Listening to what my guests like, what they would expect at their dream destination. I can't control the weather, but I can control meeting your expectations at my Summer House. This 3BR/2BA NON-SMOKING Condominium is in the Summer House Complex, a class above the other resorts, and a gated community. It has breathtaking views for miles and miles from its 14th floor tiled balcony that wraps around our corner unit. Now, this balcony is SO big you can lay on the lounge chair and still have room at your feet for someone to pass in front of you! ALL of you will have enough room to sit on the balcony at one time, not in shifts! You can watch the dolphins play! Hear the waves, sip that morning coffee in peaceful bliss, see the stars, ships, manta rays, toast the sunset...

You'll be surrounded in luxury in this completely furnished unit with many extras, such as a full size washer and dryer, full stereo with CD player, four DVD players! Flat screen TV's in every room! Master bedroom is gulf-front, with a king bed and its' own door to the huge balcony. The side bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has twin beds, and also a 25 inch TV with VCR! Blackout curtains in all rooms so you might get a chance to sleep in - maybe the kids will too?

And I am so sorry, but my kitchen and dining room right now DO NOT LOOK LIKE ANY OF THESE PICTURES! They both have been renovated, updated, replaced and refreshed! I just want to surprise my repeat fall birds, snow birds and spring birds (my repeaters from November to May each year!) and want them to see it firsthand in person! You too will be amazed at the new kitchen!

Each bedroom opens to the balcony. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa. Two full-size bathrooms - the master has the HUGE walk in shower and was totally remodeled for your comfort and use, the guest has the HUGE bathtub!! Soft fluffy towels for eight, and clean fresh Egyptian sheets on all the beds will be waiting! Every room has been freshly redecorated and updated! We even have a 'butler' to great you and hold your keys! (He keeps all secrets too, what happens at the beach stays at the beach!)Totally equipped kitchen with all stainless steel NEW appliances and EVERY possible item provided -coffee maker, grinder, blender, bagel toaster,all new cookware too!

This spacious corner unit allows extra sunlight to the living and dining room, and spectacular sunsets from the side. Relaxing multi-color city lights to dine by! Plenty of room to sit back and relax. Even on the 14th floor, you can still hear the ocean lull you to sleep! The living room is peaceful and relaxing. Luxury all around.

Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. If the reservation is cancelled prior to 30 days of the scheduled arrival date, all monies will be refunded less a $25.00 processing fee. If the reservation is not cancelled prior to 30 days of the scheduled arrival date, then the deposit and 50% of the rent will be forfeited. The forfeited rental fee will be refunded if the owner is able to secure a rental for the cancelled dates. There are no refunds for early departures other than for forced evacuations due to natural or man made disasters. In the event of a forced evacuation, a credit will be given for unused days. If you have cancelled over 30 days in advance and can rebook at a future date, the $25.00 processing fee will be deducted from your future rent due.

As always, I am willing to work with you in any way concerning adversities that could interrupt a vacation.

About Sandy Wilgus

I am in my 50's, as is my husband. We moved from Michigan in 2006 after my husband received a 'forced' retirement from General Motors. Living in Alabama was a lifelong dream of mine, as I had visited different parts of the state many times. Fortunately my husband fell in love with the beach too. He is currently working at an airplane manufacturing company in Foley, while I am temporarily between jobs. We hope someday to actually truly retire and look forward to staying at Summer House with an indefinite length of time - no end date to head somewhere else!

Added note: April 2011: We just returned from a week cruising the Hawaiian Islands. It was beautiful -BUT- as soon as we could the same day we returned, we headed for Summer House to enjoy OUR BEACH...just as pretty to us!

Why Sandy Wilgus chose Alabama

In 1989 my family began vacationing in Orange Beach. We loved it so much we purchased a two bed/two bath ocean SIDE condo up the street from Summer House. WE loved THAT so much we knew we would want to retire here someday, and needed a bigger condo to accommodate our children and their families later. In checking the different resorts, Summer House stood out way ahead of any other condo around. I remember looking up at the building from the two-tiered pool side and asking my husband if he thought we could ever be able to be so fortunate to own a unit there! In 1997 our dream was realized as we bought 1406A. We have since retired and moved nearby, not quite able to afford full time retirement at the beach just yet. But we visit weekly, if not daily, and take tremendous pride in keeping it in the 'ahhh' category we first experienced when we entered our condo. We hope you feel the same.

What makes this condo unique

The balcony is number one - to eat, rest or visit on. Walking the beach, the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Nearby shopping is so convenient for fun or groceries. Sometimes we have forgotten how much fun it is to play miniature golf with family of all ages! Personally, I prefer to just do dolphin watch 8-10 hours a day from the boardwalk by the pool. I used to offer a dollar to the first person who could spot a dolphin for me! Still works to this day!

My brother and his wife, from Ohio (me too originally), loved your place. They will come down either in late spring before kids are out of school or early fall after kids are back in school. We have rented places on Tybee Island, GA; Jekyll Island, GA; St. Simons Island, GA; Sarasota, FL; Boca Raton, FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and your place topped them all with more value for the dollar.

The view was to die for. And the options made the weather a non factor. By having the beach, an outdoor pool, and an indoor pool, it didn’t matter what the weather did, you were still going to have a great time. My wife used the exercise room every day.

I brought two binoculars, you had one pair and a telescope, wow. My brother loves to fish and caught 4 fish by fishing the surf.

My wife brought her laptop, I brought just my ipad. We were not expecting wifi. BONUS! That was great. The kitchen was really stocked well with just about anything you needed. I love to cook and we had all meals in the condo except for one. You even had a slow cooker. I love those for putting something together and six hours later you come home to a meal hot and ready.

The washer/dryer was great. We did clothes the on Friday before heading for the Beau Rivage, MS.

The night we went out for dinner, we had chosen three restaurants from the info you sent. Taking with locals, in grocery stores and shops, we settled on the Original Oyster House about 15 min away on Rt 59. Best seafood meal, it was delicious and price was reasonable.

2016, my brother and his wife are coming to visit in May. I can’t commit yet, but I will keep a close eye on availability.

Notes:
There are books for beach side reading, a few board games and cards for evening's play. Some puzzles for those that have the time. Plenty of blankets and extra pillows. We provide other extras that you will just need to stay in the condo to see (don't want to give up all our trade secrets here!). We stay in the condo whenever there is a small opening so we are constantly on the lookout to be sure that it is equipped with items you may need and maybe even some you didn't know you did! Everything to help you enjoy a luxury vacation.

Great View, Great Location, Beautiful Condo

Beautiful Condo, Kitchen remodel turned out spectacular. Roomy Living room feels like a house. Walk in Shower in Master bath is nice feature. Views from the condo were as good as it gets. Can't wait to return.

A little piece of Heaven

Our home away from home 1 week a year. My husband and I look forward to this trip every year.

One of the best places we've ever stayed. Sandy and Dean have a beautiful condo with a view that is breathtaking. If you're looking for a place to call home while you're on vacation this is the place. You can cook in or go out to the many restaurants in the area. Need souvenir's from your trip? You won't have to go far. We're on our way home as I write this and we can't wait to go back.
