The upstairs features two beautiful master suites, with a sitting area and fireplace in each suite. The king suite has a double futon and the upper queen suite has a single futon. This upper queen suite connects from the bathroom to a smaller queen room with a double futon. There is one exit for these rooms (ideal for families!)The upper hallway has a single futon as well.

Downstairs there are two twin bedrooms with 2 twin beds in each room and a large bathroom with a tub/shower close by. The downstairs also includes a relaxing entertainment center (on the same level as the outside hot tub), with a TV (newly installed 60' flat screen TV!) wet bar and small pool/game table and game closet. There is also a CD/cassette/I Pod music system.

This level also has a queen and two single futons (yes, this home is perfect for large groups!). There is a large closet close by for storage as well as extra linens, kitchen supplies, folding chairs and a printer. There is a storage closet with toys and games to the left of the TV.

The huge deck features ample seating and check out the chair lift seat! The views in every season are absolutely incredible!

Many of these activities are free and perfect for children of all ages!

The home is near the top of a steep winding road and not directly on the slope. This ski in/out home has many trails connected to the major ski runs and is only about 100 yards from the runs, which you may view from the rear deck of the house. The lift visible from the house is Coney Glade.

The Guggenheim trail, leading to the slopes is only about 120' from the house-2 houses down.*Some access trails to the lifts for ski in/ski out can be considered challenging relative to your personal skiing ability. Some are very easy. *During low snow pack you may need to take your skis off and walk*

To Ski Out From the House:

Take the Guggenhill Trail. It is on your left at the end of Little Lane. This is the more challenging trail.

or Walk/Ski (or have someone drive) 2/10 of a mile to the underpass and climb to the left side of the underpass (there is an embankment there.) This is Adams Ave. Take this run to the Village below. This is the easy way to ski out. Walking to this bridge below is about 200 yards.

To Ski In From the Ski Slope:

Take the Green Cabin run and near the lower portion of the run stay to the right. Look for the round 'target' sign. Take the 'cat walk' to Wood Road (it is 2/10 of a mile to the house.) Follow the trail down to the left (it parallels Wood Road) and follow this trail to the house. Gorgeous 4,500 sq. foot mountain vacation home overlooking the ski slope. Stunning architecture, ski-in-ski out (short walk to trails), summer hiking and mountain biking, rodeo, unbelievable aspen and fall colors, music, dining and entertainment in both the upper and lower villages. The directions are available.

It is a quick 5 minute drive (about a mile) down the hill to Clark's grocery store.

This home is perfect for large family gatherings and retreats as well as for a romantic 'getaway', and the unique design of the home ensures privacy on all levels.

There is a 2 car garage and parking spaces around the house for 6 vehicles.

* If you book for 30 days or longer the 12.8% lodging tax is exempt and there is a discount! We thank Veterans for their service and honor that with a 10% discount and give our loyalty guests a 10% discount as well!

Susan Oakley/Property Administrator purchased this house in 1999

Why Susan Oakley/Property Administrator chose Snowmass Village

We 'fell in love' with Snowmass in 1969 and decided to purchase condo units at the Crestwood Condominium complex. Then we found the perfect property and decided to build our family vacation home on this property.

Our home is in the Ridge Run 2 sub division with access to tennis courts! The house was completed in 1999 and features breathtaking views from any of the decks and is still only minutes away from world class dining, shopping and so many activities!

Aspen (famous for being Aspen and it is fun to see a celebrity or two!) along with the gorgeous Maroon Bells close by), and Glenwood Springs (famous for the hot springs pool and vapor caves, and recently acquired roller coaster, along with the zip line with spectacular views of the mountains ) is only 45 minutes away.

What makes this house unique

This southwestern style home is a gem! It sits atop the mountain with incredible views, and a short 15 minute drive will take you to world famous Aspen. The snow is superb from around November through April, and oftentimes beyond.

This home is absolutely gorgeous year round! The Aspen trees literally light up the mountain with fall colors, and the summer is green and lush! The perfect place to mountain bike, hike, sight see and relax!

It is approx. 2 miles from the house to the upper/lower malls. An extra bonus is the free bus shuttle service from the Aspen Airport to the Snowmass Village Mall. From there you can get a shuttle to the house (during the ski season)(Dial a Ride taxi service is $1.00 (paid for by the town of Snowmass!).The public transportation is available from the rodeo grounds on down. Call the public transportation system at 1-970-923-3500 for more information.

Check out the X Games (in Aspen for free!) in January, Film and Music Festivals throughout the year as well as rodeos in the summer. Another exciting event is the Bike Pro World Cup that goes through Aspen and Snowmass on to Denver.

Also of interest is the site of the internationally acclaimed Mastodon unearthing, one of the world's greatest archaeological discoveries! Check out the latest events online!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The view is breath taking. I could have sat in the huge, comfy red chairs all day, but you can't help but get out and play, whether it be with the leaves or snow. You also can't help but love the hot tub. Great for cooler nights or just to relax. Loved the size of the house. Enough to have adventures but not too big you get lost. And most importantly the owners are so wonderful, who wouldn't want to visit this relaxing vacation home in any season... and I've seen it through every season.

Words can't describe it!

  • 5 of 5

After researching every single website and all local real estate managers, I was lucky enough to end up at the Oakley's property. The house is simply amazing! It does have everything any large group could possibly look for, from all the 5 bedrooms that can comfortably host 10 people. The super large living room has an increabible view to the mountain and all its super nice couches had me and my friends (we were in 8 total) hanging out after skiing. Btw, the ski in/out is very convenient and easy to find. We were very lucky with the weather and there was lots of snow for a perfect ski week, and even with a foot of fresh snow, the cars were able to reach the house, once there were workers plowing the snow every couple of hours from the village to the top of the road, including our garage door.

