Looking for a mountain retreat? Paramount Place is your answer! The 2800 sq ft mountain cottage sits on a mountain with breath-taking views overlooking the Cartecay River Valley; indeed, the views are 280 degrees.
The house has 52 windows, and every room has inspiring vistas. There are 3 three bedrooms, the Master is on the main floor. The property boasts 3 ½ bathrooms. There are two lofts – one with a pool table and the other with two queen-size beds and ten people can sleep comfortably in this mountain retreat. The well water is from an underground spring and is pure and sweet. Warm up to a cozy fire in the wood-burning fireplace. There are 24- foot ceilings in the great room and a foosball table for family tournaments. A wrap around deck has sitting areas and a grill, along with a hot tub, ready for you to let the jets whisk away your cares and worries. On the three- acre property there is a half court basketball court along with a cool firepit with chairs for your group to roast smores and marshmallows. Set in the spectacular Ellijay, GA area of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Paramount Place is the perfect place for a romantic or fun-filled getaway. The quaint downtown Ellijay area is twenty minutes away with shopping and wonderful restaurants. There are so many outdoor activities in the area, including tubing, kayaking, hiking, exploring, and Amicalola Falls is 15 minutes away.

A couple of hiccups-the jacuzzi was the only disappointment because it took forever for it to get to the 90+degree mark-only one person used it and it was the morning we had to check out. The two beds in the loft were atrocious for the back so we had to remove the futon mattresses and place them on the floor. The coffee maker didn’t work other than the keurig but we didn’t bring pods 😞 however overall. WE LOVED the place. Now I’m curious WHAT IS the TELEPORTER Switch please 😉

Great Views

Pros - The views at this house are great. Plenty of room to spread out but yet stay connected. Not far from town so it's easy to get what you need without spending half a day driving. Cons - The home is older and could use some updating. We were only supplied about five pieces of wood for the fireplace for the duration of our stay even though the paperwork states we would get a certain number of pieces each day. The heat went out the last night we were there. Not really sure what happened. Would have been nice to have more wood.

Day 4, Shortly after waking, we had no water. I reached out to the owner and he directed me to the maintenance POC. After several texts and phone calls between my husband and the maintenance POC and me and the owner, it was confirmed no one knew where the pump was. We assumed after a thorough search of the property by my husband and SIL, the pump was probably located in the locked shed. The maintenance POC stated that was only storage. I requested the current owner reach out to the previous owner so that the pump could be located since we assumed it was frozen and that was why we had no water. The pump was finally located in the shed. And, it was frozen. There was a burnt up heater on a shelf near the pump and another burnt up heater in the hole with the pump. Fortunately, there was yet another heater in a closet in the house that was functioning and could be used to thaw the pump. ~1.5 hours later we finally had water again. The elapsed time was 8+ hours. Day 6, Early evening, the furnace failed. My husband made numerous attempts to reset it. He was not successful. The owner was notified and his response was offering a $100 gift card for a nice meal because of the issues we had experienced. So, in order for my family to sleep, we found 5-6 space heaters and got the house as warm as possible before going to bed. For safety reasons, we could not leave space heaters running while sleeping. The mere fact of having that many space heaters staged, indicates there had been a problem with the furnace before. The temps in the house dropped below 50 degrees overnight. The owner offered no solution. Instead, he offered a very meager compensation. The window seals and sliding glass door tracks were filthy and full of dead bugs. There was a bar stool that had something spilled all down the legs that had not been cleaned for quite some time. At least one plug on numerous outlets was non-operational. Several outlets and the shower faucet in the master bath were extremely loose, to the point of being concerned they may fall out.

Excellent view, highly recommended.

This property had everything we were looking for…privacy, spectacular view, plenty of space, things to do for all ages, grill, etc. We had an issue with a leaking/noisy faucet in the master bathroom, but the owners were on top of it and had plumbers there the next day to fix it. This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the road to get there. It’s a one lane curvy dirt road with considerable elevation. Honestly, it gave me anxiety, however, my husband thought it was great! Highly recommended rental. We are already talking about renting it again next time we visit.

We were looking for a spectacular mountain view and also close to where we were going to utv. and explore. Paramount Place had all of that. It was located great. Communication with host was also great. We will definitely book again next time we are heading to the area.

It was all great!

I really loved 3 bedroom suites + 2 extra queen beds in the loft-great layout! Everyone has privacy & hang out space. The views are wonderful. We all loved it & also enjoyed reading the guest book, so sweet to think of all the families & honeymoons & women's groups enjoying that space. Only a couple minor things; I hope someone checks the dishwasher detergent, I used the last of it & left the empty bottle on the counter. It could use a disinfecting kitchen spray cleaner or 409...and a couple big heavy duty trash bags would help with the trash situation, but it was fine, I just didn't want to be the reason there was a trash mess. Finally, the listing should mention a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommend; we took 2 vehicles, one was a mini cooper & it was extremely challenging!!! We really loved it & I would totally get this house for another visit, so loved it!!! Thank you so much!
