About Mindy Jones

This property has been in my family since I was a baby. I've enjoyed many holidays in it over the years. It's one of my favorite places on the planet because of how peaceful it is.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much we enjoyed the cabin and our stay in Taos. Everything was just perfect for us. What a wonderful little treasure of a cabin to have in the family! Thank you for the well equipped kitchen … everything you could want to cook a meal, and then some! We only wished we could have stayed longer. The neighbors where very kind and we enjoyed meeting them too.

Thanks so much and we hope to come back again.

Perfect cabin for our small family to escape the Texas heat!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin in the best location and it was perfect for our family. 20-30 minutes drive from Taos up the mountain but close to the little town of arroyo seco.

The cabin is in a beautiful setting with lots of birds and hummingbirds, a very loud and truly babbling stream in the back, and tons of great hikes nearby.

Inside the kitchen is really well stocked and the house itself is nice, comfy beds etc.

a close drive to the gorge and a neat brewery, it was just a great vacation.

Owner was quick to respond.

The cell service was very weak even just driving into Taos and mine was totally gone at the cabin but the wi fi works surprisingly well.

I don’t mind having my phone off on vacation.

Can’t recommend this place enough- we loved it!

Beautiful, quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this little cabin! It was clean and the beds were comfortable, and though it's small it seems to function well. The sound of the creek out back, plus the breeze through the aspen leaves, was idyllic. We spent lots of time outside or at least inside with the doors open. Letting the kids play outside while we cooked or planned our day was really nice (it's 110 degrees this time of year at home). The kitchen isn't large but has enough space for more than one person to cook, and there are plenty of supplies including pots, pans, spices, dishes, serving spoons and spatulas, etc. Taos ski valley and Arroyo Seco were just a few minutes away by car and nice to visit and walk around, and Taos is a 30 min drive. We wished the cabin had screen doors or at least screens on the windows, but perhaps it's set up more for winter use. Regardless, we loved it and hope to stay there again sometime.

Rustic, charming, awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

Mindy’s ’ place was exactly what we needed/wanted. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. The bed downstairs was very comfortable (we didn’t use the upstairs). The fire pit by the river was amazing. It was close to hiking and the quaint artist community of Arroyo Seco and a fabulous restaurant, Sabrosso. If you want to cook in stop in Taos for groceries. We’ll go again.

Wifi and cell service is weak. Satelite tv went out during snow storm. Other than that, we had a great experience.
