The cabin was very clean and comfortable to stay in. It had everything you could need while you’re out of town and the property made it a very relaxing place my husband and I could come back to after exploring all day. We would 100% stay here again!

What a serene place to stay. So dang cute with all the fairy lights and the backlit bear. We had such restful sleep and the kitchen had more than enough supplies. So fun to sit on the deck and watch the stars and even the eclipse last night.

Beautiful property, very quiet and calm. I visited with just my little dog and did a bit of writing, a bit of reading. I made soup. It's a lovely place to relax and the host was always available. 10/10

What a beautiful, cozy cabin! Although not too far from civilization, it feels very secluded and private, and just down the road from a state park. The cabin itself was impeccably maintained and just a beautiful spot with little touches like a fire pit, string lights, and hammock. Highly recommend!

we love your review and thanks for writing it. We love hosting folks with family nearby, seems extra special to be able to host you for family time.
we loved this spot! the only thing i would say is the picture from penrose park of the hammock and water had us a little confused because we thought the cabin itself was on the water - but the spot itself is adorable and delightful!
Convenient for a wedding. Clean. The coffee was good, which was a big plus as there was not a convenient coffee shop.

Welcome everyone! We hope to see you soon. I grew up in Spokane and have been in Kitsap county for nearly 30 years. We recently sold our sailboat (25 years of sailing the Salish Sea) and fulfilled another dream of traveling and camping in our Pleasure Way Sprinter Van. Our own travel experiences (both near and far) has given us a passion for providing great hospitality. Our tiny home, the Magic Lantern is our expression. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
The Magic Lantern is a piece of land you never want to leave. So comfortable, so open feeling and a really well made tiny home on a small knoll. It comes alive at night with the glow of the lighting and all the outdoor decorative lights. Everyone loves it. The property is amazing and filled with very large cedars and Douglas firs. The trees are fantastic and home to deer that we often see. 2 acres of private property, includes a RV site at the bottom of the hill. We are just a couple of blocks from Penrose Point State Park. This gorgeous park provides beach access and easy trails with spectacular views. Don’t miss a visit here.
What makes this property unique
Our guests describe their visit with words like- peaceful, private, beautiful, soothing and relaxing. Everyone mentions the very large cedars. Most people see deer, numerous birds, otters, bats. Remember we are wooded and bears, coyote, cougars and bobcats also call this area home. Conveniently located by Penrose State Park for hiking and beach access (clamming when in season!). Bay Lake has natural and stocked fish. Trails in many areas and several places for your kayak launch. Only an hour from Hood Canal and the start of all the Olympics have to offer in the area.
