Beautiful setting

An interesting historic house on 40 acres with gorgeous views. Close to Albany and Troy, and an easy day trip to the Berkshires.

What An Amazing Location

Robert was an amazing host, from meeting us upon arrival and showing us the house to helping with some planning issues he really got us through. The location is about as tranquil as you could ever want. We will be back to celebrate year after year.

Charles said, "We're easy." He meant it. He and his family were respectful and sincere in their appreciation for our getaway. He left our historic home neat and orderly. We would have a 1,000 Charles' any day.

Great for a family with small children.

The house is secluded and the pool was great. Robert lives nearby and was available for assistance (questions and checking on the pool). He was very generous and even let our kids use the ATVs. Overall it was a relaxing trip and the view was incredible. We spend most of the time on the screened in porch or in the pool.

Gorgeous views of the Hudson

We had a fabulous stay and loved our time on the porch and by the pool. This a restored historic home with all the modern amenities you might need. We loved marveling at some of the original features of the home. The long range mountain and river views from the porch are stunning and my whole family enjoyed the pool. Do note if your party is large, you will need to be careful to take shorter showers due to the well. Overall, we were happy to have stayed here and had a nice relaxing family holiday.

It is one of a couple thousand songs I've written. I am a local columnist for our papers, an author of several books, I've written screenplays and continue to blog inspirational devotionals usually from the perch in the cupola or seated on the back porch.

Why they chose this property

The Hudson River is stunning...every moment of every day and in every season. The wildlife treats us like family. The historic home was built by a Brooklyn owner of an ice company at the turn of the century. The gardens, back porch, trails, cupola...it just goes on and on.

What makes this property unique

The house has a wrap-around porch where you can view sunrises, birds (my wife is their benefactor) and the wildlife that calls our beautiful and peaceful place "home." This is a chill-house if ever there was one. Guests frequently mention its beauty and peace. It is absolutely removed and yet convenient.
