The beach house was very spacious and accommodating. The grandchildren loved the bunk rooms. Everyone enjoyed the pool. It was a great location to even walk to center square! It was an amazing memorable week!

2024 Family Beach Trip

Our family, 21 total with 3 generations had a wonderful week at Sweet Carolina this past week. We enjoyed the home, it's great location and private access to the beach so much, we booked for next year after only the first 3 days.

Amazing location

House great for our purposes . Double oven awesome . Only suggestion is for convection range to ensure all pots and pans are compatible . Heated pool was Awesome

The house really was very nice overall. The communication with the owners were great. We really enjoyed the house, clean and inviting. The pool was amazing especially the cleaning service. I would say to update the description of bedrooms as that was off just a bit with updates they did. It was overall just a great time and experience. We would highly recommend

Awesome House!

We were hosting a Girls Weekend (20) for all of the September and October Birthdays and a special 60th Birthday. The house was very clean and laid out perfectly for a Friends gathering. Breath taking views with steps to the beach. Property Manager was awesome as he checked on us to make sure all was well. We definitely want to plan another trip next year!

Best week!

House was perfect - not too fancy that you felt like you couldn’t live in it and worry when a kid walks in a room. Really clean and nice. Tidy. Had one light fixture issue (that we caused) that was fixed immediately - no issues. Pool was secure from kids which was so good. Overall a great place for families.

Coming back next year!

This house was fantastic and perfect for our family. You can easily accommodate 20+ people particularly if youve got older kids. Theres one bunk room that sleeps four little kids and another room with full size bunks that sleeps 6-10 older kids. We’ve already booked the home for next year and I can see our family using it for years to come. Proximity to the beach is ideal. And the private pool was exactly what we needed for the late evening dips. Can’t recommend Sweet Carolina enough. Sam

Wonderful Beach House!

Sweet Carolina is a wonderful house! The property manager responded to my questions very quickly. The check-in procedure was very easy. Our group of 18 total has been doing a beach trip for 36 years now and this house was perfect to spread out in and enjoy. We had a couple of issues with appliances but we worked around this. The local maintenance company was also very responsive when I reached out to him. Note: this house has an induction stovetop. We only had 2 small pots that would work but we reported this to the local maintenance person. But all in all this house is great! We've booked it again for next years trip!

Location, location, location!

Best location of any house I have stayed at on OIB. The layout of the house was perfect for our large gathering. We loved that the pool was slightly secluded from the main house. You could see the swimmers from the balcony but because of where it was located, kids could swim without feeling like the adults were listening which is important when travelling with teens. Having 2 dishwashers was a plus. Overall, I give the house 5 stars with the only downside being it looked like it needed a clean. Some beds did not have mattress protectors and one bed had no sheets at check in but they were delivered within an hour of calling management. No big deal for our stay as our party included 12 teens but it might be an issue for others.

Great location, but home, especially furniture, needs cleaning/updating

The house is spacious and the large kitchen table, additional breakfast table, and bar area provided enough space for 19 people to eat together! Great, prompt response from owner. I would give this rental a 3 stars due primarily to poor condition of all upholstered furniture. All furniture was stained and desperately needed cleaning or totally replacing (I couldn’t sit on it without covering it with a towel). Lack of mattress covers on most of the beds was concerning. We were given washcloths that had never been washed and ‘bled’ black all over other items. Paint is needed in many places - especially kitchen cabinets and hand rails. The refrigerator had several large screws hanging down inside. The decor is also lacking in a house renting at this price point.

Thank you for the feedback and our goal is to give our guests the best possible experience. I truly wish you would have mentioned any of this feedback to us while you were there . I had no idea you had any of these issues 2 weeks ago when you stayed. We could have easily addressed any of these issues if you had let us know immediately. I am sending my handyman there now to check with the current guests to see if they are seeing similar issues. Will have the upholstery professionally cleaned as well if Stains are found.

This property met my expectations. It has a great location on the beach. We had plenty of space there and never felt that the beach was too crowded. The children ages 4-15 had a great time. The pool was nice and refreshing, but the pool furniture was in poor shape. There were lots of beach items in the storage closets which included chairs and beach toys. We appreciated the extra refrigerator in the storage area. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare all of our meals. The house was well air conditioned on both levels and kept the house comfortable during our visit during extremely hot weather. The host was quick to solve a few issues that we encountered, even after our trip was over. This property was a great place for my family to spend our bi-annual family vacation.
