The main living area on the second floor enjoys the sounds of surf, gentle ocean breezes and trade winds as well as excellent views from the huge covered lanai. Local art and colorful design touches bring sophistication to this beautiful home. For those who need to work or play online, the house has high-speed internet service with full property coverage and a mesh router.
When ripe, enjoy the many fresh fruits that grow on this property such as mangoes, papayas, bananas, limes, ruby-red grapefruits, mandarin oranges and coconuts. Enjoy the gorgeous, flowering landscaped yard with ample lawn for your family to play or walk across the street to the beach-shore access. Here you will discover the 1.5 miles of incredible blue pacific shoreline that boasts world-class snorkeling and diving that makes Puako so famous.
Situated near the end of Puako Beach Drive, the home is near the Petroglyph State Park and is bordered by state land with incredible views of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Kohala Mountains. From this location it is a pleasant walk to the Fairmont Orchid Hotel and Mauna Lani Bay Hotel.
This property has a long successful vacation rental history and with a complete face lift it is an incredible hidden gem on Kohala Coast of the Big Island that is surely to become the Belle of Puako! Puako, the best kept secret on the Big Island, with just a few lucky residents, it is simply heaven on earth!

The Neighborhood:
Puako is still the only ocean front residential community along the Gold Coast/Kohala Coast of the Big Island nestled between the Mauna Lani Resort, Fairmont Orchid and Mauna Kea/Hapuna Resorts. Hapuna Beach State Park has earned the reputation of being one of Hawaii Island's finest beaches. It is the largest White Sands Beach on The Big Island and consistently rates on Top Ten lists internationally. Hapuna Beach offers some wonderful opportunities for swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, sunbathing and snorkeling and is just a mile from Puako. You can even drive the back road to Hapuna Beach and not get on the Highway. Local shore fisherman can be seen daily enjoying the great reef fishing. Puako Beach Drive has no through access which keeps it virtually still undiscovered by many.
There are six separate "beach" accesses along this stretch of beach. Although there is not a tremendous amount of sand, there are tide pools and the extensive protected reef is remarkable. During low tide, small pools dot the entire coastline and these pools are filled with small sea life that make excellent areas to explore for all ages. If you enjoy shore diving, kayaking and snorkeling you can find a spot along this stretch of shoreline to enter the water. Offshore the reef is home to a wide variety of fish and many days you will see dolphins playing right from the shore. Enjoy the Whales who return each year to mate and give birth in the tropical warm waters during the winter months.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended for getting around the area and enjoying all that Hawaii Island has on offer.

NOISE
Please keep in mind that Guest is in a very small and peaceful residential neighborhood. Noise carries over quiet landscapes and near water. IBR asks that Guest and Guest’s children respect Property neighbors' privacy, peace and quiet. Guests are asked to adhere to the “Good Neighbor Policy” as follows: quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. during which time the noise from the short term vacation rental shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the Property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
NON-SMOKING RENTAL
This is a non-smoking rental. No smoking is allowed inside any of the buildings on the Property. No cigarette butts in gravel or yard.
PLEASE KEEP SCREENS AND DOORS TIGHTLY CLOSED TO PREVENT PESTS FROM ENTERING THE HOME. IBR homes are treated on a regular basis; however, pests are a normal part of life in the tropics. Please let IBR know right away if Guest has any issues. IBR will do its best to remedy. The owner retains the services of a professional pest control company for the purpose of maintaining insect control in and around the premises, on a regular basis. However, this Property is in the "Tropics" and insects and rodents can be resistant to complete eradication. IBR cannot guaranty complete control over Mother Nature's insects and rodents and will not issue any refunds due to the sighting of insects and/or rodents.
SUPPLIES
As part of our commitment to ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable stay for our guest, we provide a complimentary set of initial supplies (paper goods and soaps) upon your arrival. These supplies are intended to help you get started and make your transition into our accommodation as smooth as possible. After your initial supply is depleted, it is your responsibility to replenish any additional supplies needed for the duration of your stay.
TRAFFIC
Please DRIVE SLOWLY in our neighborhoods. The speed limits are 10 mph to 25 mph and there are many children and adult pedestrians and bicyclists.
USE OF PROPERTY
Guest may use the home only as a place of vacation. Guest may not use it for commercial purposes, for any unlawful, improper, offensive purpose or illegal activity. Please refer to Guest Book upon arrival for details and instructions concerning use of pool, spa, and/or air conditioning if these amenities are available at the rented Property.
NO PETS OR ANIMALS ALLOWED
NEIGHBORHOOD CONSTRUCTION
IBR is not responsible for any construction noise or inconvenience that may occur during Guest stay. No refunds will be given. Although IBR cannot guarantee full knowledge of any planned or current construction occurring, Guest may contact IBR (90) days prior to Guest arrival to inquire if IBR is aware of construction adjacent to the Property occurring and Guest may choose to cancel at that time IF there is construction occurring that may affect the Property UNLESS Guest has already been made aware of construction during time of or shortly after Guest booking was made.
When securing Guest booking with payment Guest is consenting to have read, understood and accepted all the terms and conditions of our Island Beach Rentals, LLC. Rental Agreement as excerpted above as well as the IBR terms and conditions also sent by direct email to guest at time of booking.

We had a great stay, the yard is beautiful, kitchen/common area and large deck very comfortable, and the garage had lots of sand toys, chairs and other items to make our beach visits more fun. Unfortunately for us, the weather didn't cooperate but the house was wonderful!

Perfection in Puako
Our family loved our time at the house! The house was bright and clean and provided plenty of space for the 6 of us. When we weren’t out enjoying the water and the beauty, we LOVED hanging out on the front deck for games, cocktails and all our meals. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect relaxation retreat
This property is a great home away from home. It was well equipped with all the necessities- bbq, beach chairs, kitchen ware, bathroom amenities, etc. The lanai was peaceful and the ceiling fans and air conditioners worked perfectly. Location to the shoreline was across the street and a few houses over - super easy for watching the sunsets each night. Highly recommend this home and we would definitely stay there again.

Big Island Adventure
Hale L'ea was our vacation home for 9 days accommodating a multi-generational family of 4 adults and 2 children (9 &12yo). We loved the lush garden yard containing a multitude of flowering and fruiting plants and trees and all the tropical birds and wildlife. This clean, spacious, airy home is perfectly located, offering much privacy, yet close to beaches and services. The easy access to the shoreline and area beaches and snorkeling was fabulous. Spending time on the Lanai was precious. Our hosts were wonderful and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfect family home!
This home was ideal for a multigeneration family. As grandparents, we appreciated the comfort and quiet of the downstairs studio. And our daughters and their families had plenty of privacy and play room for the little ones upstairs. The house was clean and well appointed - we also had everything we needed for long days at the beach. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to provide basic cooking condiments (salt, oil, etc.) downstairs and to add an additionl cover over the plastic lined mattress cover downstairs. It was pretty sweaty even on cooler nights. The air conditioning both upstairs and down was much appreciated!! Thank you! Our oupstaiups. It was much to hot tairs.
