Cabin was nice. Could use a little TLC but overall we had a good stay. Probably need to bring some towels and washcloths. Only 2 sets per bathroom. Loved the views each morning from the deck overlooking the lake. Great place for morning coffee and evening wine We would definitely stay here again
Spent 9 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! House was perfect for us and our two dogs. Quiet location, on the water, beautiful scenery...get up at least once to see the sunrise over the lake. Absolutely beautiful!Host is very responsive and easy to work with. The addition of the dock was great! My husband spent countless hours out there fishing. Caught some decent sized fish during our stay. Generally after being away, I'm looking forward to getting home to my mattress after sleeping on a rental home bed. That was not the case with this vacation. The mattress was SO comfortable!! A huge plus in my book. We cooked many meals here, the kitchen is well stocked. Great use of space with a really cool spice rack (well stocked as well). Did a lot of reading and the couches are very comfortable. Great location. We visited breweries in the area: Plattsburgh NY, Burlington VT and North and South Hero. We definitely plan to return and stay here again. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderfully relaxing time. The cottage is well-stocked and a short drive to the nearest convenience store. The view from the master bedroom was very difficult to leave!!!
This was our second time visiting this property. It was a very relaxing time. Everything in the house worked as it should. Everything was clean. We really enjoyed it and would love to return next year.
Our stay was everything we hoped for. This lakeside experience was made memorable by a clean, spacious and well stocked chalet. The property was well maintained and the deck invited you to relax and enjoy Lake Champlain. The fruit tree grove hosted birds and small woodland creatures. We thank the host for sharing this lovely space with us.
We like very much that place because of the:
- proximity from the neighbors
- nice view on the lake
- the paddleboards
- the nice location (close to a convient store)
- the 2 bathrooms
- dogs allowed

Thank you for the feedback, Marc! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
The location and home were wonderful. The beds and furniture were comfortable, and all of the appliances were new and worked very well. It was quiet, peaceful yet still easy access to the freeway to visit Burlington. I recommend bringing some bottled water to drink (there is a slight sulfur smell in the pipes) and some birdseed to attract the birds outside!

CAUTION ROAD WORK AHEADUnfortunately, our 10 day stay was ruined by road work in the area. They are installing city water to the area and it is heading right for this property. While we were there, work was in progress on EVERY road on this part of the island. That meant noise from as early as 7:30am and as late as 6:30 pm.The worst of it was the construction staging area maybe 100-150 yards from the property (right behind the cell tower). You could hear and FEEL the trucks and heavy equipment almost non-stop. Horrible when the big trucks came to dump more gravel, sand, dirt. Beep-beep-beep all day as multiple front loaders worked to load the trucks. The smell of diesel hung in the air all day.The only road to and from the cabin was constantly being opened and closed as they brought pipes across. Most days we left to escape the noise. One day we hadto return to the property because the road was closed and we could not pass. Not sure what they'd have done for Emergency vehicles.Saturday & Sunday were quiet and peaceful. The lake beautiful. Birds chirping. The odd fishermen. Idealic. A beautiful spot to escape the city and relax. But had I known about the construction I would have stayed elsewhere. It was that bad. I have stayed on the island many times. I would return to this property once construction is completed. B4 you go ask the owner if they are still working in the area & still using the staging area around the corner. And bring a plenty of mosquito spray.
We loved our stay last year so much we came back this year. Loved the upgrades- fire pit and fire place insert. Property was clean and well kept. The views were beyond beautiful. We tried the recommended Kraemer and Kin pub- delightful. Definitely a 5 star place. Love that it’s pet friendly. We will be back!
Fully enjoyed my “break at the lake”!
Very nice venue.
What a night sky, an amateur astronomer’s dream.
April 8 2024 there will be a total eclipse occurring.
And Alburg is in the zone of totality.
This house was more than we were expecting. The water was great. Kids had a blast kayaking and fishing. Very nice yard d on the side of the house. Inside was very cozy. The air conditioning kept the climate very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had every we needed. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your house. We hope to book again next year.
We recently stayed at this beautiful chalet, perfectly situated on Lake Champlain. It was well stocked with all the basic essentials and then some. It's literally steps away from a pebble beach with the most stunning sunrises each morning. You don't even need to get out of bed to catch the view of the sun peeking over the lake. What a wonderful stay we had. The beds were very comfortable and Anna's welcome book provided plenty of places to visit (farmer's markets, state parks, breweries, restaurants etc) The kids had so much fun exploring the beach and looking for little treasures. The only thing to improve could be some attention to landscaping and overgrowth around the yard and steps leading to the water. This was by no means a deal breaker for us and in some ways added to the rustic feel. We were very comfortable there and hope to visit again and would certainly recommend this lovely stay to others. Thank you Anna for a great family getaway!
We had the most incredible stay at this charming cabin on the shores of Lake Champlain! From the moment we booked, the owner’s communication was outstanding—clear, prompt, and thoughtful, making the entire experience seamless. The cabin itself was cozy and beautifully appointed, with stunning views of the lake that made every morning feel like a dream. We spent hours enjoying the excellent ice fishing right outside the cabin—it's truly a haven for anglers! The town of Alburgh is absolutely delightful, with a welcoming, small-town atmosphere and plenty of local charm. Whether we were exploring the town or simply relaxing by the lake, everything exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with great fishing and a wonderful local community, this is the place to be! Highly recommend

About the host
Hosted by Anna K.
After visiting Northwestern Vermont regularly for over five years, we realized we had a special connection to this area and finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a house there to call our own.
Why they chose this property
Lake Champlain is truly magical, and when we saw the Chalet, we knew it was "THE" house. The views of the lake are amazing, and its calming energy washes over you. After a year of having the house to ourselves, we've decided to open it to visitors so we can share this special place with others.
What makes this property unique
Vermont is an amazing place; and the northwest corner is no exception. It may seem remote, but that's part of its charm. Life seems to slow down around here, but you still aren't too far from civilization. It's a fantastic place to unwind and recharge!
