks, facing either towards the front or the back of the house. This level also has a large den with flat-screen TV, mini-fridge and comfortable couch. Just outside on the mid level covered deck, the hot tub is available for adults to enjoy. Exterior deck stairs go down to the pool deck and the outdoor shower.

GROUND LEVEL:
Down to the ground level, there is the third King Master Suite and laundry area. The private saltwater pool measures 16' x 25' (open May to mid-October) and it is behind a pool gate for safety. There is pool furniture available for lounging and sunning. There is a half bath outside by the outdoor shower. The driveway has parking for 3-4 vehicles.

EXTRAS:
There is free parking available by the neighborhood beach access (2 passes provided) which is approximately 1025 feet away. On the west side of the neighborhood, across Duck Road, there are community amenities available which include a pool and tennis courts that also have lines for playing pickleball.

Wonderful Vacation

privacy due to the surrounding landscape. My grandson grilled steaks, we utilized the pool every day, and my son-in-law swam in the ocean each morning. We will definitely reserve it again!

Great pet friendly home and town!

We chose this home as we were seeking a pet friendly home for a family wedding we were attending nearby. It is in a great neighborhood and our dog loved the private beach (just a short walk from the home). We had teens with us and used the bike rental company recommended- easy bike to town on the path and our kids loved all of the shops and restaurants in Duck. The yard is fenced in for dogs and separate from the pool area which was nice. The rental company was very attentive and helpful to work with and the house is very spacious and has a great layout for large groups (and dogs!)

Great location

The location was perfect, it allowed kids of all ages to tolerate the walk to the beach. The covered hot tub was very helpful when it rained daily during our stay. The outside seating is a little more than what is pictured but is pretty sparse. There is no outdoor dining but the outside shower and bathroom was very nice to have when the kids were coming back from the beach. The mid level den was very nice to have additional rec space. The lowest level does smell strongly of mold which worsens when the air conditioning turns on.

Yearly family vaca

The location was terrific- just a short walk to the beach. The pool was great to have and was used frequently. The house set up was nice with plenty of space for everyone. The linens were provided but why is only one kitchen towel given in a house that can hold 12 people? If I would have known this I would have brought some with us. My biggest issue was ants being in one of the closets and finding a cockroach in the lower bedroom. This house needs a better cleaning job done between stays.

Property management makes it not worth the effort

When you pay more for a VRBO (twice as much as comparable home stays nearby), you expect listings to be properly cleaned/serviced and well stocked. Unfortunately this listing had not been touched since the last high season -- lots of dust/dirt, cobwebs, clocks set to the fall, hot tub had no smell of cleaning chemicals. Residence lacked basics like kitchen towels, hand soap, trash bags, Tupperware, and serving ware. After going through multiple calls with the management company to list my family members, sign pages-long contracts, and download particular apps for check-in, I expected to be treated well when I called to ask about the inoperable fireplace. Instead, they were incredibly rude, yelling over me the same line about me not understanding their contract. I would have appreciated a simple "sorry for the confusion" rather than being berated. Location is fine, check-in/check-out were easy. But not worth the price for the lack of sparkle and lack of respect.

A Flawed Peggy Sue

The fridge/ice maker weren’t working for the first 36 hours, the out door shower/bathroom was dirty, the 1nd floor a/c wasn’t working, and a previous tenant left behind some nasty underwear not removed by the cleaning service. But ,Paramount was very responsive and solved the problems as quickly as could be expected.

Duck Birthday Weekend

Very nice house and excellent location. Two problems, though. First, the TV is WAY too confusing. It took two days of pain trying to find channels before I had a technician come to the house. Even he was confused though he persisted and after about 30+ minutes figured it out (Spectrum via Apple TV). You should put some quick instrucitons in a lucite sleeve (similar to all of the other info for the house) on the coffee table. Would have eliminated a LOT of frustration. The washer did not work. The same technician looked at it and when he was there, it did work. But I later figured out it does not work either when it is on "whites" or "hot" for the temperature. When I ran a load with "colors" and "warm, it worked fine.
