We had a great stay- house had everything we needed and more. Great location close to Andover. Chris was extremely accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay. The house is spacious, it has a wood stove the owner had going for us when we arrived. We had plenty of linens and the use of the land.

Great setting- THANK YOU for the accommodation* understandably, spiders and cobwebs are part of the environment and to be expected... it could have been a tad more clean/safe. ( rusty nail found near walk way and the tub had to be cleaned out before use- very stained futon- bedroom door off hinges etc) but overall very dog friendly and lovely location.
The location of this house was the best. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of trails and hikes close by. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. A huge plus was the good sized fenced in area for the pups. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook up a meal. My only suggestion to Chris is there really should be some chairs in the yard and near the firepit to be able to relax outdoors
House is rural, just what we were looking for. Nearest bigger grocery store about 30 minutes away. The house has hiking trails starting in the back yard & the lake is just a few steps across the street, ideal for swimming or kayaking. We had our three dogs with us. They were allowed on the furniture & part of the yard is fenced in which was ideal. The kitchen is well equipped, linens & towels were provided by Chris, the owner. He was easy to communicate with and answered in a very timely fashion to any text inquiries we had. We definitely will return. Thanks Chris for making this a great weekend for my family.
The owner barely communicated with us. We could not get in when we arrived. The check in instructions were wrong and check out instructions non-existent. We to,d the owner we could not find an air-conditioner and had no idea how to turn it on. (The house was very hot.) And he told us the next day he was sending somebody out with 15 minutes notice, who could not get in because we weren‘t there. We had no air conditioning the whole trip. The listing should be fixed.

Total disappointment
We went here to celebrate my 60th birthday. Drove 15 hrs to get there to not even stay in the house an hour before we left. We arrived and met Chris who was very nice and showed us around. Once he left we went to put a bag of groceries in the fridge and it was very dirty. Old food not wiped out and hair We than thought we should take a look around and noticed the sofa and chair was so dirty we didn’t want to sit on it and at that point decided to leave …. as the kitchen and living area is where we would be spending most our time As far as outside the lawn was mowed but dead plants in window boxes and just stuff laying around. Not at all neat like the photos. The whole thing was just a mess , not a relaxing feeling at all. This ended up ruing what was supposed to be a wonderful memory. We received 1/2 our money back trying to be fair to the owner but this was a total loss for us.
Communication prior to check in was fantastic, unfortunately no check in/out manual so we were unable to find the wifi password eventually we found it in a drawer. Recommend making a manual with check in /out procedures especially trash and things to know. I did throw in a load of towels prior to departure but some owners do not appreciate this. However tried to be helpful and get house clean as possible.
Note this property water pic is .3 miles at the boat ramp not a bad walk just not what I anticipated. Additionally there are neighbors despite abutting 214 acres of national forest and unsure if we could actually walk in forest based on red painted trees so maybe let guests know this. I had expected hiking. Lastly note the ac is only in tv room and bedrooms get very hot. Owner had left a box fan which was great and looks to be i. Process of remodeling so I'm sure window units will come or additional AC's. Overall great communication with owner and honestly wouldn't have needed it had questions if a manual was available. I would give 4/5 stars simply because it's more off beaten path which I had loved but the water wasn't as close as expecting. Loved how house supplied everything.
Thank you Chris! If we ever visit the ice castles we will be back ..
We spent 2 nights at Chris’ place. Great secluded location, not far from civilization (10 mins to the country store, 25 mins to Franklin). Weather was a bit dreary but we still had a great time exploring the area and hanging out in front of the fire. 5 year old twins and 1 year old puppy loved it.
Easy checkin process and Chris was very helpful. Highly recommend.
A comfortable, clean home close to the river. Canoe access with fishing. We enjoyed the fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable bed on the first floor. We didn't use the upstairs but plenty of room for a family of four. Nice fenced-in area right outside a sunroom for our two small dogs.
Recommendations: stop at the NH visitor's center for local info, stock up at the brand new Market Basket right off of 93, climb Mt. Kearsarge , visit Wolfeboro and try The Refinery for dinner in Andover (it was closed Sunday, so we missed out).
If you're looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, this is the place for you.
Chris was great!
I was intending to travel with my family, but at the last minute had to come alone. I felt totally at home at this cozy property. It was well appointed, warm, quiet, and had everything you might need. Communication was prompt and easy. Would recommend!
We enjoyed 10 days at Chris' property -- the house is cozy, nicely furnished and very well stocked. It's a lovely bright house with lots of windows and a wonderful sunroom! Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay very much, though the property is down a dirt road it had a nice charm and was walking distance to a small lake. Chris was very nice to work with as well and very accommodating.
House was exactly as described, suited our needs perfectly. Appreciate having a fenced area for our dog. Chris was very responsive and helpful. Wish we had more time to enjoy the river!
Lovely experience. House in great shape! Our son loved going down the path to the river to fish and catch frogs. We had a very relaxing week, and was a great base also for short drives to Mt. Kearsarge, Woodstock, even Franconia Notch. Loved all the lakes near us, and enjoyed also getting to know New London -- great little down. Chris was super, and loved getting to know him! Hope to return sometime to this house in the woods.
We had a wonderful time staying in Salisbury, NH for a long weekend. The property is off a dirt road, but so close to all of the lakes region activities. The house itself was well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the fenced area for our dogs, who also had a great time in the yard chasing grasshoppers and barking at owls. Would happily stay again.
Great location and fenced in yard was a plus for our dogs! They loved swimming in the river. House had everything you needed from sheets and towels etc… we visited local wineries and breweries closed by.
Chris’s property is nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the high speed internet was great for working remotely. We spent a little over a week at the property with our dog and we had a great time. We hope to come back again.
Wanted a weekend in nature that would accommodate our 3 dogs. Chris's house was perfectly equipped with a fenced yard, wonderful fire pit area, and super comfy house with plenty of space. A short walk down the dirt road led to perfect small access point on the blackwater river, where the dogs had a blast swimming and playing in the water. Chris was super communicative and helpful throughout the weekend. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
