Disappointed
We were all very excited to go to this house. I was assured that i didn't need four wheel drive to access the driveway. Promptly upon arrival we got stuck in the sand right in front of the home, after unloading and digging ourselves out we got stuck again. We could not park there for fear of a 3rd incident and weren't given any other option by the rental company. We ended up parking 20 min. away in the Food Lion parking lot.
The pictures that i had seen when i rented the home in January were not the same as the condition of the house. The house was run down, semi dirty and unkept...the dishwasher was not assembled on the interior and there was definitely a cockroach infestation (disgusting). The Big water bugs as well were in good numbers. Many of the pickets on the deck were missing or loose and the tile on both decks were cracked and missing grout. Some of the doors to bathrooms and bedrooms did not close properly or lock. The furniture was run down and overy used and the sliding door to the deck was very difficult to open.
On a good note, some of the problems were fixed by midweek, especially the pickets. The view was amazing and the beds were comfortable. After much back and forth with the rental company they agreed to give us 5% back from our total rent for the week.
They have now changed the pictures on the site to better reflect the condition of the house. I definitely don't think it was worth what we paid for. I have stayed at better for less.