Also, the hot tub was already warm and clean since day one, which was great! The bbq place was all set and all we needed to worry about was not burning the burgers!

I was greeted by Steve and his wife, the local property managers, who were super kind and nice to all my requests. All bathrooms had lots of clean towels and all amenities we could think of (soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, etc...).

The kitchen is fully equiped and we didn't feel like anything was missing.

We all loved that house and we'll sure come back, hopefully next year already! If you're reading this, I hope you do choose this home and have as many good moments as me and my friends did during our stay there! We were a group of Brazilians running away from Carnival and we sure had a blast!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the perfect description of Oakley's Majestic Vacation Home! It's true that words can't adequately describe this home. It is very unique, large yet cozy on each level. The large dining/living room is perfect for entertaining! Our property management team is so helpful and caring and are available 24/7! Glad you enjoyed all of the special features the home has to offer. It's amazing how much it snows, yet the crews are able to clear the roads quickly and efficiently. The weather in Colorado is always a surprise, but we have been fortunate in Snowmass to receive consistent snowfall for excellent skiing. Our summer activities and views are also spectacular with so much to do and see in our beautiful state of Colorado. We are looking forward to your return visit next year!

the house had privacy for the various family units and yet an atmosphere for celebration! We loved the hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. The accommodations were excellent and nearby stores and adventures. The final day was eye opening as a bear tried to join us for breakfast! Thank you to Mark who answered many questions and was available for assistance!

Thank you for sharing your magical home. We all loved it! Sandi Isburg

An occasional bear will wander on by making for a memorable vacation. The home is accommodating for groups of all sizes and we love the walking/biking trails around the area. The mountain views are truly majestic! Come back again!

The Oakley House was perfect for our large group! There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and feel comfortable with whatever activity they chose to do. The large picture windows in the family room provided spectacular views of the mountains and ski runs. Our teenagers were thoroughly entertained watching skiers "crash and burn"! The kitchen was stocked with every utensil and appliance you can imagine. We cooked many meals during our stay and always had just what we needed. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax after a long day of skiing. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Oakley House and made many wonderful memories!

Owner's Response: This comment expresses this home perfectly. It is so true that there are incredible and always "entertaining" views from the huge living room window! This has been an incredible year so far with several feet of snow every few days with more on the way! The unique design of the house allows for large or small group gatherings and that feeling of privacy on each level. The hot tub is a highlight at the end of a long day of skiing. Special memories for sure!

Our large running team enjoyed this home after a grueling 200 mile race. The home was absolutely perfect!!! We were able to all relax, enjoy the fresh air, rest our muscles in the hot tub. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat. The property manager was an absolute joy to work with. She was kind, attentive, and accommodating. This home is beautiful, even more so than shown in the photos. Impossible to say enough how wonderful this home was! Thank you!!

Peace, Comfort And Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Oakley's vacation home is top notch with everything you could imagine and more!

Our beautiful drive from Denver up Independence Pass with the leaves glistening gold was absolutely breathtaking and full of photo opportunities! Driving though Aspen is always a treat and fun if you have time to stop for a bite to eat at one of the many wonderful and eclectic restaurants. We continued the drive up the slightly curvy but breathtaking road to Snowmass Village past beautiful homes, golf course and reflecting ponds. We always get anxious and excited when we get to that point as we know we are getting close.

Upon arrival at the Oakley house, you see the beautiful exterior as well as impeccable landscaping and lots of aspen trees.

Once inside you immediately feel welcome and right at home due to the warm, cozy and relaxing ambiance.

The decor is so detailed that it takes more than a few visits to see all of the amazing photography and little trinkets here and there.

The living room area has a stone fireplace that says "Peace". This is exactly how you feel during your stay at the Oakley home.

Can't forget the awesome hot tub! Stars were bright and beautiful as we kicked back and relaxed after a long mountain bike ride.

We highly recommend the Oakley home for anyone and especially those who are ready to escape the rat race!

Owner's Response: Peaceful and relaxing describe this home perfectly, especially during the fall with the golden Aspen leaves changing. It is true that Aspen is a quick 15 minute drive from the house and there are many restaurants and shops. We have found some amazing sales during the "off season". Mountain biking is popular during the summer and fall with many races going on. I am so glad that you enjoyed your vacation!

Making Christmas Memories

  • 5 of 5

No doubt you'll find the Oakley family's vacation house to be the perfect home-away-from-home for multiple generations of skiers making family Christmas memories together. (I've also stayed here in the spring for a reunion with girlfriends. It's wonderful any time of year!) Most warm and welcoming, with full amenities. Well-appointed, including unique and tasteful artistic touches that bring the "feel" and history of the region to light. Cozy atmosphere yet fully spacious at the same time. Floor plan provides plenty of areas on different levels for groups to gather while suites and bedrooms are arranged in a way that offers privacy, peace and quiet. Large windows offered breath-taking views without making the house feel cold. Pink-crystal snow glistened at sunrise. After dark we were treated to some of the brightest stars you've ever seen in the night sky. A vacation home created by people who truly value family time together and inspire their guests to do the same. Something to please every age group in every season. This year our family lucked-out with lots of fresh new snow on Boxing Day, the perfect gift for our Canadian son-in-law who regularly skis Whistler. Way to go, Snowmass!
