Welcome! The area is now smoke free from the effects of the Thomas fire. Blue skies everywhere!
Our beautiful cottage is just a short 10 minute walk to the center of Los Olivos on our private 5 acre ranch. Drive through the gates, past the corrals, up the tree lined drive and enter our renovated cottage.
The cottage used to be a hunting cabin back in the 1960's and still retains all of it's charm. Enter into the living area with thick log walls original to cottage. You'll find hardwood floors and a wood burning fireplace that opens onto a dining area with a huge bay window. There's a complete kitchen with dark granite counters and marble floors, and a laundry/pantry room with your own washer & dryer. Tucked near the stairs is a fully equipped, removated bathroom with a big, tiled shower and large fluffy towels. Off the dining area, there's a cozy bedroom with a queen size bed and views of the garden.
Wander up the staircase and you will discover the perfect master-suite. Light the fireplace and sink into the queen size bed with down comforter for a fabulous night's sleep. Just steps away is the bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi tub framed by Carrara marble.
In the morning you can enjoy coffee on the front porch. In the afternoon, relax with a glass of wine, take a nap on the big porch swing, or hang out on the expansive private lawn.
Adjoining the porch is a deck with a wrought-iron table and BBQ. Off in the yard there is a picnic table under bistro lights if you prefer to dine al fresco. For entertainment, the cottage has a 32 inch flatscreen TV in the living room with a Roku box that has Netflix, Amazon and HBO, among other streaming services (no live tv/cable). There's also a DVD Player, sound system, and complimentary WiFi.
Cyclists are welcome! Los Olivos is a haven for cyclists. You can stash your bikes in our bike garage and if you need tools or air, we can help. We have many bikes available for your use. You can ride into town or get out and explore the valley. Bikes are included in your stay.
The cottage is short 1/2 mile from the town of Los Olivos. It is situated up on a hill surrounded by lawns, huge mature trees, and an occasional inquisitive horse in the nearby pastures. You won't see any neighbors or streetlights here. Close enough to pop into town but totally secluded for your privacy. SLEEPS 4 MAX. Basket of local information, winery tasting cards, etc, is located in the living area to help you plan and fill your days!
BIRDERS welcome! We've been over 50 types of birds have been spotted on the property.

We are former Los Angeles/New York transplants who abandoned city life for the tranquil surroundings of Los Olivos.
Why John chose Los Olivos
The tasting rooms, galleries, and restaurants of our quaint town are only a 10 minute walk or 5 min. bike ride. There's biking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, theatre, movies, shopping, festivals, farmer's markets and more. Santa Barbara, “the American Riviera,' is a short 30 minute drive south. Beautiful beaches are even closer, and never crowded. And our Los Olivos cottage is located right in the middle of it all! **stays 7+ nights enjoy our weekly discount - please inquire

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. We'll definitely be back.
Peaceful, cozy and serene!
Cottage was spotless, beds comfy and decor delightful. Well stocked. Multiple outdoor seating areas all surrounded by lovely scenery. Very private. John was accommodating and gracious.
We had a wonderful 3 day weekend at the cottage. Joined by family and friends, it was the perfect location for wine tasting, restaurants and space to visit.
Perfect spot, close to Los Olivos, but out in the country. Surrounded by open space, small fields, trees. House immaculately clean, secluded. Loved being able to borrow bikes and cruise into town for wine tasting and dinner. Definitely highly recommend.
We loved the location and the home. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!
The house was cozy and had everything we needed. We had plans to go out for dinner one night, but decided grilling steaks and chilling by a roaring fire sounded better. Great location and having access to the bikes was a fun bonus. Our host John was fantastic and even left us some extra eggs. There is a nice porch and outdoor area to relax and enjoy some wine. We will be back!!
