About The Owner

We love the outdoors. Living in Boulder has many wonderful opportunities to hike locally and provides many bike paths around town and trails very nearby around the foothills. We also enjoy dancing NIA at the local centers where there is a wide variety of classes offered. Skiing is a big part of our lives and the Colorado mountains are in close proximity to Boulder where day trips are a plus.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Whittier

Boulder is within driving distance to many popular ski areas, as Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, KeyStone, Copper Mountain, Winter Park & Aspen. “The Hill District” at the University of Colorado is a happening area where you can get a taste of the lively nightlife and sample Boulder’s locally-brewed beer. Just jump on ‘hop’ for an 8-minute bus ride. Boulder is very green with firm recycling programs. Drop by “The Kitchen”, an Eco-Friendly restaurant or choose one of several organic restaurants. You’ll find cars fueled with bio-diesel, wind powered shops and solar powered Wi-Fi 35 minutes from downtown Denver yet remote in the foothills, keeps Boulder from getting too crowded with tourists. Take in the stunning views from Chautauqua Park, located at the foot of Boulder’s mountains. The Colorado Chautauqua was named a National Historic Landmark & hosts film series, music festivals, art exhibits, nature hikes & concert performances. You may “hop” on the local buses, and get to an area of your choice easily, as the buses run every few minutes. Boulder has 43,000 acres of open space … find yourself on a simple “stroll” around town. You can watch a play under the stars at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival right here in Boulder. Also enjoy a free outdoor music concert and visit the many galleries … rated one of the best art towns in the country. All in all, highlighting just a few, Boulder tops the lists for its recreation, culture, health, business climate and overall ‘quality of life”. There’s much much more.

What makes this house unique

This exquisite Victorian home is centrally located and one can easily take advantage of all that Boulder has to offer. Boulder was recently rated the #1 Sports Town in America by Outside Magazine. Rent a bike and see the town on the 5.5 miles of bike trails through the center of town on Boulder Creek Path; or ride along Boulder Creek or challenge the hard core trails nearby. A perfect day outdoors could include hiking around the Flatirons nearby or a visit to Boulder Falls Walk 6 blocks to Boulder Theater for live music Drive up Flagstaff Mountain for a spectacular view overlooking the town of Boulder, just 8-10 minutes away NIA is very popular dance for men & women of all ages and offers a great form of exercise… a personal growth, body-mind-spirit fitness program. Dance to incredible music & move your body from dance arts, martial arts and healing arts such as yoga. Through expressive movement, NIA empowers people to achieve physical, mental, emotional & spiritual well-being. There are several places to dance or work out including 3 Recreational Centers and several dance studios… just a bike ride away.

Beautiful, comfortable, outstanding host

  • 5 of 5

We could not have felt more welcome. The apartment is thoughtfully appointed and immaculate, as well as elegantly decorated, and so comfortable! The location is outstanding -- quiet neighborhood but in easy walking distance to Pearl Street, Boulder Canyon Park and several grocery stores. Susan is a wonderful host! I'd love to come back someday.
