awesome week with family

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at the lake house. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Morning coffee sitting in the screened in porch. Campfires at night. We were able to tie off our 25 foot boat to the concrete area making it easier for us to use on the lake. We swam, fished, kayaked, went wine tasting. Absolutely a vacation to remember. Everything you could think of was ready for you in this lovely home. Thank you Janice DeLucia for sharing your lake house with us!

Perfect Ladies Weekend Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This property is a dream! It was the perfect get-a-way for us. Located in the most gorgeous part of New York State's wine country, a group of college friends that came from 3 different states for an annual weekend get together. This was our first visit to this cottage and it was perfect! There is so much room, yet cozy...we did not feel crowded at all with three bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large open living/dining room and kitchen.

We could be found gathered on the screened-in porch, out on the dock getting some sun, around the fire pit area at night or in the sitting area in front of the big picture window. All having a great view of the lake. We watched the sail boats, speed boats and fishermen go by as we hung out and told our stories. Some of the early risers even watched the beautiful sunrise over the lake while drinking their coffee and watching the variety of water birds out on the dock.

Needless to say, we stopped by some of the local Finger Lakes Wineries for some tasting and buying.

Jan, the owner, went out of her way to be sure that we were all set for the weekend. She was accessible, accommodating and a joy to do business with. We loved it and will be back.

Absolutely stunning view of the lake

  • 4 of 5

What a great place to stay with a large group. It is right...I mean right on Cayuga lake. The location is very rural and peaceful, but central to several wineries and parks. About 15 minutes from the historical town of Seneca Falls. There are four outside seating areas, including a table with seating for 8 in the lanai (FL term for screened in patio). There is also a nice fire pit that we unfortunately didn't have time to use. I went with my mother, her two sisters, a good friend of my mother's, and my poor solo-man husband, so it was nice to have the guest house all to ourselves. The property was clean and well maintained. Janice provided very good directions and customer service. The listing was mostly accurate. We had one issue and that was the bottom bunk with the double bed does not have a mattress; instead it was just covered with a thin plastic like pad and a blanket, which rendered it useless to our adult group. It was described as for children, but I guess I would recommend moving one of the real futon mattresses, for example the one in the guest house, to the bottom bunk for comfort. All other beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and may stay there again in the future.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed the cottage. It is beautful in the fall. I am sorry about the mattress. The bunkbed with the futon on the bottom is a new purchase and I bought a middle of the line mattress for it but I will replace with a very good futon mattress this spring. Hope you come back again!

Another Great Weekend at Lake Cayuga

  • 5 of 5

Being at the waters edge was a thrill of a life time....

October is a great time to be there without all the hustle and bustle of the summer crowd which made our stay very peaceful and quiet.... Fall scenery provides an explosion of colors and wonderment that you never get tired of....

The lake itself has it's own ambience .... The cabin was perfect for our needs, well kept and was the icing on the cake....

Excellent vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cottage on the lake to get away. My family and I enjoyed it so much we want to come back next year. It is very peaceful and I love the fact that the lake is right out the back door. We also love the fact that it is pet friendly. Our dog couldn't stay away from the water. The cottage is cozy and it feels like a home away from home. The owner of the cottage is very nice and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. That just makes everything so much easier when renting a cottage!

About Janice DeLucia

This is my home away from home. I will probably retire to this cottage -- hopefully sooner than later. I fell in love with Cayuga Lake when I was a freshman at Eisenhower College at the top of the lake. Now the New York Chiropractic College. I rented a cottage on Cayuga Lake for 7 years before I found the perfect cottage to buy. I spend as much time there as I can. Typically July as I live in Buffalo.

Janice DeLucia purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Janice DeLucia chose Romulus

Since I have spent some much time at the cottage ---- for the summers that my children were growing up the whole summer -- I hope that i have created a unique place for people to rent and also to feel at home. The kitchen is fully stocked; the porch was designed so you could practically live out there; the master bedroom was redesigned so that you can lay in bed and see and hear the lake; the decorations are a combination of pictures by local artists as well as things that remind people to enjoy their vacation and their life.

What makes this cottage unique

Stunning views of the lake from porch, seating area, kitchen, and master bedroom. Steps to the lake. Can swim, float, canoe, or padleboat. Can bring a boat and launch it nearby. Porch is great place to relax, eat, play cards and games, or just watch the boats go by. Multiple seating areas and dining areas inside and outside . Separate guest cottage is great for couples or grandparents traveling with family who want a little space sometimes.
