360 degrees of heaven, the most magnificent views on Topsail... The house is absolutely fabulous and laid out for your enjoyment... Check out our pictures! With a surround view of the ocean and intracoastal waterway....the best sunsets on the island can be found on the top deck! Did I forget to mention we have our own private beach access with a deck, just across from the pool? We always heat this in the spring in fall so everyone can enjoy a quick dip! And, we have access to a private day dock where your friends can boat over and tie up with no hassel.
Topsail is 30 minutes North of Wilmington and about two hours East of Raleigh. The Island has beautiful sandy beaches with very little traffic (with the exception of check-out time!). A Harris Teeter and a Movie Theatre that we hope will be open by summer 2013. We currently have an IGA on the Island that carries all your basic needs and a Food Lion just before you cross the bridge.
There are several great restaurants to enjoy while vacationing or you could just cook at home and relax... while enjoying the most beautiful sunset ever. Kayaking and bike rentals, paddle boarding and surfing... all are available. A very family oriented island... you will find that once you discover Topsail, you will come back year after year!

Spacious Home with Great views!!
Thanks for allowing Our Women's retreat to enjoy your property. it was great for all 25 women the view is awesome. a few issues we had some we address some we didn't .I would suggest for such a nice home you replace the couch in den on 2nd floor that wasn't a great look or fit for the house.
We are so glad to hear that you loved this home! The owners are making some slight renovations to the home before next season, so we invite you out next year for another retreat to see the updates. Please let us know when you visit next as we would love to share our home with you again!
Beautiful spacious beach house. Great setup for children/teenagers. Will definitely stay again
House is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out. Needs a Keurig coffee maker! We will definitely go back here next year. Highly recommend for large groups.
Thank you so much Linda!!! We love this home and we're so glad you did too! Thank you for the feed back about the Keurig, we're always looking for positive ways to improve our homes. We hope you travel to Topsail again soon and be sure to let us know when you're coming so we can reserve 360 Degree's of Heaven or any of our other great properties for you!
Great beach vacation!!!
This home has beautiful views of the ocean & sound. Getting great pictures of the sunrise and sunset. It's a beautiful home with easy beach access. We have a large family and loved the kitchen, as we all take a turn cooking our family speciality for everyone. The elevator is definitely a plus. Plenty of off street parking, and easy access to launch your kayaks in the shared dock area. We would definitely stay again.
Patty, thank you so much for your feedback! We love hearing reviews like yours, its why we are here. Family time is very important to our office and hearing that everyone enjoyed their stay makes us extremely happy. We would absolutely love to have you as well as your guest stay with us again. We hear the 2018 season has plenty of openings available right now! ; )
What a wonderful beach vacation we had!
We so enjoyed the layout and the nice sized bedrooms at this home. The curtains in the den were a fabulous addition from last year and I'm sure helped to keep the heat out and possibly has lowered the power bill. The pool guy came on Wed to clean again... that was nice. All the wind and rain certainly does blow sand into the pool! We enjoyed cooking our favorite meals in the large kitchen and love those large plates! The views of the ocean and the sunset on the back deck were just glorious! Thank you for the memories my family will have for a lifetime!
We are so happy that you had such a great vacation. We do understand that those little details can really make a stay that much better. We would love to have you again and can't wait to see you for your next family vacation!
Best Kitchen we've ever had - showed some typical minor beach house wear
Overall our group was happy we booked this house. We are an extended family and have booked numerous beach houses before.
The kitchen had an awesome expansive counter top area where our group of 19 could congregate, prepare meals and eat together. There are plenty of dishes, cups, silverware and kitchen utensils and seating. Having two dishwashers was very handy.
Our main issue with the house, which we have found occurs in many beach houses just from normal use, is the wear/stains/marks on some of the furniture, rugs, walls, pool deck and driveway. Because there is a security deposit, and the terms of the contract outlined we could be held responsible for any damage, we felt we needed to report all the issues to the property manager day 1 to not be blamed for the relatively minor issues. Starfish Reality couldn't have been any nicer and understanding. The few issues that actually needed to be dealt with were taking care of in a few days.
PROS: The close beach was awesome. 2 master suites are very roomy. Lots of beds to use for a large group. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of seating. We enjoyed the Topsail community. Several restaurants we went to were very good. The people of NC are polite and friendly. Wilmington is only 45-50 minutes away. Stevenson Honda was very good fixing the AC in my van before we had to travel back to KY.
