Our home is owned by 3 couples. We have it as investment property, and decided to rent it for other people to enjoy, since we live in the area and already reap the benefits of the lake and its amenities.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
False River is a wonderful lake with plenty of water sports and fishing. This home is located in a quiet gated community. The property also has a gazebo pier to have get togethers or for fishing. Also, on the property is a club house for entertaining with a flat screen tv and great kitchen with stainless appliances and granite countertops.
Our family loved the place & had a very good time. Some suggestions...bring more paper products (toilet tissue & paper towels) and large pots/pans if you intend to cook. The utensils there were sparse & an "eclectic" assortment. Not many eating out options (Satterfield's was excellent but pricey)). Pizza Hut does NOT deliver & was the worst excuse for pizza I ever experienced...laughable!! We plan to come again & more prepared to feed our crew at the house. The house is very nice and HUGE!
This house was nothing short of AMAZING!!! We all enjoyed our stay. The owners communication with us was great! We loved having the lake in our backyard! The gazebo was perfect for fishing and relaxing! We loved that there was lots of supplies in the house! We came in during the night and passed the house a couple times but eventually found it. The scenery is great the house is great and you gotta stay there to really appreciate this beautiful home!
Very relaxing and beautiful setting. The club house is marvelous! There is plenty of room for everyone.
Due to heave rains in the area the lake was closed for our stay. We found out before our stay. The owners gave me a full refund. Great service and a class act! I will rebook on a later date.
We had a great time. There was plenty of room, the house was beautiful, and the scenery was great! We will book it again for a longer time so that we can enjoy the river more. I only gave it 4 stars because the beds were a little uncomfortable and we would have liked to have WiFi.
The home itself was very nice and the owner is very cordial. New, clean, and well appointed. The owner unfortunatley does not explain (and the photos do not clarify):
1. The home is not directly on the water front...it actually has 2 other homes seperating it from the water.
2. There is not a spectacular lake view from any window or balcony. The balcony faces another home which about 20 ft away.
3. The gazebo and club house , although very nice, are community property and are not rented solely by you....they are quite a walk from the actual house.
In summary, the house is nice...the description and photos do not reveal the distance, lack of view, and pier/club house situation.
Your best way to come in from Lafayette, is to stay on Hwy 190, until you pass Livonia. Pass the 2 lights in Livonia and turn left on Hwy 978. When you hit False River Rd., take a right. It is a few 100 feet from there, on the left.
Coming in from Baton Rouge, stay on Hwy 190, until you see, La. 1, New Roads, Marksville. Stay on that road, until you see a gated community, on the right.
