Studio Condo; (Sleeps 4). We also have a next door 1 BR Condo, VRBO #4955527
Welcome to our wonderful studio condo in the new Cruz Bay luxury resort, Grande Bay. We have survived Hurricane Irma in good shape and are looking forward to welcoming our St John friends -- old and new -- back in 2018. St John has made a remarkable recovery and is more than ready for visitors. We will be offering a discount to encourage visitors to return to the magnificent island of St John and help the local residents continue to rebuild.
Our studio is perfect for a couple, with or without children. The studio has a king bed in the sleeping area and a queen sleeper sofa in the living/sitting area. There is a balcony from which to enjoy the awesome views of the Caribbean and a washer/dryer. There is also a fully equipped stainless steel and granite kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, electric Weber grill on the balcony and small electric appliances (coffee maker, blender, toaster/oven, plug-in burner, etc.).
Grande Bay is a 48 unit resort directly on the water and only a three to five minute walk to 'downtown' Cruz Bay with the ferry and all its restaurants, bars and shops. We have spectacular views of the water and harbor with St Thomas in the distance from the balconies. We have a particularly good location within Grande Bay. We are on the second floor (really the third floor, since the ground floor is the garage) of the rear Building C (Stairwell 6) near the pool and away from the town side. We especially like this location because: (1) we are off the street and don't have any street noise and have more privacy; (2) we are up high so we have great panoramic views; and (3) we are away from town so it is quieter (no Beach Bar or nearby construction) Use our apartment as your base to explore the most magnificent island on earth!
Our studio comes fully equipped with high end furnishings in the Caribbean style with many personal touches. We offer a Sony flat screen hi-def cable TV with Netflix, and have high speed internet (also, free long distance domestic telephone calls). You can also listen to your favorite music on our stereo, best of all, just sit on the balcony and enjoy the spectacular view.
If you check out our reviews, you will get a very good sense of the kind of experience you can expect to have renting from us. Use our apartment as your base to discover the paradise that is St John! You can walk to two of the most beautiful beaches, Solomon and Honeymoon, in 30 minutes along the National Park Service trail through the woods. Or rent a car or take a taxi to explore the North Shore beaches -- some of the very best in the world. In ten minutes you will be at Hawksnest, and then on to Oppenheimer, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon, Francis Bay and beyond, to name a few, all within the protected boundaries of the National Park. You can take your beach towels, chairs and coolers from the unit, so pack a lunch and make it a day. If you rent a car, park in our garage beneath the building (parking is at a real premium in Cruz Bay). After a day at the beach, come relax pool side or sit in the hot tub and soak in the view. Or if you want to be more vigorous, come work out in our state of the art fitness center with the best views imaginable. We have treadmills, elipticals, bikes, weights, a strength tower, and, yes, even a pilates machine! In the evening, walk to one of the many bars or restaurants in town, or listen to music at the Beach Bar, just two minutes away. Or get some of the best and cheapest barbecue ever from Uncle Joe's and sit on the balcony and watch the sun set as you eat your dinner. So many terrific choices!!
But most importantly, just relax and enjoy this very special spot. We are certain that you will love St John and Grande Bay as much as we do -- it would be virtually impossible not to.

About Tom Hill
Betty and I and our three daughters have been coming to St John continuously for well over 20 years. For us, it was love at first sight and we all think of St John as our second home. When the Grande Bay project was announced, we jumped at the chance to own our own place in paradise.
Tom Hill purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Tom Hill chose Estate Enighed
Grande Bay is in a wonderful location -- so convenient to town, yet with spectacular water views and close to the wonderful North Shore beaches. Grande Bay has four buildings -- two in front and two in the rear up the hill, above the front buildings. We specifically chose to be in the rear building (Building C) higher up with more expansive views and away from any street noise. We think we have the very best location within the Grande Bay complex, which itself has the best location of any condo development on St John.
What makes this Condo unique
Our wonderful spacious studio allows a couple with or without children to enjoy the wonders of St John in an elegant and beautifully furnished, yet affordable, condo with a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. If you check out our reviews you will get a very good sense of what you can expect staying with us. Come visit us!

Wonderful studio condo~ Amazing trip!
We stayed in the studio condo for 3 nights during spring break. It was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The views off the balcony overlooking Cruz Bay were beautiful. We appreciated that the condo was near town so it was very easy to walk to dinner and shopping.
Tom, the owner, was very helpful. Reserving the condo was easy and he was always very quick to respond to inquiries. His property manager, Rachelle, met us at the ferry dock and showed us to the unit. She was always a quick text away if we needed anything during our stay.
