Charming 1 BR Apartment on Rue De Seine Near Blvd St. Germain

Bedrooms 1
Half Baths1
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 2)

This is an extremely charming, one bedroom apartment located in a beautiful 18th century building right near the Blvd St. Germain and the Rue de Buci in the 6th arrondissement in Paris. The apartment has beamed ceilings and two large windows facing the courtyard, making it extremely quiet.

There are 2 twin beds put together in the bedroom, one full bathroom with a large stall shower, sink, and toilet, and another bathroom with just a bathtub and a sink. The sofas in the living room are also quite comfortable for sleeping, so two people can sleep in separate rooms if needed. The apartment was recently renovated so the bathrooms and finishes are relatively new. There is a large TV, Wifi, DVD player, and an internet phone that provides free calls to the USA. There is no elevator but the apartment is located one flight up and it is an easy walk up.

I also have an English-speaking assistant available in Paris to help you if you have any questions or concerns.

Rue de Seine is a lively, fashionable street, lined with art galleries, cafes, and food stores. It is a 5 minute walk from the Blvd Saint-Germain and the River Seine. It is a 'dream' location in Paris.

About The Owner

I have lived in New York City all my life. I am a real estate broker with Sotheby's International specializing in residential properties.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1983

Why The Owner chose Paris Arr. 6 (Latin Quarter, St. Germain)

Even though everyone thought he was crazy, my father bought this apartment in Paris in 1983. It was a total wreck but in a wonderful location in a beautiful building. His French is not great but that didn't stop him. He had the apartment completely renovated. About 6 years ago, he succeeded in buying the hallway that was adjacent to our apartment and we were able to connect the two and greatly enlarge the apartment. The apartment was totally renovated again at that time. It's been so great having a place like this to go to whenever airfares are low. I would rather stay in this apartment than any of the great hotels in Paris. It's just a terrific experience.

What makes this apartment unique

I can take advantage of all the wonderful food stores on the Rue de Seine and Rue de Buci and have some delicious meals in the apartment. Check out the video that I made showing the Rue de Buci, just around the corner from the apartment. You can find it on youtube with the title' Tour of the Rue de Buci.' Be sure to turn up the volume to get the full effect.

amazingly central,quiet,comfortable

I've stayed in many homes away from home over the years. This property stands out in many ways:

The location couldn't be better: both close to everything (we didn't use any transportation but our feet except when coming or going from Paris) and completely private and quiet.

The owner was attentive to every question that we sent her way, providing the most clear and effective instructions I have ever seen both before and during our stay.

The bedding, linens, kitchen are simple, comfortable, clean, functional. Plumbing and appliances all work perfectly.

There is a three foot shelf of guide books and a couple feet of fiction vacation reading.

There is every possible convenience just outside the apartment door, including a laundromat!

The wireless and phone services make communication with home and around Paris as easy as they could possibly be.

This apartment is a lucky find.

In the Heart of Paris

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED every minute of our stay in this cozy apartment. It had everything we needed and it is in a great location. We were able to walk to everything from this lovely courtyard building. The owner is extremely responsive and well organized. Her instructions on everything from how to turn on the hall lights to using the wifi were meticulous and even included photos. For the jet lagged, those photos were quite helpful!

We have stayed in beautiful hotels on both the Left Bank and the Right Bank in the past, but staying in this charming apartment was far superior. It had more space, a comfortable bed, two showers, a large couch in the living area and a simple kitchen. It was meticulously clean and well stocked with sheets, towels and other necessities. Best of all, just outside the front door are some of the best food, shopping and sights in Paris. And, I might add that it is far more interesting and fun to walk out of a residential courtyard building like a Parisian than through the lobby of a hotel like a tourist!

The owner also has thoughtful, local caretakers. Should any emergency arise, they respond immediately. This is a wonderful find and we can’t recommend it highly enough. My husband and I are already plotting and planning a return visit to “our” apartment in Paris.

Paris in the 6th Arr.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was delightful, everything it was advertised to be and more; clean and comfortable; a real "home away from home." A microwave oven would be welcome addition to the kitchen. The location is perfect, restaurants, bistros, boulangère, super market, art galleries, museums and cathedrals. All within easy walking distance. We can't wait to plan our next visit.

Perfect Paris Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at 54 Rue de Seine we were so happy to be back in the St. Germain de Pres area. The owner had provided us with all the information we needed to get ourselves settled into our lovely place. The building was old but was very cool. When we walked into the apartment we felt like we were home! The apartment was perfect for my husband and me. It has two bathrooms, which was great. One with a tub for me and the other with a shower for him. Makes for a great peaceful holiday not having to share. Although we had several very hot days, the apartment remained cool and the use of fans in each room made all the difference. What was also great was that we faced the courtyard so it was very quite. We just loved this place and would definitely return on our next visit to Paris.

Wonderful spot in the heart of the 6th Arrondissement!

  • 5 of 5

It is not often that I get more than I expected, but I certainly did with this fantastic rental! The apartment is very lovely, with an outstanding location only blocks from the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame and the Sainte-Chapelle) and the Louvre! Also, there are two metro stops (different lines) only a couple of blocks away! The building also has a very nice interior courtyard if you want to be outdoors without the bustle of the street!

When we arrived, it was spotless, and completely made up for us. Lots of extra pillows, blankets, sheets and towels, too!

It is a one bedroom, so it is ideal for one or two persons, though I suppose a third could sleep on the very comfy couch! The kitchen is small (and oddly located next to the front door) but it is perfectly adequate for the visitor. An unusual feature is that it has two bathrooms, each with a shower, but only one with a toilet. This was ideal for us, as my wife and I each had our own bathroom! And there are two closets as well! There is also fine Wi-Fi available, and we were able to connect and use it easily. Speed is quite adequate.

There are many shops (pharmacy, gelato, deli, etc.) located quite nearby, including a small supermarket that is open until 10:30 pm! There are also many fine restaurants nearby ( I recommend the Café de Paris and the Bistrot Mazarin).

Everyone in the building is very friendly, and the owner (Shelly) leaves excellent detailed instructions on everything! I have never met her, but she is a sheer delight to deal with online!

In short, I cannot imagine a better place to spend time in Paris (we were there a full month, and just loved it)! Definitely great value! Highly recommended!
