About this property

Welcome to the Beach!

Welcome to our family friendly beach escape! Here you’ll find a well thought out vacation home in a gated community with easy beach access and no through traffic. Upon arrival you’ll find plenty of parking plus a basketball hoop, volleyball area, softball/kickball diamond, tetherball, ring on a string, and a stocked shed with boards for washers, some balls, sand toys, boogie boards, folding beach chairs and more. There’s also a fire pit area, dining table, charcoal grill, foot wash, and outdoor shower for washing the sand off before dinner. You’ll soon see why downstairs is our favorite spot on rainy days! Head upstairs through the baby gate at the top to enjoy the gorgeous upstairs deck with lounging opportunities. A comfortable couch and loungers offer an ocean view, perfect for quiet mornings with coffee before heading to the beach.

Inside, the living room has two large, comfortable couches and a love seat for those lazy days with plenty of natural daylight through the windows out to the front deck. Plenty of seating around the dining table, plus barstools at the island. Kitchen has been well stocked with all cooking essentials, plus a large pantry. The back deck area right outside the kitchen door offers another place to sit in the morning sun with a view of the barges on the Intercoastal. Comfortable master bedroom with a king bed, tv, and desk; master bath is spacious with extra storage and an oversized shower. Both secondary bedrooms have a queen size bed and a twin over full bunk. Both rooms have closet storage available, a tv, plus their own sink & toilet area. A shared Jack & Jill style bathroom connects the two with a tub/shower and another vanity area. Plus a half bath off the living room next to the laundry area with a new washer & dryer! Some surprising extras you’ll find here are bins of toys & books for kids, a pack & play with sheets, baby monitor, games and so much more. Everything about this home invites you to unpack and stay a while.

Super fun place to stay!

This property was awesome and we had the best time with our family. The house was perfect and the yard was stupendous! Super big yard with lots of outdoor games and space! We loved it and would definitely stay there again!

Great for families with kids

The property was great for our family. The host even thought of things such as spare toothbrushes and razors along with sunburn aftercare lotion. The house was clean and as described. My only concern was that the hand railings on the porches were a loose and it made me nervous with kids leaning on them. I did let the host know this at the end of our stay. I would definitely stay again!

Wonderful experience!

The house was beautiful, clean, and perfect for adults as well as kids. Beach access was a breeze and there were plenty of fun activities at the house even when we were at the beach.

Beachside Fireworks

Enjoyed our trip. Communication with owners was easy. We liked having the baby gate for the kids, many appliances for cooking and the house is convenient since it is a short drive to the big store. We loved that the balcony faced the gulf so we could watch all the fireworks on4th of July. We enjoyed this house and would stay here again. Only thing we would change is being able to drive our car down the street to beach. While it’s easy to just go to next street, it’s nice to not have to get on main road.

Still the best home on Bolivar

We have stayed in this home about 6 times. It’s always clean and in perfect shape. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, and every detail has been thought of and taken care of.

Beach Trip 2023

We come to Crystal Beach every year and this is our first time staying at this house and I think it is our favorite so far! The whole house is beautiful and comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us. Awesome little touches and amenities everywhere! We will definitely book it again! Thank you so much!

Wonderful Family Beach House Getaway

Southern Comfort really lived up to its name. The house felt very fresh and welcoming, filled with thoughtful details throughout the entire home. We loved hanging out on the wrap around deck, with plenty of seating everywhere for everyone. Our family also enjoyed using some of the outdoor amenities (volleyball net, tether ball, etc). It was one of the best beach house experiences our family has had in a while, and we look forward to coming back again in the future!

Nothing Short of Awesome!

We've stayed in many beach houses on the Peninsula over the years, and this is by far our favorite! I'm a small details gal, and this house lacked NOTHING! From the complimentary basket of goodies/necessities to the wireless charger next to the bed, this house was welcoming, well-supplied and super cozy. The yard, outdoor activities and various seating both upstairs and down gave everyone a place to relax and play. Clean, fun, welcoming, adorably adorned. Loved it.

Perfect!

