Our stay at the Fishing Cottage was wonderful! The property was clean and spacious. It had everything we needed for a weekend getaway.Butterball was the best host! I loved getting to drink my coffee and watch the horses and sheep roam.We can't wait to stay here again the next time we're in town.
Great cabin on a farm next to a river. In addition to being a great place to go fishing, my girlfriend and I enjoyed the hot tub, cooking in the well equipped kitchen, and the farm dog Butterball was really entertaining!!
I found the peace and privacy I wanted in abundance at this cottage, a great place to spend a few days recharging the Spirit. The covered deck and hot tub were especially relaxing. I only wish I'd brought my rod and reel to have a go at the river, a beautiful flow of water. I had zero issues with the property and the host was attentive to every inquiry. I will definitely recommend this place to friends.
We were pleasantly surprised by the openness of the cabin, inside and out. This was a lovely place for my husband and two of our girls to stay for two nights. We took advantage of the outdoors eating on the porch, walking the path or riding on the tailgate, fishing and kayaking as well as playing with the dog. We want to return when we have more time.
The location of the cottage was just breathtaking. The back porch made a really great spot to sit in the mornings and listen to birds and look at nature. Butterball was a wonderful addition as well. I know you’ll see a lot of reviews about him here, but you just never really know how he is until you get the chance to meet him in person! I would definitely recommend this stay to others, and I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
This cottage was everything we hoped for and more. It was truly magical from the moment we arrived, greeted by not only butterball, but 2 horses strolling up to us as well. We had the most amazing time being escorted to the river and back every day by butterball. He did not leave our side or our cottage porch our entire stay. He was even a part of my proposal. Cottage was spotless and very well thought out and put together. All the little personal touches were wonderful. This will be our go to place every year we come back to the area.
Everything was fantastic!! From check in to check out. We loved having the privacy and enjoyed the hot tub. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. Grest location between bigger towns.
Had an amazing visit and the property is beyond words. A short walk to The river and loved being on a working farm. The place is better than expected and I highly recommend
This is our 2nd time staying here! It is just as beautiful as the 1st time!! Buter ball is the best. Such a nice relaxing place and the host are so great to work with! This is our go to place every time we come down this way!!!
This small cottage was the perfect getaway for the weekend. We enjoyed fishing, the hot tub and most of all Butterball! Highly recommend

We loved the cottage. It was clean, bright and well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable. The farm was a delight with all the animals. We loved being able to access the river. I would recommend this property.
We stayed here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Cabin was very clean, nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and bed was very comfortable. It was very private, easy to find with paved roads. The hot tub is wonderful located right outside kitchen door on a nice covered deck. Kristina made check in very easy! Look forward to returning in the future! We would definitely recommend renting this cabin!!
This place was perfect.....we spent most of the day working from 6am to 10 pm and this place was perfect to come back and relax. The hot tub was amazing and sitting on the back porch listening to the river was perfect. Butterball would great us every morning and evening and would hang out with us til we went to bed. We will have to go back when we can really enjoy it.
The Fishing Cabin is even nicer than the photos show, and the farm is peaceful, with sheep, horses, chickens, and the very friendly farm dog, Butterball (our daughter’s bestie for the weekend). The owners are responsive and easy to work with. The house is clean and well taken care of. Very private setting besides the owners’ house a few hundred yards away. Easy access to the gorgeous river by foot or by car. Property is close to both Elizabethton and Johnson City. If we ever go out that way again, we will definitely stay there a second time.
The hot tub was CHOICE!!! The cabin was perfect. Im already looking at future dates to book. Be aware that there are animals at this property: rooster, chickens, turkey, free-roaming horses, a beautiful retriever, and a not-so-friendly small white dog. I am adding the comment about the white dog in case you bring kids (he bites!).This cabin is also conveniently situated: close to Johnson City and outdoorsy things.
This place hit the mark. Check in could not have been easier and the directions were spot on. The accommodations were immaculate. The property was very maintained and friendly animals were roaming freely in the area. The dog became our self appointed tour guide and took us on a walk by a river where we found a nice place to relax. . The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and everything else we needed to make our meals. The deck area was very nice and had a nice table to sit at with an amazing view. You can tell the owners take pride in their work. We will be back.
What a great place to stay, loved the beautiful property and the nice quiet surrounding, and we will have to say Butter Ball and friends were a added bonus, will most definitely be back on or next Staycation
We were delighted when we walked into the cabin. So clean and it had everything you would need for an enjoyable vacation. The back porch was the perfect place for resting with the woods and rocking chair. The hot tub was a plus. The fishing was the only downer. You definitely need waders and ideally a raft or kayak to get at the fish. Plenty of great eating spots nearby but if you choose to cook, the cabin is very well equipped for any type of cooking. The owners really did a fantastic job with top of the line appliances and the beds were so very comfortable. Thanks for providing such a great place.
