Nice lake home and a fantastic lake

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with with 4 adults and 4 children. It was in a nice location near Rhinelander. The house was a good size for all of us and it had a great deck to sit out and view the lake. Everything that was there was in good shape and beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need along with large peninsula creating plenty of prep space. It has a glass top stove so that can be a plus or minus depending on your view. The house did not have a dishwasher which would be nice. It also does not have A/C but when we visited it was over 80 degrees in the day and cooler at night but the house is nicely shaded so it did not get uncomfortably hot.

The lake is a nice size, does not have an overabundance of vegetation and it is clear. There were so many bluegill right off the dock the kids could just drop the line and catch one, It made it really fun for them to be able to have fishing success. Outdoor spaces were nice as well.

Overall I was really happy with this rental. As mentioned above the only thing preventing 5 stars was the lack of A/C and dishwasher.

Property had a beautiful setting on the lake. The cabin was nicely maintained and decorated.

We had a relaxing week at the lake. We swam in the lake every day and used the kayaks to explore the lake. My only suggestion is to add a railing down the steps from the parking area to the cabin and again at the cabin entrance. We brought my 88 year mom and that would have helped her navigate the property. Otherwise, we had a terrific week at the cabin.

lots of steps

  • 4 of 5

The home is nice, one bedroom upstairs (queen and bunk beds), the basement has two bedrooms that are on opposite ends of the basement with a small bathroom with a shower downstairs, bathroom upstairs with tub. The stairs to the basement are open, so if you have little ones, bring a gate. Only downsides of the rental was that there are many outdoor steps, that wasn't shown in pictures when we looked at it. When unloading and loading, it doesn't seem like much. Then the steps to the beach are a hassle if you have little ones who need to go to the bathroom, or if you forget something from the house. The kids did like the beach, and fishing from the dock. Didn't like that we had to go through PayPal (think you have better options now) and didn't get a response back as quickly as I would of liked that they received the deposit. The owners parents live next door, so if we had any problems/questions they were right there (we didn't have any). The map isn't accurate, it's near Woodboro, so further out of Rhinelander than what we thought. Upside is the home is well kept, beds comfortable and the kids had a lot of fun.

Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time at this cottage and I searched for months to find a cottage with a sandy beach and gentle slope into the water for our little ones and it was perfect. We fished every night and always caught bluegill, bass and a few perch right off the pier. The swiming raft was a plus along with the paddle boat, canoe and kyaks. The house was beatiful too with plenty of ceiling fans and breathtaking views from the picture window were we ate our breakfast. The house had plenty of options for sleeping and I think next time we would bring more people along because there is so much room. The neighbors were also very friendly and inviting and the owners were very gracious, kind and thoughtful when we needed anything or just to ask a simple question. Our experince was the perfect vacation. Thank You for the memories

Gabby's Summer Visit

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to this property and we have nothing but great comments about our visit. A few years ago we started renting a lakeside property and inviting our kids and grand babies to join us and it's been something they all look forward to. Our son-in-law grew up on Squash Lake and he said if you ever have a chance to get something there....well that's all it took and we're so glad we did. The accommodations are super and the lake offers both fishing and other water sports. There's something for all ages on the property and off. The local communities have many activities that will give you things to do for day trips or when it rains. We're already planning on another visit next year so don't be afraid of trying this one....I don't think you'll be disappointed.