From booking to check out, our stay was perfect. Having visited Crystal Beach for the past 18 years, we were excited to get back after being couped up for the past year and a half. The communication from booking to check out was great. The house was just as described. Clean, new and bright. The decor was cute and updated, and we had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, kitchen is stocked with all the dishes, etc. to make a meal at home should you want. Close proximity to the beach access and the big store. We will be back! Thank you! :)

Perfect Beach Home

I have stayed in this home several times, even before it became listed on Vrbo. You will not find a better maintained home on the Bolivar Peninsula. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. It has so many little details for convenience it’s impossible to list them all. The owners really thought of everything. Many homes have a lift to help you get heavy things up the stairs, but they are usually inactive for renting tenants. These owners allow you to use their lift for heavy and bulky items. That really helps your mood when moving in and moving out. I’ve been going to the Bolivar Peninsula for over 50 years. This is the best home I’ve ever stayed in.

Wonderful home away from home

We recently spent a week at this home in Crystal Beach and we had just an absolutely wonderful time. It was not our first trip to Bolivar, but it was definitely the best trip yet. Family Friendly This home is very family friendly. It is stocked and arranged to accommodate littles of all ages. There are cabinets full of toys and games, along with coloring and activities books. If you look in the bathroom cabinets, you will find step stools for the kiddos. There is a safety gate on the top deck that you can lock and latch to keep kids safe as they run around the upstairs portion of the home. The downstairs has a shed stocked with beach toys, yard games, boogie boards, and more. Great Location We mapped this home and compared its location to the other homes we had stayed at. Initially, this home looked a little farther away from the beach, but I was pleasantly surprised at the location and how close it is to the shoreline. We always rent a golf cart either way, so the difference was extremely negligible. Matter of fact, this was the first home we stayed at where you can even see and hear the ocean. The home is in a gated community on two lots. The kids have plenty of space to play games and run around. There is a bird house on the property that was home to many Purple Martins, which made for lovely birdwatching. Perks and Accessibility It was absolutely wonderful to load the electric lift up with all our bags and only have to make a few trips up and down the stairs to load and unload our stuff. Amenities The home was stocked with nearly everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was plenty of toiletries, soaps, detergent, and kitchen accessories to get you started and/or cover anything you might have forgotten. And there was plenty of silverware, dishes, etc for all your cooking needs, including kid friendly dishes for the littles. Misc Communication with the owners was spectacular, both before and during our stay. They answered any and all questions that we had extremely promptly and with very detailed information. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough space for everyone. The kids had so much fun and this property truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you so much for the lovely stay.

Everything was clean and there was plenty of room. The kids enjoyed tether ball and volleyball. They enjoyed catching little toads and releasing them all at once. Outdoor spaces were comfortable and we spent a lot of our time on the upper deck. Only drawback was beach accrss

Perfect Family Vacation

The house is set up perfectly for a family or a group to enjoy a Crystal Beach getaway. Anything and everything you need is provided and if it's not, it's mentioned in the list of things to bring! Megan thought of everything and it was so appreciated. She provided clear house rules, local recommendations, and was quick to communicate. Location is great - close to everything you need. The house is in a private neighborhood with little traffic and we felt very safe. Lots of outdoor activities and toys for kiddos! Outdoor shower was a nice bonus after a long day at the beach. We rented a golf cart to get to and from the beach and would recommend to anyone staying here. We enjoyed our stay at the house and would rent again. Highly recommend! Has everything you need.

This vacation rental was amazing! It had everything you’d expect a beach house should have and more. It has a lift for groceries and cargo from the ground floor to the top floor that was very helpful. We played basketball, volleyball, hung out and made s’more around the fire pit, and relaxed on the balcony and enjoyed the breeze. The house is very spacious and comforting and is equipped with all the cooking materials you need to be an everyday chef. I highly recommend this home rental to anyone looking for a beach house to hang out with family and friends!

Awesome stay!

This house was perfect for us! We had everything we needed and more! Also was a nice surprise they had a beach pass waiting for us. The beds were very comfortable and the downstairs patio was very pleasant. I would 100% love to stay there again!

My husband and I both grew up in Texas, met in Alaska, and now we are excited to share our love of the Third Coast with our children. This vacation home helps us to do just that! Why they chose this property

We love our vacation home! We are excited to share it with you. We look forward to sitting on the deck, especially mornings and evenings, watching the waves in the distance. Downstairs is a lot of fun. We enjoy hanging out and playing Ring on a String, or Washers with our children. Volleyball and Tetherball are favorites, too. We love taking the short walk to the beach for boogie boarding or beach combing.

What makes this property unique

Our house is situated on a 1/2 acre lot. We have plenty of space to run and play. The private street makes it very quiet, and kid friendly. Our beach access is a breeze at the end of our street, to the right.