CONS: Overall condition of the furniture (bar stool & living room furniture seats stained/2nd floor tv area couch vinyl flaking off), marks on walls, stains/dirt on rugs, pool decking warped (we put our our caution tape where it was uneven to keep people from tripping), some of the rooms were too crammed for adults (2 Q's plus a twin & Bunk room) - not much room for luggage. During a heavy rain the road along the beach can flood temporarily and there was a ditch created on the driveway entrance which we fixed ourselves. Pool is pretty small but at least there is one!
Overall it's about being on vacation together and we had a great time. We would consider booking the house again.
So very glad you enjoyed your stay at 360 Degrees of Heaven. We have to agree the location and the layout of the house is just great for family gatherings. And, we also agree and have already begun working on recovering the couches and chairs in the family room. They do take a beating with such large groups coming and going!
We do hope you will come again! All the best to you and your family.
Wouldn't Rent This Property Again
A family member had planned her wedding for Columbus Day weekend 2016 on Topsail Island and many family members rented houses on the island for the weekend. I thought I was booking 360 Degrees of Heaven directly with the owner on VRBO but I found out later I'd been shifted to dealing with Starfish Rentals & Realty. Not sure who is more to blame for what followed but I would avoid dealing with Starfish and this property, in particular, in the future to be safe.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Matthew hit the area that very weekend. Luckily, it was a well-forecasted storm and we knew more than a week in advance that there was no way the wedding could actually take place that weekend. The southern coast of North Carolina was the bullseye for a record-breaking hurricane precisely on the day we were scheduled to arrive.
I didn't really anticipate a problem since the record-breaking storm hitting Florida and then South and North Carolina was all anyone was talking about on the national news for at least a week. Unfortunately, I was wrong. When we tried to cancel our reservation, Starfish told me it was "business as usual" on Topsail and refused to let us cancel our reservation or even move the booking to another date when the area wasn't under the threat of a major storm.
They insisted on keeping our full rental fee as well as the added charge for rented linens (bed sheets) for a home that was never used. Their reasoning was that somehow the rental company and homeowner were incurring a loss on account of our cancellation. Makes total sense in a situation where there is rain in the forecast so your guests opt to cancel their vacation. But that is far from what happened here.
To suggest that there was an opportunity cost incurred because the reservation had been held for us -- instead of making the property available to others who may want to rent the home -- was a complete joke. The southern coast of North Carolina was the bulls eye for a record breaking hurricane. Flights into and out of Wilmington were cancelled. Portions of interstate 95 were closed. Everyone already on the island was being told, emphatically, to leave town. And we've all seen the videos of the aftermath on Topsail - major flooding. Not only would it have been unrealistic and unsafe for anyone to be heading to the island on Friday October 7th but -- if anyone made it there -- they likely would have left with significant damage to proper
I do understand Jennifer's frustration with Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew was a last minute surprise to us all; disrupting both residents and visitors plans and schedules alike. I am compelled however to respond to this review in order to clarify the facts as well as stating for public record Starfish Rentals and Realty adhered to the Vacation Rental Act/and with the supporting laws and policies of the NC Real Estate Commission.
We adhered to the policies of the Vacation Rental Act - The home had been reserved since April 15, 2016 in her name. It is necessary to state that although we were not legally required to return any monies, we did voluntarily (despite the claims made in this review) refund the security deposit, the cleaning fee, the administration costs; everything except the rent and associated taxes.
The local authorities ( recorded messages from the Mayors of Surf City, Topsail Beach, and North Topsail Beach ) issued a voluntary evacuation for all three towns on Topsail Island preceding the storms approach. When the voluntary evacuation notice was given, it was issued with "no restrictions". With this, the local authorities did not recognize Hurricane Matthew as a severe enough threat to Topsail Island to issue a mandatory evacuation. There was no mandatory evacuation order issued and she voluntarily chose not to come.
Jennifer voluntarily elected to decline travelers insurance for her vacation. She initialed our rental contract stating her intent. Under North Carolina Real Estate Commission law, if a guest is not offered travelers insurance, and a mandatory evacuation occurs, the guest is entitled to a full refund of their monies. If a guest is offered travelers insurance, voluntarily declines it, and a mandatory evacuation occurs, no rental agency is legally bound to refund any monies.
I deeply regret that she wrote a negative review with unsubstantiated claims against us and presented it without a clear understanding of the cancellation polices. We are a small, family owned business, and want nothing more than to provide a memorable family vacation for our many guests and repeat guests.
Despite the weather, we had other guests arrive and check-in and we had guests that elected to stay during the storm in their rentals. I myself drove around the entire island during the storm inspecting our properties without hardship or any damage to my vehicle. The only locations that experienced flooding was the canal areas.