The islands were hit hard by hurricanes Irma and Maria last September. I was amazed at how much of a recovery the island made in 7 months. You can certainly see destruction...Maho, Cinnamon Bay, Caneel, and the remnants of villas and homes on the hillsides are painful to see. But there is so much beauty too...amazing shades of aqua blue water, white sand beaches, new growth, and the locals who constantly thanked us for returning and supporting the island. Restaurants are open and we enjoyed great meals and service at every place we went. We also enjoyed a nice afternoon sailing. St. John is more than ready for visitors. I'm so glad we made the trip and look forward to returning.
St John March 2018
Once again another great trip to St John. Was a little concerned as to what the Island would be like after the Hurricanes of Irma and Maria. Tom was in great contact keeping me posted and updated on everything from the state of Grande Bay to the Island itself. Knowing that we jumped in and said yes. Grande Bay is such a perfect location if you want to rent a Jeep or not you can work your way around the Island. The Island has a way to go however I would highly recommend going, the beaches are as beautiful as always you cannot go wrong. We ate in town at Bannana Deck (highly recommend the Ice Cream dish for dessert), Cafe Roma and La Tapa are up and running. Drink is especially nice short walk from the resort. In town Cruz Bay Landing is a must, for breakfast, lunch or dinner always a great meal could not go wrong. How can you beat there blueberry pancakes I don’t know. Try the Eco Tour if you like to take a short boat ride from Cruz Bay over to Honeymoon for the day, you get the boat trip, lease of a chair, and lunch for small fee. It was so easy they picked us up right at the ferry dock all we needed was our towel!!! If you thinking maybe not due to the storms RETHINK and go the island needs you and Tom is great in giving you any ideas if you have never gone before. He was so helpful in helping us when our flights were pushed due to the snowstorm coming home, I know so painful having to stay in paradise one more day. Thank You Tom Thank You St John.
What a comeback!!! So glad we returned quickly.
St. John post storm turnaround is incredible . Vicki & I are so happy to have added to boosting their economy. They deserve it & truly appreciate guest returning. Sugar & Spice are great, as usual. Have stayed many years at one or both units (when accompanied by friends/family) and Tom never disappoints....so, so easy to deal with, no stress & WHAT A VIEW!!! Walk easily to all the best bars/restaurants/shopping/transportation (if needed). The restaurants are as good & some better than ever. Morgans Mango (fav dinner)
No auto needed if staying at GB (best amenity)...save $$$ big time & spend $$ on margarita's lol!! Check "VI ecotours" for a day pass to Honeymoon Beach. Will p/u at beach in front of GB and boat you around to Honeymoon Beach, if short hike isn't your thing. They will return you when you're ready. All amenities included & fun, easy!
Thanks again Tom for another wonderful & memorable trip. Can't wait for our fall trip
Bob & Vicki
PS: "The Landing" bar/restaurant located in park just off ferry is best "go to" for quality breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks at fair $$. Many locals and just minutes walk from condo. Always good!
HAVE FUN.....I know you will!
Property was very updated and clean.
Property was updated and very clean. It contained everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Lanai was big enough to relax and overlooked Cruz Bay. I would stay here again.
FABULOUS CONDO AND LOCATION IN CRUZ BAY!
We just returned from two wonderful weeks in St. John at Sugar & Spice. The condo is beautifully decorated and fully equipped, right down to new beach chairs, coolers, and a beach umbrella. We stayed in the 1 bedroom side and our friends came for the second week in the studio. It was great to be able to open the whole condo up yet have our privacy when we wanted it. Both units have great views from their balconies. We absolutely love this condo - Tom is great to work with and Rachelle was very helpful.
Post Hurricane: Grande Bay is in perfect condition including the pool, hot tub, etc. The beaches are all open, and the snorkeling was great. St. John is ready to be back in business!
We highly recommend Sugar & Spice!!!
First trip back to St. John after the hurricanes
We have been to St. John many times. This was the first time we have stayed at a condo and at Grande Bay. What we most appreciated was the location with a short walk to town restaurants and shopping. We rented a car for the week and the parking garage was so convenient. My husband was thrilled that he didn't have to hunt for a parking place every night. Sugar N Spice was everything we could ask for. The condo was clean, well equipped, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The view from the patio overlooked Great Cruz Bay and we were even greeted a couple times by early mornings rainbows over the bay. Beautiful. The king size bed was very comfortable. My sister used the sofa bed and was surprised about the comfort of that bed as well. Another plus was the spacious closet space in the bedroom. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything one might need. Tom was extremely helpful quickly answering all of our questions as we planned our trip. Although we were sad to see the damage to the island from the recent two hurricanes, we were impressed by how much work has been done to restore its beauty. Some businesses are closed but we found great restaurants every evening. If you love St. John as much as we do, please come visit again this year. You won't be disappointed. We were very happy staying at this condo and hope to return again next year.
We have a wonderful heated hot tub and pool as well as a fitness center for our guests with the best views of any fitness center in the Caribbean.
