2 Bedroom/2 Bath home above a barn on a working horse ranch. Live among beautiful horses, eat farm fresh eggs provided from chickens every morning, and experience what ranch life is like in the Santa Ynez Valley. In the morning enjoy your coffee on the deck and look over scenic views and the Santa Barbara mountains , and watch the horses eat their breakfast.
There is a stocked kitchen, with pots, pans, plates, as well as your essential spices and oils for cooking. There is also a washer & dryer in unit. One bedroom offers a king bed with high end linens, a TV to stream your favorite shows and a ensuite bathroom with a shower over tub. The second bedroom has a queen bed with high end linens as well, with a bathroom right across the hall with a shower over tub. The home has a dining room and family room with a TV to stream your favorite shows or for entertaining.
Once you walk down the stairs you will find a private seating area surrounded by beautiful horses where you can enjoy the quiet evening bbqing under the stars.
Owners are on site in the main home to answer any questions you may have. We do want you to note that this is a working ranch. You will hear chickens and horses throughout the day.

Everything you ever wanted on a farm :)

I really loved my stay !. It was so special , so beautiful, from the views of horses, farmland, nature all around , the beautiful countryside, sounds of roosters crowing and horses neighing, the cute town nearby, the little grocery store just down the road to walk to, no need to drive... a great place to relax, unwind and recharge. This is my second time here and I look forward to returning.

The three of us spent two nights at this location for a wedding. Very friendly owner. Interesting location with the animals.There was a kitchen, but a non-functioning dishwasher. We were told it was not included in the description of the property. I got the impression that there was no intention to fix this. For the price we paid per night to stay here we could have stayed in a four star hotel. This was an adequate VBRO.

This is a beautiful working horse farm. It is more of a place for those seeking a farm adventure. Our stay was overall great except the few details needed such as paper towels, a working dishwasher and the slider was not locking. This is above a farm so you need to be able to climb stairs. If you own a truck bring it as the road is a dirt road. Leave your good shoes at home. Again, this is an actual farm and we had a great time and fresh eggs daily. Will visit again now that we know what to expect.

Horse Farm

Really cool working horse farm.Cats chickens and dogs too. A short walk into town. Only two of us but lots of space for four.

Staying at a functioning horse ranch

Our stay at the ranch atop the barn was memorable. The horses are beautiful and seemed to welcome us strangers and so did the cat.

Down on the farm experience

A wonderful stay on a working horse farm, with barn cats, chickens, sheep along side. Close to town and vineyards. Authentic country accommodations.

Great Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay on the ranch! Beautiful scenery & lovely accommodations. The apartment was really spacious & clean. We appreciated the fresh eggs from their chickens on the property. I also enjoyed the barn kitties that visited with us. We all thought it was a great experience & we definitely want to stay there again.

Vintners Festival

If you love horses, chickens and the outdoors this is the place for you. Los Olivos offers wine tasting venues, coffee shops and some restaurants. Loved the Los Olivos Grocery Store. They have great sushi, fine wine selection, and deli within walking distance.

Working ranch cool vacay

Hosts were wonderful and easy to communicate with. We didn't get to play with the horses but at least they seemed happy to see us every day! Walking distance (1 mile) to Los Olivos. The property was clean, had adequate A/C, and was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Would recommend!

The little horse barn in Los Olivas

The property was as described, a charming, working horse property with plenty of horses and chickens. Great quiet location and close to both Santa Ynez and Los Olivas.The place could use some TLC, yet everything was clean and functioning properly. In the middle of watching a DVD Saturday night, the power went off suddenly. We lookout the window to the main house and it had power. The host did get the power turned back on. But after that, the DVD would not stay on.

Special place to stay on a working horse farm

We were delighted to pull into a beautiful working horse farm at the edge of town. It's quiet at night, and dark enough to get a beautiful view of the stars. Super friendly cats! The unit is clean, has everything we needed to cook up a breakfast, and offerred a nice place to rest in between wine tastings. We were lucky enough to see a SpaceX rocket launch from Vandenburg AFB. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. A grocery store/deli is literally a 2 block walk away. We all agreed we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the ranch. The two bedroom/two bath apartment, located above a barn, was spacious and had plenty of room for two couples. The beds were comfortable and the place was well equipped. The views were wonderful, with horses as far as you could see along with other ranch animals. We even used the BBQ one evening which worked great. The Los Olivos market is walking distance and was quite convenient. There were many wineries close by, and the town of Los Olivos was just around the corner. Our favorite part, were the friendly horses, including a 7 month old colt right outside the barn. We will definitely be back!

