Scott, thank you for staying with us at Dakota Log Cabin! We are so glad your family had a great time and that you were able to explore The Black Hills. Thanks for being great guest, come back again!
This cabin was absolutely perfect for our group of 4 couples. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and every room was super clean. We grilled on the deck each night and played games at the dining room table. The view was spectacular! Check in and check out was a breeze and owners replied quickly to any question we had. We couldn't have stayed at a nicer place. Thank you so much!!

Ann, thank you for staying with us at Dakota Lodge Cabin! We are so glad you had such a great stay and had everything you needed. We look forward to hosting you again!
My father and his siblings visit the Black Hills every other year and stay in a hotel, this year I joined them and we wanted privacy and room to be together as a family and our own rooms. This cabin was the perfect place, and the views are amazing.

Beautiful cabin with everything we needed for a stay away from home! Wildlife every morning! Great place to stay between many gorgeous sightseeing areas- devils tower, spearfish canyon, Mount Rushmore, Custer Park and the Badlands. Perfect - just wish we had added a day to enjoy the cabin.

Quiet and serene location
The cabin was in a picturesque location with beautiful views. We enjoyed seeing wildlife in the yard during our stay. However, there were a few items that we weren't satisfied with. The internet had a very weak signal (needed for some work while away) and there were also things that weren't as clean as one would expect them to be. Overall, our experiencence was pleasant and relaxing.

Hi Greg, thank you for staying with us at Dakota Log Cabin. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We apologize that the cabin could have used some extra cleaning, that is not our standard of cleanliness. We also apologize about the wifi, it can definitely be spotty in the hills.

Nice place. Need to adjust listing
Easy to find and easy process throughout. Listing of property wasn't 100% accurate but not a huge deal. No fireplace, which isn't a big deal for summer but Listing says there is

Hi Nolan, thank you for staying with us at Dakota Log Cabin. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we will make sure to update our listing so it does not show a fireplace.
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! The description of the cabin is spot on. Better than I imagined, the pictures don't do it justice!
Two super minor things, but just a heads up. Knob was broken on the main floor stereo system so I couldn't turn it on. Not that we watched a lot of TV, but it would have been nice to have an updated, larger TV for movies in the evening. Although it was great to have all the cable movie stations!

We didn't stay at.this property as there was no air conditioning and this was not listed in the disc
I am sad to say it was not.a good start. The Dakota cabin did not have airconditionong. This was not.made known at the time. We were over to another cabin Bigfoot Bungalow. Upon arrival we found that it was not.clean . I had to do laundry and make beds before we.coukd sleep. Then we had to find something to eat and by that time there was not.much open. Found the Dakota Mart and finally ate ate 8 pm. Next.day went.to Spearfish for groceries. Had to sweep and vacuum the lodge as well. Not a good start.the rest of.the week was great. We loved the bungalow, but ot did not have the view the Dakota lodge had.

Thanks Kathy - yes things were abnormally warm this September so we were happy to let you move to a cabin that had air conditioning. On the listing we do not have Air-conditioning listed as an amenity. We wanted to move you to a clean home but I understand you were tired by that time so you didn't want to move again. Glad to hear the rest of the week was great and that the Bungalow worked out for you!
The cabin was a great fit for 3 couples plus one of our adult kids. Slept all 7 of us comfortably, and having 2 bathrooms was perfect. The driveway fit our 3 Jeeps + one extra vehicle. View off the deck is AMAZING! Kitchen had all the amenities we needed. Appreciated having the 2 gathering spaces so people could spread out as needed. Being so close to Terry Peak meant we were close to several trail heads, Deadwood, Lead, and even ventured to Spearfish for dinner one night. I can see how this would be a great winter stay as well. Thank you!
There was a robin that consistently flew into the window and patio door on the upper floor, every day, several times a day.
That was entertaining lol. The main floor was a little cramped especially the kitchen setup. We had a terrible time locking the door every time we left. It has a double lock system and we fought with it EVERY time we left the cabin.. frustrating
We had a good time in the area sightseeing etc. the beds are not normal queens, they are smaller.
