About the property

Ocean-view House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-7)

If you feel 'bushed,' sail to Sunshine Coast, a short ripple from Vancouver. Smell the clean, fresh air. Barooga has lush berry bushes and a path to our private beach on Georgia Strait. Focus on bald eagles, hummingbirds, loons, and jays. Turn over a beach stone, let the ocean life tickle your palms. Hike up, relax on the deck with a cool drink. Inhale the view, islands, lighthouses near and far, cruise ships dancing toward the Inside Passage and Alaska.

Fully furnished, three bedroom, private waterfront house for weekly vacation retreat, situated between Sargeant and Halfmoon Bays. Two hours from Vancouver, forty minutes of which is a pleasant ferry ride across Howe Sound. The main three-piece bathroom has a shower. The second washroom has a toilet and a basin.

Kitchen has everything including a corkscrew. Sleeps up to six people. Gas barbecue on large deck. Paved two car driveway. Path to a private beach through a park-like setting. The spacious, private deck with the view is exceptionally functional with the covered and well-lit area.

Alder and maple firewood is stacked next to a fabulous fireplace. Light the fire, have a crackling, cozy conversation. Reading in the old fashioned way is a unique experience in Barooga's natural, peaceful setting.

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

We have been using VRBO for a long time. Barooga was by far one of the best experiences and rentals we have been too. The setting is stunning...but that is typical for the sunshine coast. There were four of us (two couples) and the house was set up very nice and exactly as described. The yard and approach to the water are beautifully landscaped and cared for. The owners take great pride in making sure things are nice. Robyn and John are exceptional hosts that were very welcoming and helpful but were very mindful of our privacy. We will be back!

Beautiful Barooga

  • 5 of 5

Along with my husband and two friends, we stayed at Barooga for ten glorious days. On entering the property the first you notice is a view with the 'wow' factor, an uninterrupted view of the water and coastline, it is fantastic. We found the property extremely clean and comfortable, it is furnished and fitted out to the highest standard, the outside deck has lovely seating and eating areas, perfect for soaking up that gorgeous view. The path down to the beach is steep but, our party aged 60/70's managed without problem, we saw otters, bald eagles and seals so a paradise for wild life lovers. Adjacent to the deck is a new hot tub, very welcome after a day of hiking and exploring. Robyn and John (the owners) were very helpful and friendly without being intrusive, this being our first visit to the Sunshine Coast their knowledge was invaluable, we cannot thank them enough for making our trip most memorable. It is always difficult choosing properties when you are in the UK and don't know the area but, with this one we really 'struck gold'. Thanks again Robyn and John

Absolutely Stunning Weekend at Barooga

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my family went to Barooga for a May long weekend getaway. We could not have been more impressed. First of all, that view!!! We couldn't get enough of that view. We played bocce on the lawn, we went for walks, we had dinners and our morning coffee on the deck. It was comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. A great spot for all families.

Robyn & John were fantastic hosts- friendly and available to help whenever needed, but also respectful of our privacy.

We were so impressed and can't wait to go back! I have already recommended Barooga to many friends.

Thank you so much for such an incredible retreat!

The view the view

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 2 weeks at this amazing place. Our family consisted of people from ages 84 to 12. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful home. The views in front of the home were constantly changing, from little tug boats hauling huge cargoes to cruise ships on their way to Alaska. We basically lived on the deck. It was beautifully furnished with comfortable lounge and chairs, and had a great Bar BQ. The owners, Robyn and John live next door and that was so helpful. They had lots of knowledge of the area that they gave us. The path down from Barooga to the ocean was a challenge for those over 70, but not for the other ones. There were amazing hikes to go on, great cycling, and of course wonderful kayaking. We certainly want to return to this beautiful place.

Year 4!

  • 5 of 5

4th year and we asked our two boys (4 and 6) keep asking all summer - when are we going back to where the crabs are??!!! Every year we come back and every year is better than the last. The boys' favourite thing to donis hike down to the beach (or get a ride with Robyn) and look for crabs. We bring some hot chocolate and popcorm and play into the sunset.

But theres so much more to do: swim in beautiful Ruby Lake and eat at the Euby Lake Resort (ask for the chef's own smoked salmon or smoked sturgeon farfalle. Check out the unique harbour (and pub) in Egmont. Hike the Skookumchuck. Shoresurf at Davis Bay (get the fish tacos from the bus mmmmmm). Go into Sechelt and do some shopping, get some home made pizza, ice cream and and lattes from the general store. Paddleboard the inlet. Take in the weekend market or one of the many festivals. Take the Malibu up to Chaterbox Falls. Its up to you how much you want to do.

The house is beautiful with breathtakig panoramic ocean views. A bittle of wine and the patio lounger is amust for at least ine night.

John & Robyn thank you so much for being such great hosts. Youve helped us create memories with our children.