Lovely stay on working farm

We had a fantastic stay. The apartment was clean and we had everything we needed. Everything was as described in the listing. This is absolutely a REAL FARM and we LOVED it! The apartment is over the stable. Roosters crow in the morning. We saw horses and their babies, sheep, chickens, and farm cats. The property is in a neighborhood of Los Olivos, and within walking distance to their downtown. There is also a convenient market right down the road (~5 minute walk). We used this as a home base for exploring the region while our daughter was at camp at the prep school next door. It's centrally located to lots of small towns, hiking, beaches, and cute shops. Bonus: we were there in mid-June and the fruit and veg at the roadside stands was amazing.

If you love animals, this is your home!

I booked this home due to its location. Was thinking it would be fun to stay on a ranch, but I had no idea how much fun and exciting. We were so lucky that a mare delivered her Foal while we were there! It was incredible to see the baby after about 12 hours. There was a 3 mon old foal too. We were allowed to pet the horses, (with instructions). There are chickens and goats and barn cats. If you love animals, this ranch is for you! The owners are wonderful, so engaging! The home was comfortable and definitely big enough for two couples. The home is also close to some amazing wineries and restaurants. So the trip was a win all the way around.

Great close to town but far from light vibe

My partner and I stayed with his parents. Having two bathrooms, multiple tvs, abundant outdoor space, and good ac for his parents was more helpful than I could think. We had two anomalous one in a thousand repairs needed while staying and they were taken care of immediately, even at night. My in-laws captured Kevan in a convo about how he should have a better shower mat (to my horror—everything was fine) and when we left in the morn, it was replaced by afternoon. A lovely couple with an incredible ranch and the ability to see new baby animals and hear nature at night. Everyone with different needs and expectations were greatly satisfied upon leaving. I appreciate this host family and their property very much.

Fabulous Horse Farm

This was an absolutely terrific property. The apartment was even better than the photos -- and was stocked with eggs from the chickens on the farm, bacon, coffee, and lots of sparkling and regular water. Also, the kitchen has everything that any guest could need, including spices, all utensils, pots and pans. Perfect. Best of all was being surrounded by corrals of horses! I think that there were 35 horses including 2 2-week old colts. It was so peaceful to wake up to see these beautiful animals. The directions were perfect - as the GPS would send you to the locked gate. We were about a mile from town - easy drive or nice walk. The town is filled with wine tasting venues and restaurants. IT is also about 10-12 minutes from Solvang, Buellton and Santa Ynez (our favorite for shopping and lunch). I would definitely return as the stay was PERFECT>

Wonderfully comfortable base to explore Santa Ynez Valley.

As other guests have already commented, this is a convenient VRBO from which to tour the Santa Ynez Valley. It is quite comfortable for two couples and is a 5 min. walk to Los Olivos Grocery and an easy 15 min. walk into Los Olivos center and its Kitchen Market, cafes, tasting rooms, and other businesses. The apartment has comfy beds, good linens, plenty of bath towels, nice showers, and two sofas in the LR so two couples can visit comfortably. It is quiet as a cemetery at night, with no traffic noise and only the occasional whinny of a horse or cackle of a chicken. Unlike many places we've stayed, both beds have a nightstand on each side of the bed with a reading lamp. This unit has a small but well-equipped kitchen in terms of dishes, pantry staples, pots and pans, and good knives and utensils. If you like to cook on vacation, this kitchen won't be the reason to go out for dinner. The separate dining room seats 4 with plenty of space. The front porch, which is on the second story since this unit is over the barn, seats two couples comfortably, looks out over farm and ranch fields, and is a good place to watch sunset over a glass of wine. Tiffany, the host, sent clear and detailed directions to the farm since navigator apps don't seem to be aware of a locked gate on Santa Ynez St.

Loved this location so much we had to come back again!Location? Easy walk to Los Olivos Grocery so you can grab what you need to go with the farm fresh eggs they provide! Close to town FOR SURE! Perfect place for wine tasting as well!What to do when there? Take in the beautiful horses, hilarious ducks, hens, roosters, owls and more! And the starry skies from the patio at night! WOW!How is the home? Everything you need, comfy beds, a well stocked kitchen and so clean! And everyone on the property is so nice!We will be making this an annual trip for sure!

Lovely stay on active horse ranch

The apartment was super comfortable, large and very well appointed. It is directly above the horse barn, and you can see horses in the corrals all around. An added bonus for me was that a foal was born while I was there! The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
